Am I the only one who gets Guitar World magazine or reads the articles...They had the 50 fastest guitars and in order for Herman Li and Sam Totman to get on the list they had to go to the GW workplace and prove they were as fast as they are and not just a studio trick and they PROVED IT...you guys who are claiming they speed up their music why aren't you saying the same for other guitarist who are fast? Is it just because it's Dragonforce? Look up your fucking facts before you talk shit.

@Scaar81 They have got significantly better live. True they used to be pretty bad, but if you look up anything from like the past three or four years they can actually play their stuff at this speed correctly.

I've actually met Li and Totman, and they do not speed anything up. People made up the studioforce shit when one of their techies fucked the tuning and intonation up. @RazorStormInc its called pro tools :), herman can play very well, Could clean his sweeping up i little bit though, but they do speed up by x2 and then pro tool it, i am not a big fan either, i havent got a problem with them, because in the end, unless you are bothered, its the music that counts :)
@EmoGuitarSceneKidxP DragonForce definitely DON'T speed their guitars up, because a) I've seen them live, and it reall was that fast; and b) I can play some of the fastest sections of this song, and they aren't that hard. Tremolo picking and sweeping, along with incredible mastery of the instrument. That's the key to speed.
@EmoGuitarSceneKidxP dude, it sounds fast and hard, but it's really not. I'm an intermediate player and I could probably play this song if they taught it to me. Its not hard because it doesn't change notes fast, and a type of effect called tremolo makes it have that sound like ur picking 1000 times a second.
@canucmesucker That's tremolo PICKING, not just an effect. They actually Do play that fast. True, it isn't hard for the majority, but it is played at that speed with no delay/tremolo effects added. Why does everyone persist with the speeding up rumours? It's as if no-one WANTS to believe that DraginForce are as good as they are!

But I've always gone with the policy that if I can't play something live exactly as I wrote it, then I don't need to record it like that. For example, they can't do the PacMan thing live if they play the solo as it is on here, because they'd have to take their whammy bars off WHILE still playing, which is impossible. I don't like them cause they take credit for the synth
@JeremyWootenOFFICIAL Actually, that's a very good point - I'm not sure if they're aware, but you can actually do the PacMan noise with a plectrum. Also, it's possible to create whammy-like effects without an bar; I've got an ESP V-500, which isn't whammy compatible. You could use a pedal etc. But yeah, I agree - if you can't do it live, don't do it in the studio.
As for the synth... I like to think their keyboardist does it. I actually don't know who does what for some bits of the songs.
