9900 bold is not even close to 4s. Not because the iPhone has better processor or more ram, but because the new iOS 5 is the God of all mobile OSs. I've seen a complex test and ALL latest models (including Samsung Galaxy S II) are WAY behind.

That's such a huge improvement in the BlackBerry browser. I had a chance to try it out at the store on the 9810 and I can finally say that a BlackBerry has a good browser. It is smoother than the browsers on Android devices. I really liked it.
I have a samsung fascinate and a curve 8330 running an os6 skin. Sure my fascinate has HD video, a 4 in screen, 100 thousands of apps, nut what good is it when it barely lasts through the day. My curve has a smaller screen, anemic like camera, and less apps, but it does what I need it to do and it lasts forever. I can honestly say the only reason I got my fascinate was to be in the "cool crowd". When I look back, I wish I would've got the bold with my upgrade instead of the fascinate...
U must be on crack by saying that it was too close to iphone and nexus ! The 9900 is 1.2 ghz throw in galaxy 2 to be fair..these other phones are very old now sadly bb still behind an year old technology !
Blackberrys may b e a bit slower than iPhones and Androids, but they have better battery life than android and have better email than both, yes, Apple and Android have tons of apps but most of the apps (especially in the case of Android) are complete garbage, where all the blackberry apps are perfectly integrated into the phone. The way I think, the smartphone has evolved, no doubt about that. It does NOT mean a device with a full qwerty keyboard is NOT a good smartphone. Blackberry defined a smartphone and Apple started the trend of a full on touch screen smartphone, so it's still a smartphone nonetheless. Apple while offering a fairly fluid experience (sometimes can be laggy as well) as all phones are prone to some faults. I personally still like the Blackberry way of doing things. Android/iOS user here.

keep in mind that the bold was released some days ago with a new OS. so the OS and the browser performance are in a pretty youth state and will be improved. So the browsers on the outdated devices had been improved a lot since their launch, so we should think about if this comparison (established OS and device against a new device) is fair...

The more I watch RIM the more they begin to remind me of SEGA in the mid-late 90's. They couldn't compete with Microsoft and Sony financially, and were forced to drop out of making hardware and focus on software. Blackberrys are continually behind the curve, maybe the should consider bringing their software to other platforms. Just a thought, so don't @ me. I'm not interested in debating MY opinion.

loading websites through bookmarks an unfair test cause each phone has a different way of loading the bookmarks, i think if it was done typed out bold 9900 would have won a few more, iphone is great but rim has finally made a phone worth buying, and also mind you this test was done on wifi is the phones were on there networks i think the bold 9900 would have won a few more considering it is a 4g phone, even with out the LTE the 9900 would have edged out the iphone 4

Anyone else notice that he loaded a different page for the Nexus S on the last test? That was the Wikipedia entry for Wikipedia, not the Wikipedia homepage. More content = slower.

The way I think, the smartphone has evolved, no doubt about that. It does NOT mean a device with a full qwerty keyboard is NOT a good smartphone. Blackberry defined a smartphone and Apple started the trend of a full on touch screen smartphone, so it's still a smartphone nonetheless. Apple while offering a fairly fluid experience (sometimes can be laggy as well) as all phones are prone to some faults. I personally still like the Blackberry way of doing things. Android/iOS user here.

keep in mind that the bold was released some days ago with a new OS. so the OS and the browser performance are in a pretty youth state and will be improved. So the browsers on the outdated devices had been improved a lot since their launch, so we should think about if this comparison (established OS and device against a new device) is fair...

I'm really impressed with what RIM done. 9900 is looking very smooth, and I mean VERY smooth. I can't wait to get mine. I think my 9700 needs retirement.

If you turned off Adobe Flash then scrolling would not have been so stuttery on Android. And to choice the latest and 'greatest' for Apple and Blackberry but now Android is another unfair factor.

The more I watch RIM the more they begin to remind me of SEGA in the mid-late 90's. They couldn't compete with Microsoft and Sony financially, and were forced to drop out of making hardware and focus on software. Blackberrys are continually behind the curve, maybe the should consider bringing their software to other platforms. Just a thought, so don't @ me. I'm not interested in debating MY opinion.

@ Steven1164318 I know better than to debate RIM fanboys. But the fact is, they need to draw in new users from Apple and Google to make up for the ones they've lost. And they can't do that by sticking with the same old stale designs and outdated tech. If you buy a BB just for the sake of having one then enjoy. But most people will view using their upgrade for a BlackBerry as a step backwards.

if only we can meter the data transmit within those devices, i believe BB will win hands down with its compressed data sent and received unlike those 2 other dvices i believe it doesnt do any compressing of data, which translate to more browsing with the allocated data plan compares to the other!!
what use of speed faster in miliseconds than the bb but once reach the data plan limit, u have to pay more? haha

A Fair comparison would be 3 different wifi connections w/ same speed, 1 for each device, and not an Iphone 4 or Nexus S, More like an iphone 5 and tegra device, as usual, BB is a few years behind

it's funny how people say it's slower than phones from a year ago. How slow is it? Really. Can you even time it with a stop watch? Please. It's the experience after that counts...the time difference between all is negligible. At least they are showing improvements with this gen of phones. It will take a dual core Android to beat it.
