After all this nitpicking over minutia, one fact remains:
CO2 levels in the Triassic and Jurassic were some 20x higher where life clearly thrived, WITHOUT A RUNAWAY GREENHOUSE! 6144 global core and stalagmite samples confirm this.
Going back further, the Carboniferous was an expanse of huge forests due to the extra CO2, it's what plants breathe. That's where we get our fossil fuels. Where do you think all that CO2 came from in the first place? The atmosphere.
CO2 levels were higher in the past. It was a lot warmer and drier back then. We wouldn't do too good in that climate.
There is no "ideal" CO2 level. However, we built our civilization in a very short time. We build cities near the coast, never even thinking that the water levels will rise. We take things like fresh water for granted, which is going to be a huge problem in the near future.
It's not that our current climate is anything special, it's just what we built our civilization on.
CO2 levels now are generally way below what the average was some millions of years ago, around 1000ppm.
Be aware that "warm and wet, cold and dry" is how anthropologists describe past climates. Local climatic patterns tend to be far shorter in duration.
You're right, we have little idea of what the world should be as accurate records rarely exist and we haven't been in the picture very long. Note that land mass floating on the mantle shifts up and down too.
This is a case of, Do as I say, not as I do. The elitist will continue to live in their four mansions and fly on private jets and run up electric bills 20X of the rest of us. Of course these people will kill off billions of humans that can not be supported with green farming and will not include themselves on that list. The rest of us, the great unwashed to the elitists, will have to live in caves
We know that death and power attract only low types. The elite's obsession with these things proves they have inferior genes. According to Eugenics, it is the elites, not us, who are the ones that should be culled.

When your state endures record drought, heatwaves, wildfires, and crop failure maybe you'll reconsider your ignorance of Climate Change. Throw your child to the wolves, that's the American way I guess now.
Tell me what state, what country you live in, and I'll show you irrefutable proof of climate change impacts in your area.
My hometown in California is suffering from long lasting drought, and one of my best friends has to constantly battle wildfires that occur more and more often every year, not to mention the decreasing crop yields the state faces and the loss of snowpack which sustains our agriculture.
Tell me why " scientists" on your side have to lie? Tell me why volcanos porduce far more " green house gases" than all of human civilisation? Start thinking for yourself.
again, which STATE are you in, I'll give you a report about how climate change will impact your state.
The emails was 2 scientists making misleading claims out of TENS OF THOUSANDS of scientists who have dedicated their lives to showing how climate change is happening, and is impacting our lives right now.
This is an issue of human survival, doing nothing to fight climate change is the end of life as we know it on this planet, and that's based on scientific consensus.
Volcanoes produce more green house gases than the entire history of humans. It is undeniable. Your 3 word answer simply doesn't explane that. The only scientific consensus, is by people who have allready made up their minds. There are scientists all over the world who dissagree.
One of the leading scientific promoters of global warming says the climate-change treaty being negotiated by the world's governments is so deeply flawed, it should be scrapped.
James Hansen, who runs NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, said it would be better for the planet if nothing comes out of the global conference on climate change next week in Copenhagen .
sure, the offers on the table are imperfect, but they put legislative laws in place which can be changed to cut emissions even greater as the implications of climate change become more transparent.
More importantly, it puts a price on carbon, which introduces the factor of environmental cost into worldwide economics, which has been ignored for an entire century.
So who is gonna pay the "volcano tax" In 1 single eruption Mt. St. Helans put out more carbon than the ENTIRE history of the United States! Why do you ignore this fact.
More facts for you to ignore. New research finds that the airborne fraction of carbon dioxide has not increased either during the past 150 years or during the most recent five. And boom goes the dynamite!
The airborne fraction is a scaling factor defined as the ratio of the annual increase in atmospheric CO2 to the CO2 emissions from anthropogenic sources. It represents the proportion of human emitted CO2 that remains in the atmosphere. The fraction averages about 50%, meaning that approximately half the human-emitted CO2 is absorbed by ocean and land surfaces. However, other sources suggest that the "fraction of carbon dioxide has not increased either during the past 150 years ".
The airborne fraction (might) have been constant over the last 150 years. The CO2 levels have risen by 35% over this period. As long as the airborne fraction is above zero the CO2 levels will rise.
This is from the 2007 IPCC report: "There is yet no statistically significant trend in the CO2 growth rate since 1958 .... This 'airborne fraction' has shown little variation over this period."
This is not a "bombshell" paper. All it does is confirrm the IPCC 2007 report.
Only 3 percent of carbon dioxide comes from man's activities, according to the U.N.'s committee, while 97 percent comes from other sources (volcanoes, forest fires, livestock digestion, decay of vegetation). Carbon dioxide from these sources is identical to that coming from fossil fuels.
>> "Only 3 percent of carbon dioxide comes from man's activities . . ."
I don't think you understand the carbon cycle. Almost all of the carbon that is emitted, by humans or otherwise, is absorbed. That's why the level normally remains constant. We are increasing emissions past the point where the Earth can absorb it. When this happens the level rises.
Volcanic activity contributes less than we do. That's not the point though. Volcanic activity isn't changing. The only contribution it will have is to keep the CO2 levels constant, which is what we want. Our emissions are changing things.
And just for the record, we contribute more to CO2 emissions than all volcanic activity. This is an easily verified fact, which makes me wonder why so many people make the opposite claim.
Back @ you Glasya, my new friend. I really am enjoying this conversation with you. You don't attack me personally, and I apreaciate it. Lets keep this going, and maby we both will learn something.
How about this " info" I'd like to recommend a book by Laurence Solomon, "The Deniers," which details the views of some of the more than 31,000 eminent scientists who are skeptical of the science being used in promoting this hoax.
I looked into that book and I am not impressed. They list a bunch of quotes from scientists that makes them sound like AGW skeptics. Look into it a little bit.
David Bromwich: "it's hard to see a global warming signal from the mainland of Antarctica right now."
Read the article this comes from (I can send the link if you want it). Bromwich believes in man-made global warming. This quote was clearly taken out of context.
And where do these 31,000 scientists come from? It sounds like this book is actually taking the Oregon Petition seriously. That alone is enough to dismiss the book.
Richard Tol, who was mentioned in the book as a global warming denier was a bit surprised by that claim. He said so himself.
Basically, the authors took a bunch of stuff out of context. They are lying to you. Simple as that.
