Does anybody know the orignal TV show on which this appeared?
Also, when comparing this to the 1966 Hollywood Palace Bing Crosby clip, the guys look much younger here. I know that the date for this clip is published as 1966 elsewhere, but it seems that it should be earlier.
These lyrics are some of the best. That guy Mercer was responsible for some of the most sophisticated lyrics ever. When I listen to trash that passes for lyrics nowadays it makes me want to laugh.
On the second recording they did with Count Basie they recorded this with the addition of a special verse written especially for the session by it's composer Johnny Mercer.
this song has been stuck in my head for three weeks, ever since I saw this video. And, I don't mind.

The main singer, Harry Mills, was loaded with personality. Dean Martin said that Harry Mills was his role model.
