@mrsanimefreako no, actually, you've got it all wrong. i think the reason why kotaro doesn't think of sonomi as a girlfriend is not because they've known each other since childhood. heck, it's totally the opposite if that were the case. i mean, they've been friends since kids, so that's a more reason to say that sonomi should be kotaro's gf other than the girl he just met a day or two ago. BUT, that's not the case. BECAUSE, all kotaro can think of sonomi is a FRIEND. nothing more, nothing less.

I think I'd try every trick in the book if I were her as well. It'd be the same for you and the person you become infatuated with, you wouldn't go: 'Oh I'll drop you for this guy/girl that came along two days ago even though we've been friends for 14 years and have more memories and I am scripted in life to be dumped.'
this episode truly showed what the meaning of what is meant to be is meant to be. . . no matter how much she likes him, no matter how long their history is (childhood friend or whatever) he doesn't like her that way. . . so she can't do anything about it. . . you can't "try your best" in situations like that. . . bcuz there's very little to no chance that your feelings will be returned. . . I sortta feel sorry for her in a sense . .
