New webcam! Logitech QuickCam Sphere AF HD

Hey there: Could someone answer me in a CIVILIZED fashion(No insults, No sarcasm no BS) the following questions??? !! PLEASE!!!..

1. is this Camera compatible with WINDOWS 7

2. if so, do you know where I may download the drivers??..

@ianwilson1978 Thanks man.. I am Just having the HARDEST DARN TIME GETTING MINE TO WORK.. i contacted the company.. They sent me this link.. I went there downloaded the drives. It worked well for a couple of days. However, for some reason, my camera is down.. i do not know what to do. I even have gotten rid of the logitech drives on my hard disk and Reloaded them again..

This Wencam has a lot of background noise and it has no option to block the echo and the background noise. Who can help me solve that issue. I have tried but couldn't find any option in Advanced Settings as mentioned online.

@bubba97h Yeah it comes with a CD which has some effects on. Never really used them though.

I think this Web cam seriously needs to drop in price. £70Quids just to much, It ruins the buy. The stand that Attach's to the base via mini usb is a pain in tha fukkin dick! it disconnects randomly whilst re-arranging the cams position or fitting. The software bundled with the cam appears very Amateurish you can tell its the same software that comes with £6 cams. The cam it self feels very lightweight & cheap hopefully a programmer will release better software plug-ins etc to spice this cam up.

@PL585 I agree it's quite flimsy and pretty expensive. Still, it's been great for me generally- the quality I get with my mini reviews is great. Auto focus is a little temperamental sometimes though.

@ianwilson1978 Yeah I guess, I still love this cam though =) The hd I don't get mine comes out a little white washed (960x720)(HD). What's the main difference between the MP version & AF whats MP stand for :S

I brought this, (£70 Play.com) u left out the bit about the stand being flimsy & cheap. I'm very disappointed @ Logitech. I was under the impression they where a Descent company following a recent purchase of Z-10 Speakers (£50 Ebuyer) which came nicely packaged & were half descent. I think the price has a great impact of the products worthiness & Logitech are a little over priced. Had I paid full wack for my speakers I would of been disappointed. The "Drivers" are a big Issue & LCD overheats.

The Logitech QuickCam Sphere AF looks good when the image is still but theres seems to be alot of motion blur and for 80 quid i dunno :S

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 seems to have a better framerate and less blur

I've only found the motion blur noticeable when I record my gameplay videos, overall though I've very happy. The main gripes for me would be auto focus can tend to be inconsistent (normally leave it off) and the main one is the recording mic is VERY sensitive- even on the lowest setting. I've got a deep voice it's a problem sometimes!

Have exactly the same cam. Works great. Drivers & Windows Vista don't always work as good. The cam draws quite a bit of power which can cause a few problems.

Yeah I've got a Dell Laptop with Vista and does shutdown occasionally without warning- I've only got 2GB Ram though so will upgrade to 4GB sometime and that should help. Might Autofocus can sometimes act odd but generally its a superb camera! :-)

Yeah I was the same mate, I was looking at HD camcorders etc... but then I thought why dont I try an HD webcam. Pleased I did, this is a great camera with excellent quality.:-D

Wow. That's one great quality webcam! The one I use to record mine is alright, but the sound quality is horrible. Your ones sound and picture is great.

Yeah mate- all in from recording the video to it being rendered in HD it took around 3 hours!

Got another video coming in a minute but in general it'll be one vid a night max giving the length of time it takes! :-)

You should buy yourself a gamebridge if you want to capture gameplay footage.

Also whats with the borders at the sides?

Webcam HD resolution is 960 x 720 so think that's why the borders are there. Published it 1280 x 720 but because of the above resolution think that's why it leaves the borders.

Just gonna use this for the gameply vids, its better than my old one and I like to talk as I'm playing the game. :-)

Add the following to your tags and it should stretch the video and lose the borders - yt:stretch=16:9

If you go to 'My Videos' and 'Uploaded Videos' click 'Edit' and on the left side of the following page you can add tags to your video. Just add yt:stretch=16:9 in there.

You also have the option to add tags when you upload your video, just add it in then and save the settings while it's uploading and it should be fine.

I had to do that with the video I uploaded last night.

Nice webcam by the way. I also use a Logitech but at 1280x720.

I think it does take some time, mate. I remember having to wait a bit.

I had an issue earlier today when my original video was fine but when I processed that in some video software it ended up with borders all round. tried that a few times but still same result.

In the end I had to delete those attempts and just upload the original video which meant ti wasn't in proper HD for some reason but it looks okay so I settled for that.

I think Youtube can be a bit strange sometimes.
