Charterfolge aber nie auf den höchsten Plätzen. Preise gab's wohl auch einige, Kohle haben sie sicher ebenfalls gemacht. Ist aber alles aus den 90ern bevor sich die Band trennte. Der Heppner singt aber in vielen anderen Projekten weiter.

zgadzam się calkowicie. I like Wolfsheim s music very much but this video is just another insult. Typical selfconceitedness that some Germans hold for Poles. "Ich zeig dir einen neuen sauberen land". I am negatively surprised by one of my favourite bands.

There is no line in this song that says "Ich zeig dir einen neuen sauberen land" you must be mistaken... theres a line with "Zauber" (magic) that sounds similar, but it's meaning is very different ;)

thanks, that changes the meaning slighletly indeed. Still in the video Poland is shown in a very stereotypical way. And the magic world the kid dreams of escaping to, is Germany of course :D

I am not hostile to Germany. I am just pissed off with the condescending attitude of one of my favourite bands to my country. Poland is less developed, of course, but for certain reasons, most of which were not our fault the recent war, that Poland did not start, and its implications - soviet occupation). In the video you can see that the kid escapes from Poland to a "magic world" and is stopped on a border, so my assumption was that is border with Germany, rather than with Russia;)

A lot of Polish people are desperate to leave Poland & work in Germany or Britain. Sad but true. I'm from Poland & I know it used to be grey & ugly in a lot of places. For some reason some artists don't go to glamourous locations such as Hawaii to shoot the videos. Maybe Wolfsheim couldn't afford to go there?

@Homoholic - In my opinion, grey and snowy doesn't necessarily mean ugly, I think this video looks and also sounds beautiful. Beautiful is subjective to your personal taste. Hawaii beautiful? Yes. I think Poland & Germany on a grey day with their historical architecture and landscape is a beautiful sight also, and it fits perfectly with this video. I do like to see the sun every few months though to keep away the seasonal depression and prevent excessive melatonin :)

As far as I understand it, the "magical place" is the world shown in TV.

Judging from the lyrics "a miracle here. a dream right there, it just was here and now it's gone, I show you my true being but you don't recognize me" I would say that Wolfsheim are talking about the false promises TV delivers and real live can't hold without people even noticing the illusion-

BTW, eastern Germany looks very similar to this. Stereotypical? No don't worry

Als ich kleiner war, habe ich mir wirklich vorgestellt, dass er mit seiner Angebeteten am Strand sitzt, eine Welt für sie erschafft und Ihr die Träume aus dem Meer fischt und sie das alles betrachtet, ihn dahinter aber nicht erkennt.

Klingt naiv, vor allem, wenn man näher drüber nachdenkt und einem klar wird, dass der Song wahrscheinlich nicht so ausgelegt ist;

dennoch erinnert es mich doch stark an das Vergangene.
