There was another episode involving a spitting cobra that turned on its owner, and either Roy or John had venom spit in his face, and after the other helped him wash away the venom, the other firefighter used a glass ashtray to protect his eyes and zapped the cobra with a CO2 extinguisher.

The most amusing part of this episode. Johnny takes his own respirations. Can't be done. One can only take their own pulse and BP. You would consciously slow down or speed up your breathing. Whats even funnier is when he feels his own forehead and tells Rampart, "patient is getting diaphoretic." 30 some years later and I still marvel that this inspired me to become a Paramedic way back then. We call em training video's!

There is an episode where they go into a house and find a Cobra snake in a bedroom. It bit a person there and they go to rescue him. Johnny uses an ashtray to shield his eyes from the snake spitting it's venom. They overcome the snake using a CO2 fire extinguisher!

I remember that one, but if I remember correctly they found the man with the snakebite...but Johnny got sprayed in the eyes, and Roy went back with the ashtray after washing out Johnny's eyes.

When they filmed the episode, the snake they used was defanged prior to filming.

Randy also said that shot had to be filmed over and over again because he instinctively kept pulling his leg out of the way. They complained to him to let the snake strike you before you wear the snake out....lol There would be no way protected or not I could let a snake strike my leg like that....lol
