Big hit summer of 66 just turned 13 and was spending my whole summer in the Pocono Mtns....this song always takes me back to Lake Wallenpaupack and all those happy days!!

Red rubber ball refers to the old saying "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning." Red sun in the morning means it's going to be a stormy time. He's in for a bad day. But I love this song, always have.
