  • Just so you know. To make the groin area easier, you could sew the sides first, the groin area secont, and the inner leg sceme last. At least that's what I do on regular pants to make sewing them easier.

  • This was so helpful. Your awesome! I want to make one for my brother. Can anyone give me a tip for how much fabric i need per piece? I'm new to sowing but i think i can do it with a rough estimation for how much material is needed for the front and back. Thank you!

  • VERY well worked out and instructed. Thanx a LOT for such a detailed tutorial! I plan on making a pair this week

  • Quick question: is C the groin/inner leg measurement? I'm a little confused.

  • @mangagirl137 nono, C is the gap of the little hole by the side you always see on Hakamas =)

  • A wonderful tutorial, and extremely easy to understand. Love how you made it so simple to modify to any size, that is very helpful. Thanks ever so much for posting this video.

  • @Ashyoochun aww thank u !

  • By waist length do you mean the measurement Around your waist[Circumference of your waist]. because by definition here waist length is the measurement from your apex to your waist.

  • @AtarashiiAkai circumference =)

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! i've looked at a lot of other Hakama tutorials and they were all sooooo confusing!! thank you for making this simple and easy to follow one!!!

  • Extremely helpful! ありがと!

  • Hi, I like the way you show everybody how to make hakama like this. =D

    But I have 1 question:

    Normally what kind of cloth for ppl to make hakama? Like polyester?

  • @Kakashi112233 I think it's just a personal prference what fabric you use =)? Polyester are nice to work with and dont crease as badly

  • @Kakashi112233 cotton is your best choice as its not too pricey like silk and easy to work with.

  • What is B for exactly?

  • I have a few questions:

    What is the waist band width?

    How/What is the measure for C? How far down should C go down the side of your leg?

    Is E how long you waist to your feet are?

    How do you determind the size of the Back Flap?

    Thank you so much! It would help a lot if you can answer these questions!

    I love this tutorial! :)

  • @PinkCheetah101

    C = this depends on how comfortable you are with the slits. Maybe 6 - 9inch?

    E = yup

    Back flap = personally I just do a rough gauge. I don't have any size to follow...I kinda just based it on the anime characters

  • @elpheal Thank you very much! This was very helpful!

    So should the waist belt be the width of the hole of the back flap? Depending on how big the hole you make?

  • genial tu tutoria only I don´t understand english T_T agradeceria si una alma caritativa le pone subtitulos en español :]

  • @Karicorfo go to the website and download the template ^^ Should be relatively easy without any knowledge in English

  • you are very talented ^^ I could never do something like this

  • I love this! You've made it so simple! Thankyuuu! By the way, is Letter B the measurement of your waist / 2?

  • @YoukaiNoKage Yeap!

    B = waist length / 2

  • FINALLY!!! Finally a tutorial for hakama dear..Gawd... D:

    Thankyou so muchie!

    Can you please maybe do a tutorial for the top part also?

    I really am confused on how to do/sew the collar...So please? :O
