Just so you know. To make the groin area easier, you could sew the sides first, the groin area secont, and the inner leg sceme last. At least that's what I do on regular pants to make sewing them easier.
Thanks for making this tutorial. Please advise / recommend a material and what settings on the sewing machine we should use (yes, I am a complete sewing virgin). :))
i reversed the pieces...by accident. but i can make it work. it wasn't your tutorial that was the issue. i just cut the material wrong. my mistake aside, im about 40% done now. great job on this...if you're curious i am doing kenshin from rurouni kenshin.
this was helpful to me and a great demonstration for people like me who are beginning their cosplay but i suck at sowing and i would gladly pay anyone to make one for me XD no seriously i would -__-'
This was so helpful. Your awesome! I want to make one for my brother. Can anyone give me a tip for how much fabric i need per piece? I'm new to sowing but i think i can do it with a rough estimation for how much material is needed for the front and back. Thank you!
I love your toturials!they are awesome easy made and very good to understand. for me as a german cosplayer starter its a big help.so I want to thank you for this awesome work you do!Thx a lot!
Thank you thank you thank you!! I'm going to the upcoming kawa kon and this helped a BUNCH!!the template was great also! Do you know where i can find a tutorial on a sakura cosplay(dress version) or a kosode top tutorial? I cabt seem to find them
A wonderful tutorial, and extremely easy to understand. Love how you made it so simple to modify to any size, that is very helpful. Thanks ever so much for posting this video.
By waist length do you mean the measurement Around your waist[Circumference of your waist]. because by definition here waist length is the measurement from your apex to your waist.

Quick question: is C the groin/inner leg measurement? I'm a little confused.
mangagirl137 1 year ago
@mangagirl137 nono, C is the gap of the little hole by the side you always see on Hakamas =)

Hi, I like the way you show everybody how to make hakama like this. =D
But I have 1 question:
Normally what kind of cloth for ppl to make hakama? Like polyester?
Kakashi112233 1 year ago
@Kakashi112233 I think it's just a personal prference what fabric you use =)? Polyester are nice to work with and dont crease as badly
elpheal 1 year ago
@Kakashi112233 cotton is your best choice as its not too pricey like silk and easy to work with.
KagaKiyomitsu 1 year ago
What is B for exactly?
Itazuki 1 year ago
I have a few questions:
What is the waist band width?
How/What is the measure for C? How far down should C go down the side of your leg?
Is E how long you waist to your feet are?
How do you determind the size of the Back Flap?
Thank you so much! It would help a lot if you can answer these questions!
I love this tutorial! :)
PinkCheetah101 1 year ago
@PinkCheetah101
C = this depends on how comfortable you are with the slits. Maybe 6 - 9inch?
E = yup
Back flap = personally I just do a rough gauge. I don't have any size to follow...I kinda just based it on the anime characters
elpheal 1 year ago
@elpheal Thank you very much! This was very helpful!
So should the waist belt be the width of the hole of the back flap? Depending on how big the hole you make?
PinkCheetah101 1 year ago
