  • but you sound NOTHING like a Jamaican. anybody who called you Jamaican apparently has never heard a Jamaican before or better yet, they have never been to Jamaica.

  • Ya know. i From dutch SXM (sint maarten) tooo and I live in the states now and EVERYONE assumes I from Jamaica ...

Don't blame the Americans.. they are REALLY BAD with Geography.. they think the world revolves around them

  • @virgo29virgo On the contrary, that is why we SHOULD blame the Americans... The world is bigger than the US of A

  • I can relate to you here, I went to Sydney, Austrailia back in 2001, and I was asked if I was Irish...Dutch...Scottish....but I'm from Yorkshire, in the North of England.

  • trini to de bone accent lol =) Go dutchie

  • TRUE TRUE TRUE

  • u actually sound like a Trini...in no way shape or form you sound like a Jamaican so anybody who call u Jamaican hasn't traveled.

  • I feel you brother, I from Dutch SXM too and I have been living in the states since '98 and I still have my accent and they ask me if I am from Jamaica also. And I say the same ting. Jamaica is not the only island in the Caribbean. Yes, ask me if I from the Caribbean please and thank you. LOL.

  • I thought you was a crucian or thomian deh man. Anyway nuff respects. Caribbean massive one time. But I get what you are saying. WHen they tell me that, I just kindly tell them I rep the Virgin Islands all day every day.

  • @m12980 Yessss his accent is very similar to the VI accent!!!!! I was convinced he was from the VI......its crazy!!!

  • i heard u man im from st.maarten 2

  • Im american with jamaican decent and I could tell from the start of a few words that you ARE NOT Jamaican. You have to forgive because some islanders that are not Jamaicans tell people that they are Jamaicans, thus causing everyone that sounds like you to think you're Jamaican.

  • It's ignorance brotha. If people knew the difference in accents from the islands, south and Central America, they would notice/know that you're clearly not Jamaican. Thanks for posting! Love the accent btw!

  • I love love the way you talk

  • all yall island ppl sound the same anyway

  • Ight the bul just want peeps to know He is NOT Jamaican or from Jamaica, I can respect that. BUT people who are just getting to know you or hear speak in American they are not more than likely gonna say ok he's from the Carribean they just not.

I was born and raised in the city but most of my family and my dad are from the country, I get you from down south? I'm not but I understand because I do have a certain twang to my speech pattern, Lordy don't let me come from down South on a visit the t

  • you don't sound Jamaican lool any Jamaican will tell you this.

  • He mad! JAMAICA BAWPPP BAWPPPPPPPPPP

  • ppl will mostly know about jamaica as we have done the most to get ourselves on the 'map' so to speak.

it may be annoying but i can understand why ppl will assume all caribbean accents are just jamaican if they are not really exposed to other accents.

  • Caribbean accents DO NOT sound similar to a Jamaican accent! Maybe some of you need to educate yourselves...I am Trinbagonian and I am tired of that shit. Ask me why I am from, don't make a assumptions. It is mostly a problem with Americans, I've lived in Canada and travel in Europe and I've never had someone told me I sound Jamaican, they asked what island I am from. But in America they constantly do it and it is no excuse...maybe geography should be taught more in school.

  • yoo i could relate to this....tis sxm i from and dey always sayin i sound jamaican

  • u cant really blame peole for mistakin you for a jamaican most non carribean people automatically assume u are Jamaican cause thats the most pupular island. u got all these popular artists all these athletes but also all these criminals comin from Jamaica so i dont mean to hurt ur feelings but besides Jamaica most people dont really kno about the caribbean islands everybody even non english speaking people at some point of their lives have heard the jamaican accent

  • Comment removed

  • @NicKingPapiChulo & since all these carribean accents sound similar to the Jamaican one to non Carribeans its normal for them to think u are jamaican the difference might be obvious to u but.... just tell them where u from & thats it if they keep callin u jamaican after that then they just stupid and nobody cant do anything about it

  • yo i from st.vincent and the grenadines and i really get fed up of people automatically assuming that i am from jamaica, but i aint one, big up to the caribbean!!

  • @Starberry950 Everyone in the USA doesn't think that way because I don't.Now u making generalizations that all Americans think that way.You couldn't possibly know that because you haven't talk every American.I also get what your trying to convey that all the Americans you come in contact automatically assume your Jamaican but they never took the time pay study differents accents and words eah other Caribbean people speak.I hear you honey just some people depending haven't heard other places.

  • i am Bahamian and plp ask mi if am from Jamaica clearly the accent is way different smh Bahamians say "bey" Jamaicans say "mon" i love the Caribbean lol

  • It's like how everyone assume anyone from a South America is a Mexican.

  • Jamaicans are probably more international

  • amen!! BUT THE PROBLEM IS SOME PEOPLE JUAT DON'T KNOW WHERE THE CARIBBEAN IS...SMH

  • uDo sound uFrom VI tho meh boi lol

  • @eyebareye Yesssssss I did swear he was from the VI mehson

  • I would not match your accent to you lol I just wasn't expecting it lol and I would have thought Jamaican too, because I don't know the dif

  • how do you think white jamaicans trinis and bajans feel, everyone thinks there from ireland england or scotland all of us in the west indies have it hard

  • Well, bro, to most of the world....the Caribbean accents sound pretty much the same. It would be impossible for us to distinguish the difference.

  • @nedatronics maybe you should listen better to the other Caribbean accents, because they are certainly different. I am from Trinidad and our accent is totally different to Jamaicans
