@rockcabbage no it wasn't stolen/ My friend was there at the time it happened and it was given to him after it was done with permission. he then gave it to me with permission. so it's not stolen.

I don't think the people being stopped and searched are quite as disposed to humor.
I'm guessing that the soldiers are required to perform a search in this scenario and are finding a way to liven up what oftentimes is a menial job. Buuut I'm not really sure if it's beneficial over simply maintaining a detatched and efficient persona.
