Heard this ONCE on Radio 1 in about 1983 and haven't tracked it down until now... thank you for posting this brilliant, evocative track and solving a 28-year mystery.
Blimey! I was beginning to doubt this record actually existed. I remember Janis Long on radio 1 playing this in 82-83ish and thinking it was great but didn't earn enough to buy singles etc. Been looking for since discovering YouTube etc. but a typo (auto de fe) got me thinking that no-one possesses it on planet earth
i saw auto de fe in early 80's at the reading festival supporting Big Country and The Stranglers.....never knew this song was produced by the lare great Phil Lynott.....the day after i saw them (Auto de Fe) , Thin Lizzie were playing and i think it was their last gig before Phil past away, and we were only there for the friday.
