I dunno man. I think as far as complete knowledge and technique goes royster is a bit better. Not taking anything away from Eric he's freakin incredible. I've never heard Eric play the odd time signatures that seem to come naturally to tony. I'd have to see more to really judge, but I've seen all there is on youtube from both drummers.

Ever heard the CD he came out with when he was 13 years old? Royster was doing a rhythm on each limb and each at a different tempo. Royster has him....but hey each drummer is different and has a different style. My personal preference goes to the kid.

@Em2300 bro its just personal preference, different playing styles...I've watched a lot of your stuff on youtube and its incredible. Personally I think there's no 'best' in this art form. I just love Thomas' playing, he brought something so unique and special to TMV. His jazz playing with Christian Scott reminds me of the Tony Williams. I hope you also appreciate the fine work these players are doing. You are truly blessed bro. inspiring us on the other side of the world. when u doin a MD fest?

@scaryguy32 Look closely at the linear fills and the speed at which he pulls them off. The superfast swirl around the kit he does a couple of times, is with more power and speed than Tony. But then keep in mind that Tony only have a third of the body weight to put behind each stroke....
