  • so you can live somewhere for a year and then know the traditions? Hmmm, not so sure. Doesn't feel authentic, especially the choice of drums...

  • @LyranaH Thanks for your thoughts. The drums are dried goards called a calabash, or in the local language where the songs come from they are called "mani". The songs and drum rhythms are traditional however the movement is not, and it is not supposed to be. This is a modern dance piece inspired by elements that come from the drum and song traditions of northern Ghana.
