  • ELSA is/was a charm ....

  • Cavett seems not to know quite what to do with her -- I think she's a little outside of his comfort zone. Too bad, I think she's fascinating.

  • Elsa who?

    Isadora who?

  • @cheeriosinabowl Elsa played the Bride of Frankenstein in the 1935 film. Isadora is the Founder of Modern Dance.

  • @cheeriosinabowl well how the fuckety-doodley-doo did you get here then?

  • @farfisa

... well, none of your fuckety-doodley-doo business, you asswipe.

    Get back into your closet.

  • @cheeriosinabowl I came out the closet a number of years ago you shit smeared dildo. Now go and play with your little cock.

  • she was the Bride of Frankenstein

  • More, I want more Elsa Lanchester and before this I would have said that I was simply a Laughton fan.

  • whatever their sexual preferences, it's obvious that their marriage was not only convenient but also suffused with warmth, humor, understanding and mutual admiration. both odd ducks and an oddly good fit--

  • @moiraregis i heard he was a real perverted asshole, but i dont know much about him, never cared much for him.. but i like her, even if her parents were socialists

  • Not so remarkable that she stayed married. She was a lesbian. It was a marriage of professional convenience.

  • How remarkable that she stayed married even though Charles was a homosexual...until his death of course

  • what a smart and talented person elsa lanchester was , wonderful and dick is always great

  • She is great,so charming and fun! Loved her childhood rememberance! She is dignified and yet completely approachable! I had such a crush on her years ago. When she was a young woman she was a beauty!!!!

  • What a delightful interview. I've read Elsa's autobiography. What a life...and what a character. Always entertaining, witty & outspoken. A fun & never boring lady, that's for sure! THANKS so much for sharing this fabulous footage with us! You've made my day & my week! Cheers! :)

  • what a lady :)

    love her

  • LOL!

    She is utterly adorable!

  • What a wonderful women - Laughton was lucky to have had her and her to have had him!

  • It was an off beat relationship-but they fitted one another perfectly .

  • Except that he was gay. lol

  • @lbr1234 Thats Dick Cavett for heaven sake...

  • @lbr1234 she played Katie Nanna in mary poppins right?

  • Wonderful. Great information about Isadora from one of the greatest actresses of the 20th century.

  • In her written bio-Elsa wrote of Isadora as being quite mad,and not that great a dancer-but perhaps her greatest talent ,Elsa thought, was helping to free woman from the straight and strict Victorians ideas.

  • Thanks, I'll have to read it one day. I always knew her from "The Bride of Frankenstein" and all her television appearances in the 1960's and 1970's. Now, its fun to watch her on DVDs in her 30's, 40's and 50's movie roles.

  • I think-the bio is called " Elsa Lancaster,Herself ".

  • Thanks for posting this. I find Elsa Lanchester so charismatic and witty in these clips. I love her stories.

  • Lanchester is my role model!

  • She's hilarious! I love her. She doesn't hide anything. I love the albums that she put out "Songs for a Smoke Filled Room" etc... this interview shows that side of her.... the playful, upfront, honest, brilliant woman she was.

  • Anhacus, you say that she was a lovely person, but your original comment was so nasty. Why? Do you usually say stuff like that about people? I never said she was a nun. I'm sure she had her negatives, but treat people with respect. None of us are perfect. You can criticize someone without being unpleasant about it.

  • Wonderful lady with that great 'understating'english humor. A great actress!

  • uhh nice! but my profile has better stuff! chck it out!

hey my computer has a wcam on it ne1 want to help me chat 03

  • To think that she was married to actor Charles Laughton a/k/a "The Hunchback of Norte Dame." The Bride of Frankenstein and the Hunchback. What a pair. LOL

  • What is the need to say things like that? I'm related to Elsa and it is very hurtful to hear someone talk about her like that.

  • How are you related as I am also related to her.

  • What a creep anhacus is. Elsa was a nice person. Look in the mirror next time you make such nasty comments.

  • I know she was a lovely person, but you're awfully naive to think she was some kind of nun. You need to do your research on Hollywood. You will be amazed.

  • Beautiful woman.

  • The Bride! Gosh!!

  • Hilarious.

  • A really fun lady, very entertaining to listen to!
