she's a deplorable immature egoist who eats up the limelight like a parasite. what an obsolete figure playing herself up to be something she will never attain; talented and valued.
LOVE it. I find it hilarious when people are full of themselves, then get taken down a notch, then try to recover "we both felt really great about it." Uh, yeh, sure ya did honey. Save face - oops, too late. Here's a tip for the future - GET OVER YOURSELF.
I was sitting in the front row and could really feel the bad dynamic in this interview. She had some good, critical questions which Mark of course answered as a professional.
However when she tried selling her book on the interview everything went downhill. Still interesting but it could have been so much better..
Not realizing that he/she is being used to generate good PR, some journalists get delusions of grandeur and grow convinced THEY are fascinating because famous/accomplished people take their calls and seem fascinated by idiotic rambling questions. Sadly for Sarah, her self-indulgent interview style didn't fly in front of 2000 people. Sarah concludes she was flamed because "it's the cost of being high profile, unfortunately." Newsflash for Sarah: microphones aren't high profile.
Does she not realize that SXSW had Dan Rather last year as a keynote? He was an excellent presentation to see how media has shifted over time, and didn't have to get into all the corporate crap that he dealt with as a journalist.
Mark could have been a great keynote, if only Sarah has researched her audience before deciding on the questions.
(and the Mark/Sarah interview felt like awkward sex)
this was not a venue issue, she was a horrible interviewer. When you PLUG YOUR OWN BOOK, you're making the interview about YOU not the interviewee, SHE'S STILL DOING IT IN THIS VIDEO, IT'S ALL ABOUT HER!!!! Please Sarah, SHUT THE HELL UP!
SXSW is not a "developer's conference," as she incorrectly categorized it. The audience includes designers, educators, journalists and students. The problem was in her delivery, which was amateur and unprofessional. Watch the video when SXSW releases it, and you decide. I teach journalism, and I have never seen a worse professional interviewer. I know that women have it tough when it comes to covering and participating in technology, but in this case, her gender was not the problem.
She is clueless about how to conduct an interview in front of an audience. She was not prepared for the interview. She tried to wing it. This is the result that you get when you wing it. A terrible Train Wreck. A Rank Amateur.
Say more. Talk less.

WTF? This is completely out of context for us, gasp, untouchable SXSW left-behinds. I hope only Lacy is the MSM reporter here and not you.
