this was amazing. I went out and got this movie after I saw the clip. It was like.''how do I not know about this?'' What with me being a huuuuge Mirren fan. Their chemistry is so powerful, and even though the movie itself wasn't a big success, I think it was totally worth watching. I mean, the woman was 60 when she filmed this, and that's gotta say something. She gets hotter with age, and it is unbelieveable! Just check out the Love Ranch trailer, and you'll see what i mean:)

I had to watch the commentaries to find the answer to that one, myself. According to commentary, the picnic and whatnot was arranged to be Rose's last day and it was assumed that the audience understood that it was all orchestrated--that she asked him to kill her. If you watch closely, there's a point where she touches his face as if to say goodbye and that's his cue to do it. There's more to it but I don't have enough room here to explain. I'm not sure if I will be buying the movie or not.
