Angela merkel is behaving just like hitler. She wanted the lisbon treaty to go ahead whether or not the irish voted yes. Why cant people see that this EU is undemocratic and is the same thing as communist soviet or fascist Nazi .
"However frustrating for them it is simply to early to know how we are going to move forward from this point" the referendum has no use because the answer has to be yes and i think we will all find it a lot more frustrating when the people speak but fail to be heard.
I am afraid when we are asked and then we answer but still they do as they please, those of us with a brain shall oppose as the process is no longer a democratic one.
@AlizeCiz I agree. EU is very convenient for German exporters because they have bigger open market without borders. From other side EU is like Eurokolkhoz.
Oh yes, the European Union is taking away the sovereignty of individual nations without national referendum. Just last week, they said that the budget plan of every member state has to be submitted to the European Commission before it goes to the national parliaments. This is so undemocratic. i also belive its germany trying to have another go at taking over the world, and so does my grandad who is 98 years old ! they are very sly and very brainy ppl, u have to watch out for them behind the scenes !!! there acting quiet but its all there idea, why dont america offer britain to join there country??? bcoz in the end its going to be join the eu or join america.
Honestly the German people are not too keen about the EU and most also oppose Afghanistan intervention. But a few days ago, our ex-chancellor Schröder published a text in a German newspaper. He claims that we should have Turkey etc. in the EU for it to form a worldwide leading union, under the leadership of Germany of course. So your gut feeling and that of your granddad ain't completely wrong, our politicians are nuts. We don't have any memorable anti-EU party, unfortunately.
@mischnix we will never join the eu if the germans are in charge, we won both world wars, so we should be the ones who run the eu, and we have beaten france a million times throughout history, we are the most powerfull in europe, so why should the germans be in charge, when we are the superior country in the eu, we will simply join the americans if we cannot be in control.
@mischnix our grandads did not die beating the germans for nothing ! we will not join the e.u because we will not be ruled/governed by the germans, we are the superiors, we have the best government, we are the most powerfull, we are the richest, we won the war, if u new anything about british politics u would no that we will not join the eu under a french/german rule. p.s our currency is also stronger than the euro, and good luck with greece
@donnyab pound is shit at the minuet but still worth more than the euro or the dollar, we owe £600billion but that will come down with our new government,
1) The fact the pound is worth more than a euro has no bearing on how well it is doing the value of the currency could be nominally set, we could introduce a new pound sterling tomorrow worth 10 euros if we wanted to.
2)We are over a trillion pounds in debt
3)The real advantage to having the pound sterling is we can set our own interest rates and print money to pay our debts
4)you have Gordon Brown to thank for us still having the pound
@mischnix we should be the ones who are in charge, we no how to make things happen, we had the biggest empire the world has ever seen, and if we had complete control over europe we would bring great things to the continent, because of our "experience" knowledge" and no-how. the germans and the british are the same geneticaly. but we cannot join if we cannot be the boss, so to speak" everytime germany has power it wants to start a war. and the french cannot be trusted, we should be the leaders.
EU is nothing more than Hitlers dream of a superpower... EU is not a democratic thing, just see how they litterly forced the lisabon treaty to be signed becourse they knew it was impossible to have the populations accept it... It must be mankinds biggest theft. . Every country should only have 1 vote that way everyone is Equal that is democracy.
Today the small countries are nothing more than puppet states in a big state/superpower

@Bigwullie1 Is it really? I view it as a bunch of worthless EU countries syphoning off german success, and germany complying because of their masochistic self-hatred.
@Bigwullie1 Wrong! That "the bully german wants to rule europe fairytale" is nonsense. You should focus more on Barroso and his compatriots instead of Germany. They are the ones who want to rule us all. I'm german and the vast majority of all germans is against the EU parliament. We distrust them like the irish do, and most of us think that it was Intolerable not to accept the irish "No" against those EU-criminals.
@Bigwullie1 u'r dead wrong, its about making europe one nation , imagine how much people are changing in europe , lil by lil europeans see there country as a european region, in one hundreds years europe well be one country and by far the most powerfull , europeans well never fight against each other again we are united and we rullt he world,
@Bigwullie1 I agree, and we Polish can see it exactly. UE is a tool which is used by Germany and France to control the whole Europe. The Great Britain I think can see it as well, but the situation of UK is different because its a island.
u guys r complete idiots, u have no idea what the EU is about. The treaty was intended to make the EU more democratic, which it did.
And if by ''take action'' u mean a revolution it's the most undemocratic statement i've heard from a fellow european in a very long time. A majority in every nation that is part of the EU voted for it, and yet u believe the minority should take matters in to their own hands and resort to violence. Uneducated idiots, do some REAL reading before u say anything.
@Kostasnascos problem with that statement is that the EU doesnt go based on Majority it needs all members to agree. The fact that ireland voted no means that the entire Libson treaty has no power but the other countries wont accept that.
@Murgent and because everybody weren't satisfied they changed it. That's not just how they do things in the EU, but in every democratically run country. That's why they kept altering the healthcare bill in the US, not enough democrats wanted to vote for it in the senate, so they changed it.
@mischnix voted to become part of the EU, and subsequently take part in future changes within the EU. There was no vote for that specific part in Sweden either, but we voted to become a part of the EU, as did the people of Germany. Some countries weren't happy with it though, so they changed it.
The Lisbon treaty was intended to make the EU more democratic. If you're not happy with the system, don't oppose it, change it for something better.
EU want steal only our money lets hope european union collapse thats like former soviet union EU will never work those leaders are to corrupt they dont care about peoples
@2BMIKE1569 Actually our government listened to us,took our concerns to the EU commission and then we got the Irish Guarantees and then in the 2nd Lisbon debate where the Yes side gave a real battle,we voted Yes with a higher turnout and a higher majority,Purely democratic.
Greece Inside The Euro Will Become A Police State google this link . Britain, to come up with funds to bail out Euro members in difficulty.,Article 122, which allows the EU to 'encourage' all its members, including Britain, to come up with funds to bail out Euro members in difficulty.
davidsimonsean: Another interesting thing is that in the U.S., congressman Ron Paul had questioned Bernanke of the Federal Reserve who had admitted (after looking over his shoulder to see if it was okay to answer...no, seriously) that the Federal Reserve could theoretically conduct a bailout for Greece.
@TheDustpile Tories need to GTFO from EU as soon as possible, there are no benefits for UK to be a member state. TO add more, Brits dont wanna be in EU anyway.
At least at a nation-"state" level, the individual has some opportunity for justice in combatting the corruption of public officials, for the basic reason that in a smaller apparatus there are fewer levels of deceipt through which one must travel. Whereas, in a centralized or federalized system of "state" control, the corruption is on a level and scale that virtually ties a ligiture around the vestules of "checks and balances", cutting off the vital flow of truth necessary to achieve redress.
All of this is because the EU leaders are all part of the new world order and thats why they went back for a second vote. This was'nt done on what the people wanted it is an elaborate fraud.
Yeah cause if you noticed. Sorry not sure if your for or against. But I heard from reading that Ireland was the only country that allowed this to move to a vote among its people.
what a lot of people dont realise is; that voting for iisbon means that we are handing over our freedom, that people have given their lives for. To be slaves of a superstate, who's leaders have no compassion or humanity for the ordinary people. In my opinion this of course is just another link in the chain, what chain you may ask...."ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT"
People don't realise and you also don't explain... maybe because it's a nonsense what you're saying.
Who are those leaders with no compassion or humanity for the ordinary people? The same that we have at national level? Must be, because they are the ones aproving EU law at the Council.
Everyone could see this coming years ago. Men in suits in lavish conferance halls. Endless reels of red tape and political jargon.
I reckon the next thing on the agenda is a one world goverment. I'm not saying thats a bad thing or a good thing but I know there will be lots of greedy little men queing up for their peice of it.
The Queen is part of the plan, we got 5 steps left before they have total control....i advise you and everybody else to be prepared, be armed to your teeth and protect youre loved ones....DONT FOLLOW THEIR RULES ND DONT FALL FOR THE ''QUARANTINE CAMPS''!!
For the Irish this was never about an Anti-Eu statement, this was people thinking for themselves as an intelligent people should and as such im disgusted at the council for forcing a decision and especially degrading the Laws of the European union
When Gordon Brown speaks I pay no attention, when Silvio Berlusconi speaks I laugh, when Nicholas Sarkozy speaks I think about his wife, when Angela Merkel speaks I listen.
at first i was in favour of the treaty..now i'm learning more..and heard that they change send soldiers from another country in eu and vice versa..that would be scary becuase those soldiers wont think twice at shooting you..since you're not one of their citizens. from malta.
No, it's a European para military police force, which will be able to work in any European country encase of public disorder. They are mainly Romanians, Polish, Italian and french soldier's.
My suspicion is that this "European Gendarmerie" is a figment of your imagination. I've never heard of it. Perhaps you would provide us with a valid source for your manifold allegations?
For someone whose never heard of it, you spelt it better than me. I think there is a Sky News Clip on here somewhere showing them training for public disorder, and they don't look very friendly.
they didnt respect our no vote the first time...only fools voted yes to this treaty....where are all these jobs the yes voters were promised ???.......
Congratulations to the thick Irish people. It looks like you've let all of the people of europe down by voting yes this time even though you were forced to revote on the exact same treaty. Well done morons
I voted yes for the first vote. But for the second vote i voted No. If we voted yes the first time around would we have had a second vote??
We are in the deepest recession of any counttry in europe. At the moment, If our head of government said black was white the leading opposition party would disagree. But for some reason on the treaty of Lisbon. Our 3 biggest parties, all in oppostion on every other issue are all saying to vote yes. What is going on? I swear on my life someting is going on
That is such a speculative and superstitious statement. What a generalization. There is not a single anti Lisbon statement in Ireland with a factual foundation, you seem like the type of person who has been scare mongered into believing that the new minimum wage will be €1.84 by misleading conservative posters. Thank god the treaty came through and was not a repetition of last year's outcome, people like you make me feel embarrassed to be Irish.
Is really that speculative to think that we would not have had a second referendum if we said yes first time around? As a betting man i really doubt it.
I voted yes first time around because i agreed with the treay. But i voted No second time around because i felt our democracy was being undermined. Which is far more important than commissioners, Eu president etc.
Scaremongering? Did you not see that poster doing the rounds "Im safer in europe" Vote yes. Safer from what? Thats scaremongering.
and the posters saying we need europe ........but in the end its us who needs europe but europe no longer needs us...ireland was forced to say yes...lets see now where this yes vote will take us...........
I like ireland a lot, but let's be honest though. Less then a century ago your country was held in a serious famine, and citizens were emigrating by the minute. Not at least by brittish oppression sadly. The EU made ireland an example of its economic power, also to convince the britts of its importance. You're amongst the richest countries now, yet not really convinced.. Anti-EU when things go well, pro-EU when jobs are lost. What is it you want..
I have huge respect for Angela Merkel. I read her recent autobiography (called "funny bunny") and it was really hilarious. When one of Europe's major leaders has such a good sense of humour in her writings, we need have no fear about a more united Europe. Evertyhing will be done "in the best possible taste" (as the late Kenny Everett used to say).
well to be honest i have no respect for anyone who does not accept the answer they were givin and then put my elected goverment uner massive pressure to hold another vote until angela merkel gets the answer she wants...just goes to show the way she thinks.....and how little she thinks of us....
I hope everyone understands the importance of this treaty, there is no going back if this treaty gets in, if you dont understand it dont vote it in just a quick word on the scare tatics being used by this government about jobs when france n holland refused it they actually got more foreign investment (look it up urself the european constition then they changed it to a treaty so only the heads of state can ratify it.why did they not let d democratic people vote.why give away over half of ur power
PRAY THE ROSARY - SHOW WE STILL LOVE HER, and She will defeat Lisbon as she has defeated Satan in the past. He changes his name, but don't be deceived.
NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.
YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.
The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.
We are asked to vote "no" again becasue the boys who support the yes vote have not learned the Meaning of "no" from their partners,Sarcozy:Madame can we do it again.....Lady:NO im tired!!!,Sarcozy:why not,i pay you alot of money,i look after you,Lady:i know you do,but your very small........,put it away its embarassing,Sarcozy:you Bitch, ill wait till you are asleep and then ill pounce like a french snail...........
'If' it wins. You mean 'when' it wins. Paddy Power are offering odds of 1/25 on a Yes vote tomorrow. The odds against a No vote have lengthened to 8/1, with William Hill offering 8/1 against. Boyle Bookmakers have already paid out a five figure sum in Euro to someone who backed money on a 'Yes' vote.
It's all over bar the shouting. YES is the only answer on Friday.
Last time around there was a resounding 'No' vote and I do not believe that that vote was rigged. I have no reason to believe that tomorrow's vote will be rigged. There is no history in this country of vote-rigging. Now, if Ireland were Afghanistan or Zimbabwe, then my views might be different.
IMO Europe does need a referendum... Voting NO is not voting us out of Europe, despite what campaign posters lead you to believe. Both sides have being straying away from the issue at hand and people are confussed.
The fact that we were ignored last time is enough to vote NO again. The reason for a 2nd is that we didn't understand it last time?? So they go out and confuse the people twice as much!
To be fair both sides are using scare tactics, and lies!
But the fact we are asked to vote again on the exact same treaty, just because its not what the politicians want is beyond mental! That in itself is enough reason to vote no!
The European Commission has been accused of "unlawful" interference in Ireland's referendum after paying for a 16-page guide to the Lisbon Treaty to be
inserted into national newspapers.
Campaigners for a "No" vote have threatened a legal challenge after 1.1 million copies of the European Union booklet were distributed, at a cost to the
I will be voting No again. These guys have no respect for democracy and won't respect our democratic rights. They WILL get it passed at the second attempt but at least the world has seen them for what they truly are - undemocratic and morally corrupt.
Well I don't agree with you there, the past and the present the EU has always been supporting Ireland. And if you mean by not listening to us by our own government making us vote again the fact is if we vote no again Lisbon is gone for good.
If the EU supported Ireland then it wouldn't have bullied the government into making us vote again. It's a bit laughable to blame the second referendum on the government (as woeful as they have been in power) as it's Sarkozy and co who are desperate to see it ratified.
I see the Czech President is now trying to check whether it can legally be ratified. Hopefully these measures can consign the Treaty to the dustbin where it belongs.
If it's so wonderful let every EU country vote on it.
It's the government that is out of line. The Oireachtas already accepted the treaty. To resort to a referendum to get a different result, at the whim of the current anti-European propaganda is cowardly.
Shouldn't Cowan be more loyal to the Oireachtas? The Irish people certainly should. Vote YES to the Treaty of Lisbon on Friday.
Sol i dont agree if it is another no vote then we have lisburn 3, i cant understand how you sit on your computer everyday blacklisting us no voters, so maybe you think it's great to lose your history, heritage i dont and it's strange how only yesterday the eu lent us a half a billon euros for the new windmill project when weve been asken them for 2 years. its strange how only 3 days to our biggest vote against this neo natzi eu gave us that RECAL HE WHO STANDS FOR NOTHING WILL FALL FOR EVERYTHING
Vote yes IRELAND is a KIP already ran by a pack of CURUPT politicians laughing at every1 DRIVING AROUND IN BMWS PAID for by us thicks with our TAX money.............................
ill vote ves im satisfied that the things that im worried about (taxation abortion militerization and wages) are not affected by the lisbon treaty but if anybody wants to warn me about other things that will affect ireland badly feel free to tell me b4 i vote
If the EU make new changes to this treaty that we have not foreseen. Say they decide to make Ireland a dumping ground for their waste - we as a minority and with very little say, because of our size, will be silenced!!
of course the eu wil make new changes, the treaty is self-amending which means they can change it in whatever way they please without ever needing to consult you or seek your permission or approval
those concessions Ireland obtained in the treaty......aren't worth the paper they are written on
did they find anything from there?? 0:53

Jobs vanishing, projects halting, prices rising, house prices falling, banks bust, debts escalating, wages frozen, unemployment rising, pensions threatened.
Have YOU got a future in The EU they promised you much and delivered misery.
Never mind your politicians and their parasites they don't care they won't take a pay cut.
So Ireland's future largest export will be their children

Honestly the German people are not too keen about the EU and most also oppose Afghanistan intervention. But a few days ago, our ex-chancellor Schröder published a text in a German newspaper. He claims that we should have Turkey etc. in the EU for it to form a worldwide leading union, under the leadership of Germany of course. So your gut feeling and that of your granddad ain't completely wrong, our politicians are nuts. We don't have any memorable anti-EU party, unfortunately.
mischnix 1 year ago
@mischnix we will never join the eu if the germans are in charge, we won both world wars, so we should be the ones who run the eu, and we have beaten france a million times throughout history, we are the most powerfull in europe, so why should the germans be in charge, when we are the superior country in the eu, we will simply join the americans if we cannot be in control.
british123able 1 year ago
@british123able
Well each country has its good and bad sides, but hasn't britain joined the EU already? Or which country do you mean with "we"?
mischnix 1 year ago
@mischnix our grandads did not die beating the germans for nothing ! we will not join the e.u because we will not be ruled/governed by the germans, we are the superiors, we have the best government, we are the most powerfull, we are the richest, we won the war, if u new anything about british politics u would no that we will not join the eu under a french/german rule. p.s our currency is also stronger than the euro, and good luck with greece

@donnyab pound is shit at the minuet but still worth more than the euro or the dollar, we owe £600billion but that will come down with our new government,
british123able 1 year ago
@british123able

5)given your previous innacuracies you have little claim to be a sound judgement on what the effect the Tories will have on our economy.

@mischnix we should be the ones who are in charge, we no how to make things happen, we had the biggest empire the world has ever seen, and if we had complete control over europe we would bring great things to the continent, because of our "experience" knowledge" and no-how. the germans and the british are the same geneticaly. but we cannot join if we cannot be the boss, so to speak" everytime germany has power it wants to start a war. and the french cannot be trusted, we should be the leaders.

u guys r complete idiots, u have no idea what the EU is about.

Murgent 1 year ago
@Murgent and because everybody weren't satisfied they changed it. That's not just how they do things in the EU, but in every democratically run country. That's why they kept altering the healthcare bill in the US, not enough democrats wanted to vote for it in the senate, so they changed it.

"A majority in every nation that is part of the EU voted for it,"
We people here in Germany had no chance to vote NO or YES. Neither did most of the other peoples.

YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.

SolanoIRL09 2 years ago
