Maybe Rick should remember when it was discovered that Eric was really Bridget's father and not Ridge. He should remember how he thought that would get his parents together again and they could be a family again. But instead of making any effort to get back with Eric, Brooke married Grant to make Ridge jealous not even caring what her kids wanted only what SHE wanted, Ridge. How Grant made his family miserable and finally he tried to end it by shooting Grant!

That would be a good approach.

Rick might have remembered if Ridge hadn't told him that he(Rick)shot Grant Chambers. Taylor said she needed to talk to Rick and make his mind vunerable and cause him to remember, but thanks to Ridge, Rick's mind has built up a more tighter defense around that incident than ever.
