With the new timing, wouldn't it come natural to apply TAS timing?
For some stars it makes quite a difference wther you stop the time when catching it in the air or when you're on the ground. But you couldn't just read the time from the timer...
UWR stands for un-tied world record. As in no one shares the time with you. Only you have it. TWR means it's a tied world record. So more than one person has that record. A TWR in this case would mean someone else has 18"4x. If someone wants a UWR over me, they need to be faster than 18"40
Oh man, I'm really happy about the TWR thing, I never thought the way you guys ruled a TWR was good, a lot of people could get WRs without even optimizing their runs, that were something that really bothered me, but since I'm no one in the SM64 scene and the competition has been like this since a long time, I kept my mouth shut. Amazing run anyways sir =D
@xAfterDawnx No dust Jumpdives+Slidekicks are very hard to do, but we're talking about SS so it's really a valid question :P
So, speedrunners already raped Mario 64 to death to where it ends in less than 5 minutes, so they move on to Mario 74. And as long as there are good romhackers in the world, the cycle may never end.

those dives = optimal strat? no slidekicks?
xAfterDawnx 8 months ago
@xAfterDawnx
Slidekicks are difficult and don't always work because they can go too far, and they wouldn't save enough for me to care.
