  • Good CD to me~kinda special~u know, like Smiley Smile- The Beach Boys, erm and Little Games - The Yardbirds~ there's some speciality inside them but hard to see it~

  • This is where Topper would have come in handy. But still a cool song.

  • We all got one thing.....They were The Clash!!!!!

  • i like the album cos it s so 80' but i wonder how they did manage to play this after dunno white riot or complete control ...

  • Rhodes ruined some great songs the fat twat !

  • Man,its better than The Beach Boys - Summer In Paradise~

  • I love this song.

  • fuck you haters, this a classic.

  • This is hilariously awful.

  • anni che non trovavo questa canzone che è legata a un preciso momento della mia vita, avevo 16 anni, quasi ventanni

  • Wow. I have this album. I have about everything the Clash ever did. But I haven't listened to this since I first got the record. Its not bad, not bad at all.

  • The song is far better in live versions; Bernie Rodes fucked the recoring.

  • fuck all yall, this album rules..

  • This album is underrated.

  • yeah,and low won!

  • What's wrong with this song?

  • @Donkeyn00b Nothing

  • THIS ALBUM GETS SLAGGED COS IT WAS THE CLASH and they were gods in the UK... even tho it's just Joe & Paul, if this had been a debut by a new band it would be considered a monster of an album. C'mon - the worst Clash album is still better than a hell of a lot

  • It's interesting to ponder what would have happened if Bernie Rhodes had kept his paws off this album. It might've at least been better than what we ended up with.

  • you can say crap about this but 2 best albums were the clash (1st one) and give em enough rope

  • This is A FUCKIN ROCKIN SONG !!!

  • Useless CD

  • Ugh. What an annoying song.

  • This is NOT The Clash!

  • Oh after all , this isn´t so bad. Not as good as WITH Mick, but this is good too.

  • cut the crap wasn't my favorite. but it has some nice songs in hear. this is england, we are the clash and dirty punk.

  • @sbritt1994 and dictator

  • This is a great album. Really fresh and different. If you don´t like it why do you waste your time listening and posting about it?

  • @Themeffect This isnt their best, but I think that people who say that this is crap are "doing what they've been told". Rolling Stone hates this album, kids read it and they have prejudice.

  • Utterly shit

  • This album will always be special to me despite the fact that it isnt that good, this is the first punk rock album i ever listened to it sparked my intrest in punk. For that I am greatfull.

  • The clash is great but....this one is a crappy album xDDD. Only 2 good songs.

  • i actually liked a few songs from this album, but they made this song because jones and the drummer went on tour as "the real clash" that got Strummer pissed so he made this. i like the chorus it sounds ballsy

  • this album was a dissapointment but there were two good trackes on this one Mohawks were out of style when this came out

  • @chinasherry1961 that was the point of having one!

  • @chinasherry1961 then i guess im outta style i got a mohawk lol

  • this album was a dissapointment but there were two good trackes on this one

  • The concept of Cut The Grap being a bad album, is merely a bullshit point of view created by journalist and rock-critics by the time the album come out.

No true fun of the band, should keep repeting that stupidity.

The album may said to be as good as, say, Givem enough rope.

The band was somewhat eclectic and ar-revolutioning, so no one caring about the depth of its ideosyncracy would fall into the nonsense of telling the bullshit of this one not being a great album, with many good songs.

  • @titomayor

VERY well put! Especially the bit about the journalists. I love this album.

  • This song is pretty decent. I didn't know there was anything decent besides This Is England on cut the Crap

  • Cut the Crap rules. You're a fucking idiot.

  • Mick Jones was definitely a massive part of the clash- without him, there is no clash.

    Strummer without Jones= Fail xD

  • @Naoideagnochatri I suggest you listen to the mescaleros, you are very mistaken.

  • @36clashfan77 I've listened to them millions of times. They're alright but Mick Jones is so underrated.

  • @Naoideagnochatri More like Clash without Strummer = fail

  • @raptors11111 The Clash were never without Strummer. From when it started in 1975 until it ended in 1985, Strummer and Simonon were always there. But they got rid of Jones.. the biggest mistake they ever made.

  • @Naoideagnochatri thats because they listened to rhodes

  • @MatheusBond They shouldn't have :( Mick Jones was fundamental to the clash.. he should never have been kicked out :(

  • Why Bernie Why?!

  • I give to this album 2 stars

  • What a shit album Cut the Crap was. Still, this and This is England aren't bad songs, despite that fucking beatbox.

  • i hate this album it is a crap but I like this song hahaha

  • God damn you, Bernie Rhodes.

  • A PIOR MUSICA !

  • cut the crap is the worst clash album.

  • muito bom esse som, a melhor banda de todos tempos (na minha opinião).

  • give em enough rope and london calling.....2 off the the best albums ever writin

    long live joe strummer

  • this is the album that turned me against the clash:(

  • Bernie Roads ruined the The Clash version 2. They had some decent tunes until he produced the shit out of them and kept out the band from playing in the studio.

  • A lot of people don't like this ending version of the Clash, right before the break up but I think if the record holds up it holds up and it does have a lot of good stuff on it, particulairly this one

  • The riff sounds like Sex Pistols

  • amazing album..even without mick...you have to accept it!!

  • definitively a good underated album

  • Absolute fucking tripe. If you find a copy: burn it.

  • @apollozero Fuck you faggot.

  • We are NOT the clash I think you'll find

  • that background singing isnt REAL clash..

  • This album has its good songs.....We are the clash, Dictator, Are you Red...y, all very sick songs, but when you compare this album to Sandanista or Combat Rock it cant compete

  • This album didn't really count did it? Come on!

  • Why not?

    it's very good

  • The Clash are great!! Cut the Crap is a brilliant album even without Mick and Topper

  • I feel the same way that SHYGUY and jakyboy do, however, they had legal right to the name so they were The Clash (at the time). Following your logic, you could say that Topper was not in The Clash since he usurped Terry's spot on the drums. How far do you go back? London SS, anyone?

  • the London SS would seem like a kewl band, especially because it had good old micky leading it, i'm 12

  • @SuperSHYGUY101 shyguy, ur only 10 almost 11.

  • NO! you are NOT the clash!

  • It's kind of ironic that half of the members of the Clash did not sing or produce this. But good song anyway. =)

  • This song would be cool if it actually had Mick and Topper. Singing "We Are The Clash" when half the band is missing is just lame.

  • Give Em Enough Rope from 1978 , London Calling from 1979 and Sandinista from 1980 are my favoritealbums by The Clash ,but Cut The Crap album from 1985 doesn´t feel like a REAL Clash album without Topper Headon and Mick Jones! Well, "This is England and this song are two okay songs but Cut The Crap is NOT their best album! The real Clash died after the Combat Rock album from 1982 :(

    R.I.P. Joe Strummer

  • in all honesty i dont think the clash have one bad song

  • @louiscfc93 The Clash is my favorite band, but they have a few less than good songs, to name one or two: Red Angel Dragnet, or one of their experimentals: Silicone on Sapphire(?). But in fact, their unreleased song, The Beautiful People are Ugly too, is my favorite.

  • And the anthem is way too scarily Maoist, like they're trying to convince themselves that they're keeping it real.

Listen to 'Clash City Rockers' if you want a real version of this song.

  • This album was about Joe and Paul feeing guilty for fucking up the croup. This is not a Clash album. The real Clash started with the first album, peaked with Sandinista, and died with Combat Rock.

  • combat rock was a triumph. i just listened to it.

  • I don't like the choir-sort of thing in this song... It doesn't sound like Clash at all!

But other than that, it's an OK song.

  • it kills me to see these comments and reviews about this album. I think this was the BEST clash album ever.

  • i can understand u liking it but was not the best album by the clash. any clash die hard would know the clash must have jones and topper with out em, there is no clash it's just joe strummer. it's a nice album to listen to once every 3 years

  • toro...are you fucking kidding us???

  • to be honest london calling is my favorite but this song and dirty punk are fucking awesome.

  • What a shame... this song is really good!

  • this is fek all like sandanista

  • Excellent song! I love this album. It's under rated, just like "Sandinista!"

  • the thing that kills me about this album it had alot of potential!

  • it's a good song....

  • It needed Mick Jones.

  • @sgk1967

Well, that is a musically correct conformist view.

  • @sgk1967 agreed

  • Nobodies? Norman Watt-Roy and Mickey Gallagher provided bass and the keyboards respectively.

It's just this album is a little mediocre compared to their other albums but still good.

  • You know, i actually like Cut The Crap. I know it wasn't their best album, but its worth the £2.99 i paid for it.

  • Yeah $ 6.99 here; its no combat rock, but its better than that shawdy mascleros emo stuff :-/

  • Drum machine was the only problem on this album nothing else, anyhow this album was fine. Fucking Bernie the stupid idiot.

  • i agree 100% this is a pretty solid album without mick and topper and the drum machine is whats killing it....and maybe a lil overproduced

  • So true man . ... on the other hand he made them , so i cannot spit @ his memory but i feel nostalgic , just as i do for other reasons , 4 lennon & b.lee .

  • yah :D!

  • bad, bad album. Pretty cool song.

  • its difficult to produce something better than London Calling,i mean maybe impossible...

    maybe Belgrade Calling :)

  • This album could have been great, you can find the original versions of most of the songs here on youtube.

  • yh i agree from the earlier comment, this album is rubbish from other clash albums but it is so much better than some of the chart albums now

  • that drum machine is soo badd FUCK YOU BERNIE!!

  • Joe is as much if not more to blame.

  • nah Joe didn't have much to do with it...read "passion is fashion: the story of the clash" , everyone admits Joe was dominated by Bernie throughout the clash years. That is why it took so long to sack him cause Joe took ages to get the courage to stand up to him. Equally during the recording of this the band admitted they had very little to with it, Joe would just write it and sing it...the entire production was done bu Bernie..so don't try and tarnish Joe's Legacy

  • I'm not tarnishing his legacy, I'm trying to be truthful about Saint Joe. Read Vince White's book "Out of Control: The Last Days of The Clash" as a counterpoint to Pat and Marcus Grey's book. According to session man Michael Fayne, Joe spent two weeks with him in Camden programming the drum machine. Yes Bernie was at the helm, manipulating the weak minded Joe, but that doesn't mean Joe shouldn't have stepped up if he really thought it was a bad move.

  • awesom...first time i've heard this song i was like UAAAOOOO!!! and plu...jones and topper was already gone...but this is a good track anyway..!!

    I miss you joe!!

  • its crap yet 10 times better than the shit out today

  • 100 times better than what we have today,

  • Joe must've wanted to get back to the energy ot first Clash LP's. 4 of the tunes are listenable. Better than his solo " Earthquake weather " cd. The early Clash releases were different between North America & the U.K.

  • this is good except for "we are the clash" chants

  • How could they of made a song called " we are the Clash " ?

And also , why does the percussion sound like its been shitty synth generated. And why is the backing vocals on every second line in all of the songs on cut the crap?

Best album in the world : Sandinista!

Worst album in the world: Cut the Crap

  • I'll second that. Cut the Crap is crap!

  • a) it was the 80's. you gotta let a lot slide from the 80's. The neon and hairspray kinda rots the brain a bit. b) i'd take this over anything on MTV now any day, any time.

  • They made this song b/c Mick was trying to get with Topper and use the name The Clash so Joe wrote this song. And I wouldn't call this the worst album in the world. Granted, I don't like it but it beats a lot of other crap that comes out these days.

  • This song is really good just you can tell by the melody whos missing cough* Mick cough* and joe is just trying wayy to hard to move on without him

  • I think cut the crap actually isn´t that bad. Its just I cant stand thinking about that both Topper headon and Mick Jones had been kicked, and on top of that they make a song called we are the clash. Thats just not right.

  • This album was made long after Topper Headon & Mick Jones left the group, originally The Clash finished in 1983 but Joe & Paul tried to carry on carrying the torch.

  • This is great.

  • Yes qithout Topper it wasent the same- the clash with a drum machine lol what a joke!

  • I miss '80s Mohawks & The Clash!

  • The songs of this album are great, the problem is the production and the 'drum'.

  • Incredibly underrated song. Most people think that This is England is the only good song from Cut the Crap, but I´d say this is my favourite one.

  • agreed!

  • Cut The Crap was a bit of a let down and a low note to deaprt on but this is the stand out song by far

  • 3 CARD TRICK

  • i agree

  • terrific, nice one! 5/5
