  • How do they play this without laughing?

  • "Isn't that the most beautiful radiant sound that has ever been blessed upon your soul? It's exuberant tonality harmoniously blends the dying squeals of electronic goats with the melodic rapture of diarrhea bubbling from a coyotes crap-hole." AVGN

  • I have been in school orchestras that have made a coherent sound than this.

BUT that final parp from the trumpet just made me collapse in tears.....

  • This is Hilarious!! So Funny :D what an idear. And actually it is not easy to do. SO FUNNY!!!!

  • Dat Brass

  • THAT END MADE ME DIE LAUGHING

  • That last trumpet at the end XD

  • @bwc3821 I always start to laugh at that last "honk!" It's impossible to hold it!

  • "The Hell of the Mountain King" .....

  • Hall of The Mountain Derp

  • One of the highlights of the 1970's... if not THE highlight...

  • Oh yeah, the Bari Sax has got to go. He ruined the entire song by actually playing semi decent.

  • the end is perfection

  • It's so bad, it does a full orbit around the world, and goes right back to being good.

  • One hell of a drunk king, that's for sure

  • The mountain king sounds drunk off his ass.

  • Loved every note. I'm sorry that I did not buy the album, It could only be done by students

  • In the Hall of the Mountain King... there's been a lot of drinkin'.

  • its like rebecca black cloned herself 10fold and made an orchestra...

  • @EuphoniumMeister 1^10 = 1

    Math fail.

  • @SuperMi97 Lol true thanks for catching that

  • They're not even trying...

  • @MinamuTV They're not even playing their main instruments.

  • Gothicgrowler:

    That's Art m'boy!

  • @rumteetoo I have never heard of them two weeks ago, and I think they're great!! =D

  • Is this a joke? XD

  • Was that a freaking clarinet squeak?

  • at first i tought it was bullshit but this is fucking amazing !

  • Would you still go to Alton Towers if this was the theme tune?

  • ow

  • What's sad is that the Vegetable Orchestra of Vienna sounds more in tune.

  • Isn't it great when you're tone deaf, this sounds really good

  • I'm crying with laughter....thanks guys!!

  • Would love to see these guys live! Wish they would do a comeback

  • orgasmic.

  • Like if Radio 4 brought you here :)

  • I love the life lesson here telling me that I don't have to be perfect. :)

  • @RCTjunkie Depends on what you believe is perfect :P

  • This is perfection in every aspect

  • @BachStrad95 This is perfection in NO aspect :P

  • Let's rape another composer! Try Beethoven's 5th!

  • This is either the worst orchestra ever, or a group of evil geniuses.

  • @seleroan Evil geniuses! :-)

  • I'm hearing 12 different keys here...

  • Fantastic

  • I had no idea that the hall of the mountain king was full of clowns.

Also, I think this is the first time that this piece actually doesn't sound terrifying.

  • the sound bad... like a swarm of bees!!!

  • Having been a listener of Eno's work for decades I believe it's time to revive the Portsmouth Sinfonia. In it's new incarnation celebraties could be invited to play as members and charity concerts and recordings could be generated. Imagine George Clooney on clarinet, Kid Rock on trombone, Lang Lang on viola etc. etc. all for charity.

  • @Muttboom27 I think its time to revive this post on even more videos, via the copy/paste method.

  • @BobMillahhh . I really wish I could get this idea to Brian Eno. He could actually do it. I have tried to get it to him.

  • 19 people fail to appreciate pure so-bad-it-overflows-into-good awesomeness.

  • The crescendo sounds like a seven-car pile up during rush hour - coupled with the explosion of a semi filled with gasoline! Even MORE an "Epic FAIL" than the first clip!

  • if there is a soundtrack to hell, this is it

  • In the hall of mountain king... 7000 years later, with traffic jams everywhere and car horns tooting everywhere!

  • This is a joke, right?

  • @Mooncalfer Portsmouth Sinfonia, to sign in as a member you have to 1) Can't play the instrument you want to use, 2) If you're a musician, you have to pick a musical instrument you can't use.

You get terminated from the group if: You start to get better at playing your appointed musical instrument.

  • Sounds like there's a bari-sax and trombone in there that kind of knows what they're doing. Does that mean they'll get replaced soon?

  • @LizzybotXD Yep, or they could try another instruments.

  • @GigawingsVideo "The Portsmouth Sinfonia was an orchestra founded by a group of students at the Portsmouth School of Art in Portsmouth, England, in 1970. The Sinfonia had an unusual entrance requirement, in that players had to either be non-musicians, or if a musician, play an instrument that was entirely new to them"

  • @nocandy4u2 Yep, that's right, and I wish I could join them so I could play a Cello like mad.

    I'm completely music blind :p

  • Hahaaa!Oh my!Excellent!

  • In the key of A flat miner, no doubt.

  • The mountain king is PISSED.

  • @mairujyat "The mountain king is PISSED".... Such a simple, straightforward comment, but hysterical... Simply says it all. Thanks for the laugh!

  • The Jackson County Junior College Symphony's greatest hit!

  • g mayor

  • such passion. is that someone stamping their foot?

  • incontournable^^

  • Saturday night at the proms

  • Wow, you actually *can* still find original musicians on youtube !!

    EPIC !!

  • I love that one random guy at the very end.

  • @Kuyree35 Hell yeah xDD

  • AHAHAHAHS;LFKJASD;LFKJA oh my goodness i am laughing my ass off XD

  • How could anyone possibly get to the end...I would be laughing too hard to play. Awful :)

  • I love Michael Giacchino, but this reminds me ever so slightly of the LOST score.

  • @0:36 Aaaaagn!! TURNITOFF! TURNITOFF! TURNITOFF!

  • Well that was a uhm.....very nice try....

  • It's actually almost okay at first and then at 0:22 the wipe-out starts. Brilliant.

  • this version gives me chills

  • i would be laughing so hard trying to play along

  • 1:07 - 1:20 EPIC WIN!!

  • proof the flute is the easiest instrument to play. they sucked the least.

  • I'd love for them to re-orchestrate the entire Lord of the Rings-movie or some other epic. Pirates of the Caribbean perhaps? Harry Potter?

  • It seems as if every member is playing the song in a different key. It's such an epic, dense sound, that we just aren't ready for it yet

  • Pure genius.

  • I think Edvard Grieg would have wet himself laughing if he had heard this....

  • Correction, they are all musicians, but playing on instruments other than their main axe. This explains their great time feeling, but sloppy guesswork at the notes. Hysterical!!!

  • the worst playing of this melody. its a shame against Edvard Grieg

  • @paiwithapple Hey, it is only a joke! I was crying of laughing!

Anyway I like Grieg (even arranged this work solely on drums - not to well, though I took that seriously:)

  • That's different . ^_^ . I like it. Is it Portsmouth England or Portsmouth, Ohio in the USA ?

  • "You're playing the wrong notes!"

"No I'm not - just in the wrong order......"

    Genius........

  • at first i was like "wow.. this god awful"

at 0:23 i was laughing my ass off

its so crappy.. its a win!! (which i am sure was the point)

  • "this is god awful" i meant

  • Genius! This is comedy of the highest order!

  • Absolutely brilliant. This is comedy of the highest order!

  • Who would ever buy this crap?

  • Z҉A҉L҉G҉O̚̕̚ comes.

  • I think they should kick out the person playing that trombone or something at around 0:27. He's far too good to be in this orchestra.

And I do mean that sincerely.

  • @gotank pretty sure that's a sax

  • @EvanLHarper Alas you're probably correct. I thought so at first too, but then decided not to risk sounding stupid by calling it a sax when they're typically not part of the orchestra.

  • This never gets old! That trumpet player was epic at the end.

  • The only thing missing here is a vuvuzela...hahaha!

  • Like a wildhog choir strenghtened with a goose herd!!!:)))))))))))

    Faved! The end is magnificaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant!!!!!!!

This is the best foreband all over the world! To play after them is very greatful task.

Many thanks for laughing! I,m already crying...:)))))

(It is even worse and falser than my arrengement solely on drums, so I,ve got calm:) I say not in vain to me always (to make me happy): everything can be even worse!!!

  • In The Hall of the Mountain Derp.

  • oh god thats so out of tune no offence!

  • @1996abz2007 that's the point (:

  • XDDDD *dies of laughter*

    FUCK!!! CAN'T! STOP!! LAUGHING!!! X___X

  • How unsurprising that the flutes and upper woodwinds are a bit able to play and the brass section is pathetic.

  • Why didnt they have Florence Jenkins do the vocals??

  • They put the 'sin' in Sinfonia!

  • Oh dear.

  • reminds me of a school I worked at once; could never tell if the band was warming up or actually playing..

  • if devilish leprechauns ran a carnival, that's what this sounds like...

  • @kkmatt hahahahahahahaha....

    Best comment ever, maybe?

  • I laughed for like a week from this.

  • It is a symphony of people playing instruments that they don't normally play...

  • 1:08 ftw!

  • they sound like a symphony of retards

  • retards?

  • each musician is not playing his/her native instrument. brilliant.

  • I think it is the conductor who is deaf :D

  • I like the last tone there. ;)

  • AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

  • i wish they'd done longer pieces like the rite of spring or Romeo and Juliet overture... that would have been marvelous!!!

  • omg brilliant!!!

  • \m/

  • So are they all deaf or something?

  • WHAT THE CRAP IS THIS?!?! XD XD XD

  • Man, I read about this in MOJO this month and it's really not that bad. Granted, I listened to Metal Machine Music all the way through and the Shaggs, no doubt I'm warped, but this isn't in the suburbs of horrid the journo claimed it was. It's probably the scariest sounding rendition this side of Peter Lorre's whistled version in M.

  • This is Hillarius : D !!!! What a humor. Love it. Died From Laughter

  • Trumpet at the end is tearin' it up!

  • WE CRIED OF LAUGHTER 1:06 xD

  • This is the Garbage Day of classical music.

  • that is entirely the point that you seem to have missed. A lot of the "musicians" had never seen, let alone picked up the instrument they played as far I am aware and it was not ever done as a serious record. If you want a perfect recording, then avoid the Sinfonia.

  • the only way you could play with tis group is if you had never been a musician or were playing an instrument for the first time...so of course it sucked

  • Ich muss nochmal kommentieren -dieses Mal aber auf Deutsch: Das hört sich an - wie man bei uns sagt- 'wie wenn eine Geiss auf ein Blech pinkelt..'

  • @RavenAbraxas

    is doch aber absicht.

    ich finds echt lustig

  • OMG. These guys totally rule.

  • The end appears to be to fast for them, haha. Well, it seems they always have a brilliant percussion section on their side at least.

  • lol brillant

  • Woah, brilliant masterpiece of classical music!^^

  • pero esto es real?? es una broma no?

  • Si, es una broma. :)

  • How could I have been so dumb?

I commented on another... "rendition" of theirs already. I assumed thy were genuine.

But hey! It's all a big joke! They suck because they want to suck!

Nice try guys. You were succesfully inferior to my expectations :D

  • I want that CD!

  • esto suena como si mataran a un manati

  • i'm overcome by laughter!

  • It's like Pierre Boulez wrote this piece instead of Grieg.

  • I could SO listen to a whole concert of this.

And to think i can't listen to one whole pop song...

  • i prefer this over any type of hip hop and r&b, now that's for sure :D:D:D

  • @Jmsessn Then you crazy.

  • @Jmsessn racist

  • @neverenoughpuppies wtf, i'm i junglist souljah you ignorant shit, just get your fact straight before accusing someone with racism just because they hate a particular genre for bad quality, trash lyrics and being overly mainstream. shush!

  • @Jmsessn nichts gegen rap.

  • Better than some of the music in the charts at the moment!

  • @lincsposter Amen!

  • Very Regal :)

  • Was a great idea back then. Probably best left as a great memory in people's minds. Don't think it would work out if reformed nowadays. Just my opinion. Always be a fan myself though.

  • Are you kiddin? This stuff is tailor made for the internet.

  • This always makes me smile!! I love it!!!! =)

  • m2 ftw.

  • LOL!!!! It's like a bunch of dying cats trying to sing in tune.. MY EARS!!!!! BAHHHH!!!
