Would you care to explain? Our vision is a positive, internationalist vision; as opposed to the narrow nationalism of the EU. The world's borders do not end at Russia. Britain has many friends throughout the world because of its leadership of the Commonwealth. We should be trading with South Africa and India, China and Brazil. Nor the Commonwealth, which the UK does not have 'leadership.' They are sovereign states not part of a Sterling imperial trading area.

As a consequence I'm pragmatically pro EU. Never say never of course but I believe the UK has more leverage and influence as a major economy in the world's largest trading block than it would in 'splendid isolation.'

Indeed there are no laws but the EU is a protectionist racket. The Common Agricultural Policy is responsible for untold misery in Africa because it subsidises inefficient European farmers at the expense of African farmers whose existence is dependent upon exports.

What influence do we have in the EU? We abandoned our rebate for reform of the CAP, and it hasn't happened. Political influence is irrelevant in a globalised world.

Hannan is NOT British, if he was American he wouldn't be allowed to be President, he was born in Peru under a facist government where his family made money out of child labour (when he was 4 he was in south america) and supported a facist government. he has since lived in Spain and mainland europe. If you listen carefully to the video, codow, you will hear him state that the Conservatives would be holding a referendum to reverse Lisbon (if they win a majority in the Westminster elections).
