  • Great stuff. And I bet David Byrne would love what they've done with his song.

  • I saw this yesterday and at the end i thought: "uh, it was much better than seeing those old xmas movies!"

  • I love old people , and these cats are beautiful!

  • It's lame at first and then you're like "Huh, that's actually kinda cool.".

  • @FromTheLaurelFlower and then by the end you can't wait to get old so you can join the group.

  • すこし感動しました

  • These folks are so cool, I want to hang out with them!! <3!

  • I just watched the documentary and this is a favorite video from it. Loved the documentary and the singing.

  • I love to watch this video and all the other great stuff from Young@Heart. Every single singer of the group stands for Peter Pans idea - You can grow old - but you decide if you stay Young At Heart!

  • my brother is the tattoo artist!!

  • What a great surprise! I love 'em!

  • Just watching this video made me tear up, just like when I watched their movie in class

  • I watched a special about these guys the other night....it's true !! THEY ROCK !

  • I just love the way they preform this song, it's really good, I love to see them live. I would love to hear Fred do a Johnny Cash song, he has a great deep voice. Just love this group!!!!

  • @buckerm Fred died over 2 years ago.....

  • @rdcommish That saddens me to learn that.

  • @buckerm this actually his last performance with Young and Heart. At the start of "Fix You" you could hear his oxygen machine. Apparently, he never sang this style before, but was a classical singer. try and see the Young at Heart Documentary.....it was on PBS

  • This is my favourite! Love this group so much!

  • BEST EVER!

  • We are never old....Only the body is getting old. Soul is eternal.

  • Watching the PBS special, I can admit I did feel sad. Especially when they went to the correction center/prison.

  • Love the violinist's expression at 2:26.

  • Thanks for posting this! I saw this on PBS a month ago and the darn song is stuck in my head. I like this version by these old folks, better than the original by the original artist.

  • Good songs stay good songs .

Just see the movie, a great time .

    4ever young@heart dudes

  • these guys are like the grandparents I never got to meet!

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO ITS WIKED

  • For some odd reason, I was channel flicking, and came to "OPB" - Oregon public broadcasting, - and this popped on, and it just stuck in my head.

They did a very good job, considering all.

  • Love that it is a "PETER PAN" bus that they are on!

  • Yay for Young at Heart!!

  • The PBS show brought me to tears. THREE CHEERS for this group! I wish they were on iTunes so I could download songs and videos!!!!! I work with the mature and this is a wonderful group.

    :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

  • Inspiring...my road might just be the road to nowhere but with no regrets! Young at heart and living out loud. If you don't, who will?

  • 3:26 :D

  • Excellent! These people are amazing and fun and know what life is all about. And a word for falloutman84 and other critics- David Byrne performs with them on several of their songs and is obviously quite happy to share his music. Shame we aren't all so open minded. Watch the whole movie "Forever Young" and maybe you'll gain an appreciation of what they are doing. Hope I am that cool when I am in my 80's!

  • hahahahhaha :)

  • they have become immortal by doing this monumentary !!!!

    Respect

  • Yeeee ha ha haaaaaaa! That dude with the breathing machine is hilarious!! Yeeee ha ha haaaaaaa!

  • Respect to them - even if you can't find the original which may be frustrating I admit as I am also hunting that one down - these guys are well cool and I feel that my life has been enriched by finding this. Look on the positive side :)

  • The only problem I have with these videos is they only allow a very literal interpretation of the song. The reason I like Road To Nowhere is because it's not about being lost on the side of the road and getting a ride from some weird hippie guy. However, the song itself is really well done, as is most of the Young@Heart catalogue, and I liked the "mash-up" with Shout at the end... never thought about it before, but those two songs actually go really well together.

  • 'we may be lost but we're making good time'

  • we are on the road to nowhere .. so true...

  • I like them so much!

  • OMG, Young@Heart! I saw them ten years ago in London, and they were fucking AWESOME. Standing ovation, and I was in floods of tears. Just brilliant.

  • fantabulous!

  • Beautifully crafted film about an inspirational group of people.

  • loved it!

when i grow up, i wanna be like them!

  • såååå bra, älskar det <3

  • love it!!!

i hope i will be like that in ther age - still got long way to there but no matter:))

  • soooooo nice, i love it

  • this song is at the end of the movie religilous

  • i dont know what you mean to say by stating this, but "so?"

  • cause the song is awesome and so was the movie

  • Cool at any age. the movie is great ! If your over 50 You have to see it...

  • im 25 and i think anyone of any age should see it...my 16 and 17 niece and nephew loved it

  • I've watched this film a short while ago and I can't wait for the vid.... one of the most uplifting, saddest, funniest, captivating and moving films I've ever seen! What a tremendously interesting, joyful bunch of Golden Oldies, so Young At Heart!!!

Sad to learn about members dying and yet, their Joie de Vivre is so outstanding.... you think they just CAN'T die! FANTASTIC

Kiki (smiling when thinking of this movie!!)

  • @convoicev2

when I read your comment, I already guessed that your still a greenhorne (15 years, how cute ;))

Go back to your mam and wait a few years. Then you will wish yourself that you will be as great as they are when you're their age.

  • wow good video good low melody and high melody

  • great :-)

  • I bought this video (the film) on iTunes the other day. Let me tell you, its one of the best films you'll ever hope to see. These folks are amazing.

Side note: isn't it interesting that the tour bus they get on is a "Peter Pan" bus...never wanting to grow up :)

  • i didnt know it was on itunes!! i was hoping to find it somewhere so i could buy it! thanks!!

and yes its a great movie

  • Oh yeah, a lot of movies are on iTunes, plus TV Shows. The Young@Heart documentary is also on Netflix.

  • I went to see this film at the Curzon Soho last week and thought it was absolutely FANTASTIC! I laughed and cried alternately throughout - a rare sight! It's showing throughout the country over the next few weeks at selected cinemas. Make sure you check out the nearest showing to you, it's well worth it!

  • awesomeness!!!

  • loved the movie.... they're an inspiration to everybody of all ages! love them!!

  • does the movie have music videos in them like this?

  • yes it does... at least 3 if i'm not mistaken... one of my favorite "i wanna be sedated" from the ramones x)

  • yes, some

  • This is just amazing! They have so much spirit, what an inspiration for us all! I managed to catch the Young @ Heart film in America, but apparently it's out in England soon, so I'll be sure to catch it again. For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's an absolute must!!!

  • This movies cames to cannes, next year :-)

  • If you haven't seen the movie (Young @ Heart), it's absolutely wonderful.

  • Well if that isn't just random mean-spiritedness.

  • I would enjoy just sitting with these people and have a cup of coffee with them.

  • I wonder if that lady actually got tattooed, or if they just drew it on.

  • after seeing this movie I'm not afraid about becoming old anymore

  • They are wonderful....

  • I can't see it enough..they made me cry!

  • I've watched this song so many times in a row now...and I can't wait to watch it again. This is utterly beautiful.

  • they rock.so cool.

  • How is that depressing? Because an 80 year old can sing better than you?

  • I think its depressing, because a lot of much younger people throw their lifes away, or they did love the life lesser then those old people.

Its touching to see that it doesnt end if you rise over.

Thats touching, i hope so deeply that this movie also release in germany.

Sry for my bad english ^^

  • I love it!!!

I don't know why but the look at the violinist's face at 3:27 made me laugh :)

Maybe it's because she looks like a lady I visit at a nursing home. But through the whole thing I had a smile on my face :D

  • I want to be like this when I get seventy

  • I love it!!!

  • David Linch's film rulez )

  • This is fabulous! If David Byrne has seen this, I'm sure it brought a smile to his face. Not simply as a result of the amount of enthusiasm and talent that is shown by Young@Heart, but also because of the sweet justice served to his lyrics by a group of our elders, considering he wrote this song as a reflection on knowing, and accepting, death. I feel like this is a touchy subject for the elders of this world, but maybe I am simply ignorant because of my own youth. Either way, this is great!

  • lol, brilliant band. just like an american version of the Zimmers. awesome song

  • (no offence to you or indeed the zimmers - all fine folks & a good cause but . . .) Young@Heart were there first & exist as a genuine community choir, not a group put together for the purposes of a very well-intentioned TV show (BBC Panorama on the isolation & other problems facing UK pensioners). If you have the chance, watch the Y@H documentary - just about the most moving thing I've seen on screen - esp the journey towards the 'Fix You' performance - heartbreaking.

  • i know, don't worry. of course, their origins are completely different, but both the zimmers and young@heart are in a group for the same reason. to show how you can still be respected singers even at an old age. the one difference between both groups is that the simmers were brought together, and Y@H came together. either way, they both show how you can still earn respect at their age.

  • Agreed - they're both together for good reasons, but I don't know if TheZimmers exists outside of the TV prog, single release & press furore. I know that Y@H prob wouldn't exist were it not for their MD, who also seems to have a lot to do with their unorthodox playlist but I thought that the 'angry rockstar' antics that TheZimmers were asked to do seemed a bit daft. But, I'll shut up, as you're right - they both have done a good job in exposing the way we patronise or ignore older people.

  • thank you, but no need to apologize. the antics the zimmers were asked to perform were based generally on the fact that thier first song (my generation) was originally sung by the Who, who were renowned for being a young and rowdy bunch, smashing their instruments and such. but either way, i find that, because of the physical differences seen between the young and the aged, seeing the aged perform what has been for decades "a youthful thing" makes it more worthy of praise.

  • I didn't know that I'd apologised ;~) I think Roger Daltrey (& living chums) should have been involved in The Zimmers anyway (he turned 64 a few weeks ago). I still feel there's a real genuineness & heart to Y@H that I don't quite get from The Zimmers.

  • yeah, i know what you mean. it must have something to do with their roots, the way the band started. or perhaps its their style of singing, or because they seem friendlier. in any case, because everything in the world depends on different opinions, every is genuine, one way or another ^^

  • kick ass!!!! thanks for posting!!!! 56 stars!!!!!!

  • A wonderful video filmed in the Northampton Meadows. These people ROCK!!!!!!!

  • Love this song also love you guys

  • They are truly inspirational - as well as being entertaining.

  • Too much fun. I could watch every video this group performs!
