  • does the keyboard that you are using as an example have compatability with windows 7 reason 5?

  • I probably wouldn't take computer advice from a guy who doesn't know what a mouse is called...

  • Hi there,

I have a Casio WK-200 my mac does recognise the device but i want to play music using the speakers of the WK-200. For example i have composed music and exported it to iTunes and I want to play it using my WK-200 speakers. So you kinda get the point any tips please help.

    Thanks Cheers

  • @freddo256 - Hi. Just run a 3.5mm audio cable from the headphone output on your computer, to the audio input on the back of your WK200. If you don't have a 3.5mm audio cable, you can purchase a Casio 'Plug & Play Pack' from any Australian Casio musical instrument. The plug and play pack contains a 3.5mm mini jack audio cable, a USB cable and a non-slip ipod mat. RRP is $19.95 AU. Cheers.

  • @CasioAustralia01 Hi. Thanks so much for helping do you know where casio stores are at Sydney or if there is any other stores which i can buy the plug and play plug

  • I'm having trouble connecting my Casio Cyk-720 to my Mac, I don't have the driver that came with it but in the Manuel, it looks like it doesn't support max

  • At 3:56 , what key is that that turns local ctrl off?

  • @Artburg nvm i found it

  • Hi. Jus press 'FUNCTION' then scroll through the options until you see 'MIDI', then press 'ENTER'. Once in the 'MIDI' options, scroll through to 'LOCAL' and turn it to 'OFF'. Cheers.

  • When you said to plug the audio cable into the audio out on the computer, can i plug that into the the headphone jack instead, i dont have an audio in and out.

  • @Artburg - Yes, the headphone jack is an audio output so it is perfect to run out of that and into the audio input on the casio - we should have said 'audio out or headphone out' - thanks for pointing that out! :-) Cheers.

  • @CasioAustralia01 Thanks

  • does the casio plug and play pack come with the Casio CTK 6000?

  • @Artburg - Hi. The plug and play pack is sold separately. It retails for $19.95 AU. Cheers.

  • How can I play sounds from my casio keyboard into logic or garageband?????

  • @TheKemt1234 - Hi. You just need to go from the USB Midi output on the keyboard into the USB input on your computer. The Casio Plug & Play pack has the lead you need in it. Please note that if your Casio is an old generation model (i.e. more than 3 years old) you may need 3rd party drivers for your software to recognise the keyboard. All new Casio's have drivers built in for mac & pc. Cheers.

  • Im using a CTK-720, and it isn't being recognized on my mac. any tips?

  • @cashMoney8237 - Hi. This is an older generation model that does not have the Mac drivers built in. You may want to upgrade to a new model - from memory this is a non-touch sensitive model which will not give you any velocity on notes when you record MIDI. New touch sensitive keyboards with the Mac drivers built in are now very affordable! Alternatively, you could search for 3rd party drivers on line - you may have some luck. Cheers.

  • Can you give me some advice please? I am looking to buy a ctk 2200 or 4200. As i understand, both of these can function as a midi controller for various instrument packages, right? (such as in ableton live) Also, neither of them come with a power supply or usb cable? Finally, what are the substantial differences between these models? Thanks so much.

  • @Heathathnasoodua - Hi. The CTK-2100 is not touch sensitive and will not give you any velocity when you record MIDI. The CTK-4200 is a much better keyboard and is touch sensitive - much better for recording MIDI. In Australia most dealers supply a power supply and Casio Australia sell a PLUG & PLAY PACK which has a USB MIDI cable and audio cable in the pack. RRP $19.95. I would definitely go with the CTK4200 - it has better sound, back lit screen, 5 song 6 track recorder, split, layer & more.

  • @Goonesondeck - Hi, the WK-110 is an older generation Casio without the mac drivers built in so you will need to find 3rd party drivers on line and load them onto your mac, then it will work fine. Cheers.

  • Did I miss something in here? Apparently, you need to plug the headphone jack from the Mac into the line-IN on the keyboard if you want to play GarageBand on my Casio WK-200 keyboard. Is that correct?

  • @WJKlosterman - You only do that if you want to hear the sound of your computer played back through the speakers on the keyboard. Also, if you do that, you will need to go into 'function' and 'local' and turn the local off. This turns off the internal sounds on the keyboard so that you only hear your sounds from Garage Band. You can just let it play through the computer, but the sound may be soft without external speakers. Cheers.

  • How do u the keyboard casio keyboard sounds?

  • I am using a PX555R and i doesn't show up... Am I doing something wrong?

  • @MrGibguitar - Sorry, I'm not familiar with that model.

  • Hi, does the casio ctk-4200 work with a macbook using the casio plug and play pack usb, or do you need a usb to MIDI connection, thanks

  • @Ceeloworldscutestdog - Hi. Yes, the USB cable that comes in the Casio plug & play pack is designed to run from the USB port on your keyboard straight into the USB port on your computer to record MIDI. Cheers.

  • Hey I'm using the Casio Privia Px410 and it doesn't show up in GarageBand or anywhere on my Mac, the instructions and website say only works with windows but I was wondering if their is a driver I could install or something :) thanks

  • hi, I have the CDP 200R, and I use the USB to connect it to my mac on garageband, and it doesn't record properly. it uses the mac's built-in mic to record, so you hear my fingers hitting the keys. how do I make it so only the sound is on the recording?

  • @LoudlyUnspoken - Hi. You need to make sure when you are recording in GarageBand you are using 'Software Instrument' tracks. This will record MIDI tracks as you play your keyboard. You need to use a USB cable (like from the Casio plug & play pack) and run USB out of your keyboard to USB input of your computer. A notification will come up after you've connected saying 'the number of MIDI inputs has changed'. Sounds like you were recording with 'real instrument' track. Cheers.

  • Instead of going into Functions midi and turning sound off. why don't you just turn down the volume on the keyboard ? so much quicker and simpler :).

I have same keyboard and use it on my Mac with Garage Band too.

  • @adtellytv - We turn the local sound off because we are running the sound from the computer back through the keyboard speakers. If we just turned the volume down on the keyboard, you wouldn't hear anything from the computer! If we don't turn local off you would hear both the computer and keyboard. If you are using external monitors from your computer, you can just turn the volume down, but not if you are going headphone out of the computer back into the keyboard to use the keyboard speakers.

  • Brilliant. Brilliant, Brilliant. Awww cool looking forward to getting some soft synth work in with my CTK3000.

  • Grazie! Ho Seguito le istruzioni con il mio Casio CDP 200R e il MacBook Pro e funziona perfettamente!!

  • Thank you!!! You saved me a TON of money. I was tired of my old Casio CTK 471 and was coveting a new expensive keyboard. But then I saw this. I found a MIDI to USB cable for $5, and now my old Casio has a new life as a Garageband controller!! I have access to all the sounds, loops, packs, etc. in GB. plus I can create and save my own sounds! It beats any Yamaha studio costing thousands of $. Plus it was plug and play, no driver needed, no lag... Perfect!!

  • Hello. I have a Casio Px- 575R and I have tried endlessly to use it with my mac. I have tried to use the keyboard with and without drivers, but nothing seems to work for me. I do not see anywhere on the keyboard where it says anything about midi or connections. There is a light which tells you if there is data access between the computer and the keyboard. Is there something that I am doing wrong. Please help.

    Thanks!

  • @IndieMovies266 - Hi, sorry, I am not familiar with this model Casio. It must be an old one and therefore will not have USB MIDI. Only the privia models from around 2009 onwards have the USB MIDI output and will work out of the box with a mac. Cheers.

  • @IndieMovies266 Does the back of your KB have the USB or MIDI terminal?. Start with the Casio turned OFF, MAC ON. Then connect the cable. Then turn Garageband on. Go to the preferences and choose Audio/MIDI. For audio

in, choose System Setting. If it asks you to switch drivers, choose "Yes". (you don't need a driver, it's built into GB)

Then turn on your Casio and set the volume all the way down. Connect your headphones to your MAC. It should work.

  • Greetings all. I just bought a Casio CTK 5000 yesterday, am a producer, and i work with FL 9.

From what i noticed so far, i can only use the Casio CTK 5000 as a midi controller to control the sounds and instruments in FL. I want to record the sounds from my casio directly into FL, but how ?

  • @barisuangbor - Hi, I'm not sure what 'FL' is, but if you want to record the sounds from the keyboard, you need to use the stereo line outputs to record the sound - not MIDI. Cheers.

  • and if i have something recorded on my keyboard and i press play will it transfer over to the garrage band track just the same as if i were playing it?

  • what about with a clavinova piano?

    will it work the same?

  • Hi, I have a casio cdp-100 keyboard. I have a USB MIDi converter and garageband. I know i have to find the right driver, but i cant find it. I would be really happy if you could help me out with this one. :)

  • @JePpETwintupp - Hi. The CDP-100 is an older model and I have not used it with GarageBand or a Mac, sorry. I don't know if there are any drivers available. Only the newer generation Casio models will work with Macs straight out of the box (i.e. CDP-200 works with Mac / GarageBand). Cheers.

  • @CasioAustralia01 Thanks, anyways. :)

  • @mohit000071 - CTK5000 is a better model than the CTK3000 (more features and stereo line output). The CTK-3000 will still work fine for MIDI recording with any MIDI recording software.

  • can i do it wid ctk 5000.. for FL stuido or reason n allllll.reply fasst .plz

  • @mohit000071 - Hi. Yes, the CTK5000 (and all new Casio models) will output MIDI via USB. You can record via USB MIDI into any MIDI recoding software including Reason. Cheers.

  • @CasioAustralia01 thnx..god bless ..love from india

  • Respond to this video...nd yeah,,which1 is better CTK3000 or CTK5000??

  • @mohit000071 soryy not ctk5000 itz ctk3000..lol.my mistake..can we use ctk 300o wid fl studio,reason n all.....?? nd is ctk3000 bettr or ctk 5000???

  • can i do it wid ctk 5000...reply fasst .plz

  • i have a question, how can i play the sounds from the keyboard to the garageband i mean the sounds from keyboard not the instruments of garageband

  • @BillieJean900 - To record sounds from the keyboard you would need to run through the line output (or headphone out if your keyboard doesn't have line out) of the keyboard and into the computer (usually via a mixing desk). You need to create an real instrument track in GarageBand rather than a software instrument track. The benefit of using MIDI to record is that there is no quality loss, you can change sounds after the track has been recorded and can alter notes etc. Hope this helps.

  • Very helpful, thank you!

  • Can I do this with a Wk-500?

  • @LilKen52 - Hi. Yes, you can do this with every single Casio that has USB Midi output on the back (including the digital pianos). Cheers.

  • Could I hook my Casio Wk 110 To a garage band with live on a mac mini? cause Im thinkin of buyin one price isnt the problm but vista isnt helping me at all and i purched it just to play music X(

  • @Moonwatcher360 - Sorry for the delayed reply - you might have solved this one already. I think for this older model you will need third party drivers to work with a Mac - try a google search for Casio USB midi drivers. All newer Casio models (since around 2008/2009) work with Mac's straight out of the box - no drivers needed.

  • very simple, yet very helpful info

  • Can I get this to work with my CTK-900? I bought a MIDI to USB cable the other day and I haven't been able to get it to work. I have Win 7, the driver installed just fine but it doesn't seem to work in the software I use (Mixcraft, Fruity Loops, Reason.)

  • Thank you so much for your help! That was very helpful dude

  • I have a casio LK-230 how do you use the sounds from the keyboard and not garageband?

  • on CTK 3000 i will can do this? record midis then play after?

  • @mundomudado2010 - Hi. Yes, the CTK3000 has USB MIDI and will work the same.

  • i have a ctk 431, its pretty bad, and i have a usb cord for it, but it isnt working, do you think it is because of the keyboard? or is it because my cord has and in and an out? or some other reason?

  • @TheRealMikeGiaco - Hi. The CTK431 is an older model and will not (to my knowledge) work with Garage Band or Mac computers. You need one of the newer generation Casio's. If you're in the market for a new better quality keyboard, check out the CTK7000 - it will blow your mind! :-)

  • @CasioAustralia01 excellent! thanks for the help!

  • @CasioAustralia01 The casio I have is LK-30,its does not have MIDI, I got to get a better casio.

  • when you use the piano on garageband, can u play the other piano effects like synth leads, strings, organs,& other software instruments?

  • @jackassqwe1 - Hi. Yes, when you connect your Casio it becomes a MIDI controller - you can use any of the software instruments in Garage Band.

  • Is the CPD-200R compatible with ProTools (M-box1)?

  • @saxd6 - It acts as a midi controller (will spit out MIDI information) so will work with any MIDI recording program.

  • can you still plug it into an interface with the midi cable?

  • @recherpico - Depends on the model. Most of the Casio's use USB MIDI. Models like the PX330 & PX3 also have MIDI port outputs. Cheers.

  • Whats model casio is that?

  • @OrionSimm - It is a CDP200.

  • @CasioAustralia01 In my country, Norway, they have one called CDP200R. Is that the same version? If it is I don't get why they would put an "R" at the end if it is.

  • @GamerforceUnleashed - We just call it 'CDP200' in Australia, but it is in fact the CDP200R (same as what you have in Norway).

  • i have a CTK 800 and i was wondering if i can record without connecting it to my pc?

  • @DispencahereBOINK - You can record on the keyboard. Pretty sure the CTK800 has a 1 song 2 track recorder.

  • I connected WK 3300 on iMac and works great in GarageBand... I just installed plugin so Mac OS can recognize it...

  • does this work with FL studio 9?

  • @CentralRemixes - Sorry, don't know what that is.

  • Is it work on Fl studio?

  • I have just recently bought a WK200. Will this work on the WK200?

  • @astep4 - Yes. MIDI recording with a Mac & Garage Band will work on a WK200.

  • can you record your keyboard playing and the beats you put in at the same time? Can you also record your singing to the keyboard and beats you made?am trying to make a demo CD with garageband.

  • @MetroBoxer011 - You can't output the inbuilt Casio rhythms via MIDI - this would have to be done as an audio recording of the keyboards output. To record drums using MIDI you would need to play the drum part and then record your other tracks. To record your voice into Garage Band you would need to create an Audio track rather than a software instrument track and plug a mic in. Ideally you would use a mixing desk for this, but you can also just plug a mic in to the computer directly.

  • i got a prblem i have win xp and cant seem to connect the piano to the midi or usb..what do i need? guys help plsss...

  • how do you turn off the local for the ctk4000? cuz i read the istructions but i don't get it lol can someone please help me?

  • do those current $130 casio mini keyboard have midi out compatibility (I have a MIDI interface if that's necessary)

  • Not sure, but I don't think so. Cheers.

  • thanks bro...

  • i have a lk 300 tv and its a casio but gargeband wnt detect it help plz

  • The LK300TV is not part of the 'new generation' series, so is not Mac compatible out of the box. You can get third party Mac drivers on line which will probably make it work. I know you can get them for the CTK810 / WK110 (old models), so there might be one for the LK300TV. Cheers.

  • @CasioAustralia01 Has anyone found a driver for the Casio LK300TV for the Mac, I'm thinking of buying this keyboard but only if i can find a Mac driver for it.

  • @CasioAustralia01 Does anyone know where to get a Mac driver for the LK300TV, I haven't had any luck looking for one online and I'm thinking of buying this keyboard but only if I can connect it to my mac

  • hi everyone,i just bough a casio ctk 810,can it use to connect to my lbtop and to use into sonar 8.5 and sample tank 2..?help please...thanks.

  • The CTK810 is an older model and will not connect to a Mac out of the box. There are 3rd party drivers available for Mac on line if you hunt for them. If you're using a PC with Sonar, you should be able to connect okay with the drivers that come with the 810. Not sure on the process as I'm a Mac user. Hope this helps.

  • a question the CTK-3000 has local sound?

  • I'll look into this for you, but I'm pretty sure it's only the CTK4000 and up that have the option to turn off the local.

  • Thanks i buy it and yes have the local function good keyboard

  • i have a casio keyboard and i want to know how to transfer songs i recorded on the keyboard to my mac? Please Help

  • Hi. The way to transfer songs you have recorded in the keyboard's memory is to save them to an SD card (provided you have a model with an SD card reader). Once your information is saved to the SD card, put it into a card reader on your computer (these are either built in or you can get external units). You can then transfer the file from the card to your computer. The song will be in MIDI format.

  • Sorry, not sure how it works with Yamaha's.

  • The CDP200 digital piano is an excellent choice. It has all of the cool features of a keyboard with the benefit of the weighted scaled hammer action of a digital piano (same action as a real piano).

  • This will work with any MIDI recording software on Mac or PC. Should work find with Garage Band '08.

  • aha TOTO !
