  • Simply and well sung by Wolfe Tones.

    lyrics are narrative and understandable.

Boston beauty might have been a

    irish transcendent whose ancestors

had immigrated from Ireland and inhabited mostly at south part

of Boston when and after the potate famine had occured.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Hi wolfetones i love all your songs this song is very heart warming. Me & my 2 freinds copy a lot of Irish Related songs & play them here in Downtown Chicago in the Irish pubs. the appreciation we get from the crowd is 2nd to none. i myself am an ex pat the parents moved over here in 1987 lived in Boston for 2years then moved to Chicago here ever since, Wish ye would come over & do a gig sometime it would be a sell out Guranteed...

  • I love that song and it reminds me of a girl I knew in Tralee in 1971. Happy memories.

  • great song great singers!

  • GREAT POST THANKS

  • What a beautiful song, very well written and equally well performed by tommy burn, a great ballad singer ! Note he always sings the tough songs - i wonder why !

  • It is really fantastic, I went to a Wolfe Tones gig in Dublin last month and they were fantastic, Brian W and Tommy B were lovely, and I had my photo taken with them, awesome !

  • I seen them twice in concert, that's is when the four of them were togather. that was 1984, and 1994. they can put over a concert and still do. Brilliant.

  • They are certainly brilliant, I had a great time the night I saw them perform, at Taylors Tree Rock in Dublin 9 Aug.The room was absolutely crowded and heaving !

  • @josparkes1 Ay, I saw posters for a Wolfe Tones gig in Dublin on the internet...but I'm English...!?!

  • @HannahGrahamOfficial that wouldnt matter once you enjoy the songs................................... there not all what you think ya know

  • what a beautiful song, no better to sing it than tommy byrne. i feel so proud to be a friend of liam reilly, a pure legend

  • allthough you may not like me, i like you very much. you have so fine voices and play fine i hope someday you will come and play in my little town. PS. we have got you on the jukebox, in my pub and i play you often..

  • Happy St. Patricks Day to all from Boston,

  • Thank you from Norfolk. I love The W Tones, irrespective of the content of their songs. Tommy Byrnes is so talented, and the band are brilliant. Love this.

R U from Boston Massachussets ?(spelling ?) Erin go bragh

  • Yes, and the spelling is spot on ! Enjoy!

  • OK glad I got the spelling right !

    Love the W Tones

  • 2 t`s in Massachusetts. I worked in Boston for the last ten years, now I`m a cop in a suburb of it. I heard the Wolfe Tones are supposed to be coming to Boston sometime in the near future.

  • That's great, I hope they do come as they are legends and brilliant performers !

A classic childrens book 'What Katy did, and 'What Katy did next' was set in Boston, and I read them as a child, loved them, what's Boston like, it's supposed tobe rather posh isn't it ?

    Norfolk UK

    Female 59

  • Boston`s cool, mostly working class. Some parts are really posh, other parts not so much. Lots of Irish folks here. Southie and Charlestown especially. I used to work in Government Center. Theirs a lot of pubs and bars nearby at Fanieul Hall. My favorite is McCanns on Portland street.

  • Thanks for the reply. I went to an Irish pub in London called O Neill's in Camden on Euston Rd and it was a ripoff, nothing Irish about it. Hope yours are better pubs !

  • Theirs lots of good Irish pubs around here! The Kinsale, The Purple Shamrock, McCanns....Just to name a few.

  • That's really great, you are very lucky, I spose it's the next best thing to being in Ireland !

  • Out cast to some people. But that was not the real fealling of the irish people to wards to the tones. They had a huge following every body had a cd of them. And they filled concerts hall`s every time.

  • I'm not surprised, they are brilliant, I love their singing, 'Grace' is so beautiful, and also this song is wonderful and soul touching !

  • your a hun bastard.get to the other side of ireland you idiot.and take your fucking union jack with you...god bless ireland freedom

  • I'm pretty sure this song is about my aunt

  • im sure it is.

  • The Song is about the 1967 Boston Rose.

  • Am I right in thinking that The Boston Rose may have been a ship or something like that ?

    Let me know !

  • It is Bostons entry to 'The Rose of Tralee< contest held each year in Ireland. Its a type of beauty pageant to celebrate Irish emigrants.

  • Lovely ! Thanks for telling me about it. Great stuff, and a great band.

    Norfolk female 59

  • @josparkes no its an annual event in tralee every year, a girl from different counties and countries worldwide take part in a contest ,they must have irish connections in there family line. the event is in tralee and wash girl is a rose of the place they represent eg: rose of perth, rose of new york, rose of ulster etc... one girl is then crowned the winner overall.......... its to mark the irish wordwide :) this song was wrote in relation to the rose of boston who won the contest in 1967 or so

  • @machree01 could you explain it? : )

  • Fantastic !

  • what was immature about losing virginity to this song ? I thought it couldnt have been better, didn't hear her complain either !! Explain yourself a bit more !! It's a fantastic song, one which I actually perform myself !

  • I'm not saying she did complain, but you sound rather casual about this girl, perhaps I am being old fashioned, but I thought that the activity you were talking about should be regarded as special, and not just something where you did it to prove yourself. Have you ever seen the film American Pie, this film reminds me of you somehow. That's my explanation you asked for. Please write back and let me know what your thoughts are on this. Yes song great

  • Is that George Michael singing?

  • Its amazin cos i lost my virginity to a girl from Quincey outside Boston, in a student house in Stranmillis in 1994, to this song !!! never saw her again !! no internet then !!! godammmitt

  • It sounds like you were already planning to sew your next lot of wild oats !

Maybe she will see this comment of yours, but I don't know what message she 'd have for you.

prob be sympathetic because of your immaturity back then, and now.

  • We're talkin about smtg which happened about 15 years ago. I think its safe now !! Dont thin she'd be offended, maybe gald I remembered. People get very touchy about this stuff, plus as well this youtube is anonymous, or have I missed th point ??

  • You're prob right, perhaps she will see this on her PC, and contact you, if she remembers you !
