  • was playing heard on the German public radio station, "Bremen 1" - superb oldie, which is always great to hear. R.I.P. Buddy - all my love for 2012 from Germany.

  • I think the lifeless old people in the front row kinda ruined for me..too surreal :P

  • You guys are good.

  • Jozin z Bazin on bass!

  • Hey Man, ur a big man indeed, a few negative comments on here & all the ones Ive read you have answered very positively & with dignity. As far as the clips concerned, I hear you when you say it was 7 or 8 years ago, I hate seeing clips of old performances Ive done. For my part, I think its fine & trust me, I know my Buddy stuff very well >>> Keep keepin that fien name alive & good luck with all future shows ... In a world of negative & aggressive Internet comments your a huge part of the cure :)

  • well All right! excellent song choice bro!

  • Id go see these guys. And Im picky about my time and music. Sounds like itd be fun. Best Buddy Holly song ever is Well Alright. Its gangsta baby!

  • Great stuff.

  • The guitar is not heavy enough on the down beat. It should be accentuating it. "Buddy" is httin' it on the up beat & the "Crickets" are hitting it where it should be. The strumming hand needs to be heavier on the down, not the up strum if that makes any better sense. Only real things I see missing. Doesn't matter who wrote it. Buddy made it his. Singer doesn't have the yelp [Texas twang] in his voice as Buddy did. The beginning should almost be like he's hick-upping. Great tribute band though.

  • holy shit i couldn't tell that this wasn't buddy holly at first ----i figured it out by the vid. color and description----- but great job

  • @MrRaNdOmPOTATO Thanks! - This was a gig from 2003 - There is new stuff from 2010 on the site, same three guys and it's getting tighter and better.

  • The guitar playing hasn't the attack that Buddy had, but not bad!

  • @consul1957 True - I way prefer Buddy's playing to my own - Have you seen any of the 2010 videos - this one is from 2003...several hundred shows ago

  • hEJ tHOMAS

hOW ABOUT THIS ONE? lOVE pAPPA

  • Great work! I read a comment about the drums not going like that. You're telling me that they played Peggy Sue live the same was that was on the studio version. Sorry man, they didn't. What you hear on the studio versions isn't always how they played em. Let's see your Buddy Holly tribute, then we'll talk. Great music you're doing! don't listen to them haters. You did a very good job! Rock and Roll isn't meant for note for note, it comes from the heart and soul.

  • Drums does not go like that on Rave On.

  • Holly didn't write this one

  • @violinroy You're absolutely right it was West and Tilghman - I'll correct my post

  • this is horrible

  • @violinroy We can do better 7 years later and hundreds of shows under our belts... was it really that bad? wait..don't answer hahahaha!

  • @rockabillyotis Not it's not that bad, it's pretty good actually. :)

  • @rockabillyotis

I think this is very good.

Tribute shows and bands are tricky because people always expect to hear things "the right" way - i.e. the way THEY heard it the first time they heard it.

  • Thumbs up, man! tight sound for a 3 pc group! i played in a band that can't get that sound even with 6 people. One day I'll do a 3 pc when the right people come along.

  • Love the original better.

  • me too

  • come to odessa tx.. please

  • come to Australia we would love to see your show!

  • Great guitar work. Great performance. buddy lives forever

  • what an amazing energy under the scene....POGO!!

  • this is 2002 - the band is still going and has recent versions that sound quite a bit better - 500 performances later.

  • He's great.

  • these guys are amazing

    who are they ?

  • still love the way these guys do so much justice for Buddy's work!

  • I only wish I could front a band like this. The only time I ever have the confidence is when I let god be my wing man.

    God bless all.

  • Your deep my friend - It will happen for for you! Thanks for your kind words and your insight!

    Otis

  • your bass player is a lunatic luv his style

  • I sent him your comment and he said it brightened up his day - So Thanks!

    Otis

  • I hear ya on FM.

Love the energy you guys put into your work.

  • Love the double B

  • you guys sooo rock!!! Luv Buddy and you guys do an awesome tribute - Buddy must have a smile on his face looking down at u guys

  • Thanks CC, ironically that's almost word for word what the newspaper said - the headline was "Buddy must have been smiling down" (Cornwall reporter). Hope we can get out west for a tour (preferably in the summer) sometime in the next couple of years.

  • where is this band???

  • Eastern Ontario between Toronto and Montreal (Canada)

  • Great music! Thanks, my friend!

  • i saw the uddy holly story in feb (on stage) this song live was... something else

  • ank you

  • I never realized a stand up bass was that big, or that you don't have to keep it still when you play it. lol.

  • That looks like a 1/2-size bass. A 3/4 is the norm; a 4/4 is huge. He also doesn't use the end pin to make it taller.

  • i love the way you can never hear the stand up bass live. the bass player wouldn't have to know how to play a note

  • That's what I keep telling the bass player and he still wastes time rehearsing - LOL

  • sounds awsome you guys are tight!

  • Thanks Joe - Hope you can make it to one of our shows sometime.

  • I was in boot camp at San Diego the night Buddy Holly died. I remember our old gruffy Chief brought a radio in so we could listen to the stories and the music. So sad.

  • Thanks for sharing that - I love to hear the real deal! Otis

  • r.i.p buddy

  • I used to go to my grans every Sunday for dinner in the 60s. Dad's younger brothers played records on a huge 'radiogram' by Little Richard, Fats Domino - and Buddy Holly. For me, Buddy was the best. I wanted to copy his hiccup style of singing. I wanted to - and did - learn to play the guitar. To Charles Hardin Holley, professionally known as Buddy Holly; thank you so much for all you've done, we'll have a party together one day - and that'll be the day. God Bless.

  • Holly's vocal introduction is absolutely deadly.

  • R.I.P.

  • 50 yrs ago, today we lost the master of the stratocaster, his body is gone, but his spirit never left and still rocks with us

    Fed 3RD 1959- Feb 3RD 2009

  • Thanks for the greatness of Buddy!!!

    Feb 3, 1958

Tuesday will be the 50th year without him.

  • this is better than their lets play house lol but then again he might know all the words to buddy holly tracks wheres blue days black nights?

  • I like it

  • i had never heard of buddy holly intill yesterday!

  • Comment removed

  • i saw them in PA great show!

  • That was absolutely great. I damn near wept watching this. It was almost like being back in time seeing the real thing. These guys put on a phenomenal performance. Thanks for sharing the vid.

  • My pleasure - thanks for commenting - it is appreciated.

  • HEY! lets meet up! MSG me on m.s.n. ID is in my profile.

    hahahahhahhahah Ph

  • do these guys ever play out west @ shows?

  • These guys are the Fucking Bonb! Thamk you, kiddos, for being the best tribute group I have ever seen!

  • awesome! how can those people sit still? im seriously rockin over here and im not even on the front row!=)

  • Heh, watch the people closely. They never just sit still. They never even wiggle. They aren't real. Or are just a photo image put in front of the video. Like cardboard cutouts.

  • No they are quite real - check out Buddy Holly Live! Oh Boy encore from the same concert and you'll see them move - They were just listening to the show - we don't do any video image tricks

  • My apologise, rockabilly. I just didn't look closely enough the first time at the audience. But I really wasn't trying to be criticle. Thanks for the video.

  • i loved it!

  • LOVING IT!

  • This is awesome, who you guys playing for?

  • This was recorded live at The Weaveshed Performance Arts Centre in Cornwall, Ontario close to the Quebec border. This was the second of five sold out shows.

  • The bass player is more like Elvis's original bass player than like Mauldin.

  • how do you get these vids?

  • Excellent job, keep up the good work,Buddies music will live forever.

  • Very rare sound these days, loving it.

  • HELL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Great job guys!

Fantastic looking Buddy, and some real Crickets sound and feel there!

    Thanks for posting.

  • This is a great, energetic rendition of "Rave On"!

  • Rave On - Buddy Holly
