nice!I had the same bike!Kz650 with a kerke!sounded great!I was only 18 and new to four strokes!I remember hitting 80 in second regularlyLOL!I do prefer the harris 4-1 though,it boosts the power as well!I've got one on my Z1B(1075)sounds the nuts!I do love the 650 though, such a tight sorted little bike!I've got the 84 750turbo that kawasaki developed from a turbod 650!fucking UNREAL!They don't make bikes that have the charm of the zeds anymore!bandits, zephyrs, nice but YAWN!Good to see a Z650!!!
see i got one of these but no one has one that looks like mine im trying to find someone that does mines got the bitchbar and sheild so it looks alot different
Nice! I got the same bike in same color, luv it!!! I'd prefer the chromed version of Kerker, but love the sound nonetheless! Do you still have the OEM 4-into-2 exhaust, in good condition? Wanna sell?
OK, for those who do not know OR understand......these vintage Kerker pipes used an alloy strut to mount the exhaust to the TOP SHOCK MOUNT. The video doesn't show the strut installed yet. As the video is shot, I can see where some of you guys would mistakenly think the pipe is the wrong one for the bike....hehe, fear not, 'tis the correct model :)
Wrong Kerker muffler for your bike. Attachment bracket should be closer to the start of the muffler, that way it will bolt up to the frame not the MOVING shock mount. Be worthwhile getting a new bracket welded on.
Yes, you are correct......the later pipes all seemed to mount on that passenger peg. I looked for a very long time to find the correct pipe for this KZ. The very first series Kerker circa '76 or so had there mounts on the upper shock stud using a long steel or machined alloy strut.
Think about it, Big500......ajquick is right......That's right there are TWO shock mounts huh? Yup, the upper is the mounting point for the older series Kerker.

What kind of paint did you use? I need to do some headers and want something that will hold up for at least a couple years.

looking at the video I think he mistakenly thought it would bolt to the bottom mount as that's what was shown.
When I had my Z650's (a long time ago):lol The exhaust always bolted to the rear footrest mount.
I used Harris pipes on mine. Those were the days my friend. Oh yes

Dude, if you bolted it to the shock mount, what do you think would happen when you sat on the bike or went over a bump:lol:
Thats right the pipe would bend
