  • God I love this scene. Once he gets a hold of the Orange man, you know that no matter what, he will never let go of him.

  • Unbreakable is a blueprint for how a good original story, and especially a superhero origin story should be told. It is without a doubt Shyamalan's strongest film and - Airbender or not - testament to his talent; not simply as a director, but as a filmmaker.

  • This is simply the most realistically depicted superhero movie ever made. Not even Dark Knight is as realistic, not to say it's not good. This movie is pure genius as well. M. Night has surely fallen but I hope he can do it again.

  • AWESOME, AWESOME film! THIS is one of the best superhero movies ever made. So gritty and realistic and with so many nods to comic books in it! To think their could possible be people like this out there like this. Righting wrongs from the shadows unseen.

  • The movie simultaneously feels extremely realistic and low-key while also feeling undeniably like you are watching a comic book. This film is ingenious.

  • great movie, and one of the most satisfying bad guy defeats ever

  • i like the film a lot but I find the soundtrack really sappy and it spoils it for me. could be worse yea but it lets down the film

  • This just shows how important a good soundtrack is to a movie, this scene wouldn't be nearly as good without this music. The bit where he gets out of the pool and slowly stands up with the music blaring always gives me goosebumps.

  • 5 People are afright that John Macclane comes and strangle them!

  • How the hell did he go from this to the utter shit hes made now? He definately has a brain condition or something

  • My favorite "Superhero" movie ever, Most underrated

  • this makes me cry

  • Learn proper choking technique.. next time maybe it won't take 45 seconds.

  • So amazingly beautiful, and what a fantastic stuntman the cloaked man is.

  • Jesus, this is all one shot. Absolutely brilliant scene.

  • i d like to have some detailed information about chocking. how long can one last, what is the sign of death? is there a special sound that comes out when you die??

  • @overlevnadsoverall

With choking, it depends. Choking is simply an obstructed airway. If your lungs can't get oxygen, you go into hypoxia and die. If your airway is fully obstructed, there will be no sound. If partially obstructed, it depends on how long your body can efficiently compensate for losing oxygen before you enter respiratory failure, then respiratory arrest. Sounds of choking include gurgling, wheezing, crowing, and stridor (a pitched whistle). EMT training. Hope that helps

  • i d like to have some detailed information about chocking. how long can one last, what is the sign of death? is there a special sound that comes out when you die??

  • @overlevnadsoverall Also, the sign of death in choking would be blue skin, unresponsiveness, and lack of pulse.

  • the only and biggest problem I had with this movie was the pacing, at times I felt like it trie to do something but ends up doing it later or that it does nothing for a while, otherwise its a really astonishing movie that showed me how an everyday-person can become a superhero

  • 00:00 - 00:32 - Imagine the kids save Superman from a pool of Kryptonite or something and it's Superman standing before the kids, with Newton's music blasting.

  • @TheManuvision i dunno, just feels like that wouldn't be as effective. even though most superhero fiction tries to pull off the normal guy to superhero link, in my opinion the line's blurred in unbreakable, so there's that much more of a connection everyone has to bruce willis' character, it's more personal

  • M. Night Shyamalan is a fucking genius!!

  • That scene is so unbelievably realistic.

  • This has got to be one of the most underrated films of all time, I think it's truly magnificent on so many levels. True, its not perfect. But for me, its not far! I certainly prefer it over the dark knight, which has plenty of flaws itself (still a great movie, don't get me wrong) :D

  • my brother did this to a drunk guy who had just hit his gf, and he choked him out from behind like this, i swore i heard this music playing in my head when that happened.

    phenomenal movie....

  • @wowcreve

Doesn't sound heroic at all, though.

  • This movie to me is the closest most realistic exploration of what u wud Imagine a real Superhero to b like. I like to Imagine Bruce Willli's character as a extraordinary human being who has extremely rare genetics that hav made him the way he is, like that one off freak of nature. Becus these happen in real life, u get very tall people, and people who r really small due to rare freak genetics, so I look at Willi's character like that but with near perfect genetics.

  • lol the only good scene in the whole movie

  • terrible rear naked choke

  • @DavidToddSchiesler Wasn't a rear naked. He was using an air choke, cutting off air at the trachea.

  • would have loved to see him beat the crap out of the guy and then strangle him than just strangle him, but it was still fucking cool as hell!!!!!

  • I love how the director shows just his lower legs and poncho when he gets out of the pool, connoting a caped hero. This movie is so great!

  • @mbird22 how perspective of you to notice my friend. that one scene (0:29) does look like the coverpage of an old comicbook. this movie is so great...*tears*;)

  • @dabangginception Actually the entire movie is filmed with camera angles designed to make it look like a comic book. For example, at the very beginning, the way the camera keeps moving right and left to show the conversation between Bruce and the girl on the train...like right and left comic panels.

  • @Eudaletism yeah i know i love it that way. Like when the train speeds up, the background lightens up behind David suddenly. this often happens in comics when a character is shocked, they show lots of yellow lines converging behind the charcter's head. super cool when you understand, ain't it?

  • intense....

  • Epic death..

  • Mr Willis should have taken af few BJJ classes. Horrible technique :D

  • @pixelsvin When you can bench-press 500 pounds, You don't need great technique.

  • @SaphirBlackMoon

Well, wouldn't hav been great moviestuff, but hypothetically speaking, he could have choked him out in 6-7 seconds, instead of 50 :D

  • @pixelsvin I think the VILLIAN also had to be super strong as well. So it took some time to kill him

  • @WilsonT011

That wasn't some sort of main big bad though, just some random criminal...

  • @DerMorphy yeah but he is shown like a main villain in the movie other than Mr.Glass. like spiderman fought off the man who murdered uncle Ben. he too was a normal man and spiderman wasnt experienced back then.

  • c'est beau un héros :] très bon film, je recommande.

  • I like his costume, he looks a lot more badass in a security rain poncho than if he was in spandex and tights like all of the other superheroes.

  • Shyamalan is like Babe Ruth. King of the home runs...king of the strike outs. This was a home run. But I also love "The Village"...if you view it as a love story.

  • is this legit? i find myself laughing, like seriousely i actually want to know cause im thinking of renting a movie called unbreakable and theres no good scenes and the trailer is fucking stupid

  • @juicyblob How about you watch the movie instead of watching scenes of YouTube

  • Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector—the dark knight.

  • I think the best part about this character is that he wears a poncho rather than fucking tights. It makes him look way more badass, like a dementor.

  • Of all the ways one could spend their life... this would be the way I would choose if I was able. I wish I was "unbreakable"

  • ...And once again, I misspell the dude's name. Damn it, lol.

  • One of my favorite scenes in my 21 years of living and watching movies. M. Knight may have lost his magic touch, but I still have infinite respect for the man for creating masterpieces such as this.

  • Every time I go back and watch this movie, I can't help but ask myself what has happened to M. Night Shyamalan. Dude has fallen off.

  • @DrD703 Yes he has! After The Sixth Sense,Unbreakable, and Signs it's as if he suddenly forgot how to make good films.Maybe going back to film school will help him to get back on track.

  • The music adds so much to this movie. It wouldn't be anywhere near as epic without it.

  • The part where he stands up in front of the kids... *shivers*

  • James Newton-Howard should have won the Oscar for Best Original Score instead of Tan Dun who composed the score for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

  • The green hood makes him kinda look like the Spectre, from DC comics.

  • Man I adored this movie and can I just say as a liberal myself, I am against the death penalty. I am Scottish and live in the UK where it doesn't exsist. But the reason I'm against it, is I couldn't bring myself to end another person's life, no matter what they've done. I think it's a decision I should not be allowed to make and is something I couldn't do. I think they should be locked away were they have to live with what they've done and also with the inmates who would dole out karma.

  • @Sccorpy i totally agree mate

  • I love the music in the movie.

  • M. Night Shymalan... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?

How did you fall from this to the goddamn Last Airbender?

  • @Blahgahbleh last airbender was good shut the fuck up

  • @ofomatheblackbelt epic fail

  • @ofomatheblackbelt ..BAHAHAHAHA! You're joking, right?!

    ...

    Right?

  • @Blahgahbleh he had kids...haha

  • @Blahgahbleh Often great artists just sort of run out of ideas.

  • @Blahgahbleh because his movies stopped being formulaic to the sixth sense, he struck gold and made a series of spin offs from that genre and once he deviated to other films, well he found out... he's not original

  • @Blahgahbleh I think he started working in call centers.

  • @Blahgahbleh Because of the kids.

    They called me Mr glass

  • The music adds a lot to the scene

  • YEAH!!!

    Kill dat m'fucker!

  • I lol'd at davielks comments. You guys realize he's jerking it to the attention you're giving his trolling right?

Also, I seriously got hard watching Bruce strangle this guy dead.

  • @Laveticus right on!

  • I actually got teared up by this scene because of how noble and heroic he is for saving those little girls! And not letting that man stop him from serving justice to him for what he did!

I normally get chills by suffocation cause I'm extremely afraid to die that way, but when I see this filth go down, I'm really glad!

  • I love the fact that the villain is wearing bright orange while the hero is wearing dark colors. They totally did this on purpose I think to clash with the typical villain-in-dark and hero-in-bright colors theme!

I know one person felt it was uncomfortable to watch a scene of a man being choked to death with moving music playing, but I on the other hand actually found this scene touching because he's destroying a scumbag piece of filth, so the music actually fits.

  • @Murrdock71 JNH makes 50% of this movie

  • @Murrdock71 JNH make 50% of that movie

  • I forgived Shyamalan for The Happening after watching this. It's that good.

  • Let me understand, a lot of people in the coments admire the orange man?? You´re sick!

  • @Bencomz No kidding! Fucked little sickos out there. We should do away with them all like this guy.

  • I do remember in the movie how the murderer is like "can I come in?" and the dad is all "no" and gets pulled to his knees while trying to hold the door. Pretty weenie!

Anyway, although the movie was a bit too dramatic for me, the last, about 30 minutes were great and it was kinda cool learning how the dad was slowly gaining (or how I was slowly learning) about his abilities.

Good movie, awesome fight at the end.

  • My god there are some very poor excuses for human beings posting here.

    (Davielk for example.)

The character "Orange Man" was a psychopathic murderer but some here admire that quality, which says a lot about the people making such comments.

(I bet your family would be so proud of you after reading your retarded comments.)

Next you sick fucks will say children deserve to be raped and murdered by pedos because they are weaker and can't fight off an attack.

Go crawl back under your rocks.

  • @AUSSIEDAVEROCKS You said it!

I like your last comment cause if these fucks were truly brave they would do it in plain view, in public. They act like he has some kind of bravery when all criminals do is prey on the weak. And that makes them cowards, so I understand when you say "crawl back under your rocks"

In real life, I feel like police aren't good enough and a group of people SHOULD form a team to do away with all these sick little fucks.

  • I absolutely love this movie. Just so damned good and inspirational.

  • beautiful enchanting music and its being played whilst we're watching a man being strangled to death....i felt uncomfortable

  • Comment removed

  • this is one of those beautiful rare scenes in few movies where all the elements are perfect and sends chills down your spine

  • oh my god shivers down my spine and tears in my eyes

    this movie is so powerful

  • @imjohnfreeman INDEED! Same with me...

  • @imjohnfreeman

Scene wouldn't be the same without James Newton Howard's amazing music

  • @mistermajestyck In M.nights bio it says that he often uses the philadelphia tune, and this tune in this vid is often used in his movies so im a bit confused here. Is it the same song that james newton made wich is called philadelphia or what?

  • I really fell in love with this movie. It touched me very much because it shows us how beautiful, strong and happy we become after we find our true selves and how many sacrifices must be made in order to achieve it. A divine plan is hidden and although there are times that we feel lonely, empty and depressed...Life at the critical moment makes us the greatest gift of all...Our true self...

That's why we should listen to our inner voice that knows whats best for us and have faith in it...Peace all

  • i know -.-

  • the orange man looks like dolph lundgren (ivan drago anyone?)

  • @aljanabification Its not him.

  • Ha ha I f**kng lol'ed so hard at 0:37 .... Lol check it out people its hilarious lol lol lol

  • Ok Ill Click on your clip. yes yes i know. Ive seen it..

  • You know, it's truly a shame that most people nowadays feel the need to retrograde shyamalan. Even though his movies are shit now you can't deny that Unbreakable is a great movie.

  • @RustyShackleford1988 Agreed. Both The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were masterpieces. But you can't blame people for ranting on him when you look at The Last Airbender... I mean, I love most of his movies, but as a fan of Avatar (the animated series, not that other movie, obviously :p), that last one really did me in. :\

  • More plot holes than swiss cheese. Worst director ever.

  • @darkpill

    Name some.

  • i cant believe people say this movie is bad it has to be one of the most original and well written films ever

  • m.night shamalan is on such bad form hed probly fuck the sequal up

  • Bruce Willis = Bruce Wayne in this movie. One of my favorite movie scenes of all time, reminds me of when I wanted to be a super hero when I was a kid.

  • if david wasn't superhuman, how many bones do you think he would've had broken after all this? like his ribs or maybe something spinal cord related, etc?

  • wow. I love how slight the sound is when he snaps that guy's neck.

  • where's the incredible hulk and nighwing?

  • there are countless "heroes" among us: police officers, firefighters, soldiers, teachers, nurses.....and every parent and person who does the right thing every day, helping others. doing the right thing, even when its not easy, when its not convenient. unsung heroes. to all of you, i say God bless you and thank you.

  • This is getting back the the comic book hero. "A regular man becoming a hero." So inspiring! Phenomenal film.

  • Unbreakable 2 i wish .

  • @matalsace They're actually stating that the third installment in the Night Chronicles will be the sequel to Unbreakable. I hope so, this is one of my favorite films of all time.

  • @WookiefromHell no I wish that were true, he said the third installment to night chronicles villian was the original plot for the sequel to unbreakable, I realy wish the night chronicles had somthing to do with unbreakable but it doesn't sorry.

  • What i think is really impressive about this scene is the part from 0:08 to 0:17. The way the camera moves is in perfect rhythm as how willis gets out of the water and how the music goes. That some very impressiv cinematography.

  • David Dunn hasnt finished yet, he has to choke down the 3 people who pressed the Unlike button :P

  • Gran escena de la pelicula.

  • Comment removed

  • There is a woman wrapped around the character played by Bruce Willis in the movie Unbreakable looking very impressive while asphyxiating "The Orange Man" while the music plays an inspiring tune that seems to imply that "a woman has the right of being a hero and she does not need to be the victim of any rape in order to know or apply the significance of JUSTICE creating a beautiful scene of a woman rescuing another woman".

  • if you like this score take a look at Nick Caves "Song for Bob" awsome.

  • They don't really factor in how strong David is suppose to be I mean if the guy can bench 500 pounds you figure he could just break this guy in two.

  • do any other comic fans notice David's resemblance to 'The Spectre'? :D

  • i love superheroes!its been my thing since i was 9 years old and with that movie coming out i was like NERD GASIM!!!!its a realy bad ass moment when hes strugling for air and bruce shows no weakness!!!!

  • M. Night has made some very bad movies after 6th sense but this movie deserves WAY more credit imo

  • he's gasping while in a choke hold?

    Bruce, you're doing it wrong

    but still, great scene

  • @cyberdemon107 Yeah lol , but I think they did on perpose to show that he is just a regular guy without any combat training trying hard to save peoples lives :)

  • RAPE DRUG!

  • Damn, this is one dedicated security guard. I need to get one of these for my house.

  • 2:06...damm....

  • Kill that Bitch....

  • i also like orange man because he's like so american!

His home invading murderer attitude reminds me of america

    Orange man = USA

Victims in the house = iraqi bitches

"i like your house *kills' owner off"

  • @crashburnerz you're a sociopath, offence completely intended!

Identifying with a mentally deranged murderer who ties up children in closets is fucking wrong, you freak! You're the worst kind of person. Just letting you know, all the best.

  • @crashburnerz Nah, that's actually what Iraq did to Kuwait, if memory serves.

  • @crashburnerz

shut the fuck up, you cunt

    making america sound bad

  • @PinheiroIllness85

    Fuck off FAGGOT

America is like the Orange Man turned country = Home Invading Murderers

You know, right now the us army is bravely killing entire races of people just to steal their natural resources. Just like the orange man does here. "I like your house, so i kill you to take it, bitch "

Oh yeah, and you all deserve hell for it. deal with it =)

  • @crashburnerz

what the hell do you mean ''you all''?

  • @crashburnerz

    youre right man

but its only their gouverment- they deserve hell

  • the worst thing i've done is drugging a girl in order to bang her , but it doesnt matter as she was a slut. some of my pals had already banged her, but the bitch didnt want to do it with me for some reason. needless to say that used to piss me off. nothing a little special XTC mixed in her beer couldnt solve

  • @crashburnerz What?

  • Of course this scene is horrible - it's meant to be horrible. David didn't enjoy the murder, he only carried it out because it's his duty...hence the proceeding scene where he tells his wife he's had a nightmare.

  • @Eradicus David didnt kill him, he just choked him til he was unconscious. If oxygen cant get to the brain you pass out. Im sure he bound him afterwards.

  • @RiFFxxx He broke his neck after he choked him, around 1:42

    he is definitely dead

  • Disgusting scene. Nice "hero", choking unaware guys from behind

Nobody should be attacked like that when he's enjoying his beer

Willis = coward. Orange Man is badass that Willis needed to sneak up on him attack even with his inhuman strenght, to take him down.

such a beast, he did put a helluva a fight against that superhuman choke hold

Orange man rulz, i feel identified with his "i like ur house so im gonna take it" attitude. the fact he did it without having weapon is even more awsm

  • @crashburnerz To be fair the orange man sneaked up behind him fist

  • @AdrianvsJak @AdrianvsJak good point. all the orange man did was push him over the edge. Bruce choked out a guy who was clearly bigger while taking a good beating for about a minute. the orange man put up a good fight but he met his match.

  • @crashburnerz Your disturbed

  • @crashburnerz You're a fucking moron.

  • @Serpico69

    Shut the fuck up idiot

I sympathize with Orange man because he reminds me of a friend of mine i have a hard time identifying myself with the hero

my two best friends are a dealer and a pedophile. While i havent shot ppl or banged little girls and i dont have a cp collection like them, you could say im a bit bad because im their friend. but i disagree

  • @crashburnerz Willis should have minded his own business. The Orange Man was stronger than the man of the house and he took it, its that simple. The owner of the house was 2 weak 2 protect his family, therefore he should have let him in when he knocked, he only made things worse by putting up a fight. The Orange Man must have felt sexual pleasure from taking this mans life and home from him in such a forceful way. have to admire him for his strength and ability to just take what he wants!

  • You RESPECT people like THIS?!

Why don't you bring you're sorry ass down to my pad & try to terrorize my family? I'll cut out your liver and make you eat it with some fava beans & chianti while I rape you're ass with my bat. Then I'll rip out your nails with some wire cutters & take out your eyes with a blow torch. Finally, I will bury you alive with a little tube sticking all the way down for air so you can slowly go insane. Don't fuck with the grim side of justice! He's a nice hero. I'm not.

  • @Laveticus Wow. So after you've disembowled this guy, and raped him, and ripped out his nails, and put out his eyes, and burried him alive, will you take a few moments to consider that maybe you have deep psychological problems? Because you come across like an aspiring Ted Bundy.

  • @grupy3178 Ted Bundy? LMAO! That guy murdered women you fucking dolt! How ironic is THAT?! That you're saying if I tortured a piece of shit that terrorized a family, killing the husband, then raping and killing the wife, with the daughters left for the sicko, that I'M the ONE who's sick for wanting to hurt him so badly? The raping thing I said was obviously a joke, but not the torture, which he WOULD deserve. Maybe YOU think it would be better to leave a creep like this alone. You're the freak!

  • @Laveticus The raping thing was a joke? Ooooh. My mistake. So you only wanted to disembowl him, rip out his nails, put out his eyes, and bury him alive. That makes all the difference. Now you seem sane and rational.

Is this seriously your version of how sane, well-adjusted people think? Dreaming up elaborate tortures to inflict on people you'll never meet?

Ted Bundy hurt a lot of people. I don't know if you have or not. But you sure seem to want to. Maybe therapy could help you.

  • @grupy3178 He hurt a lot of women. So what are you saying? That we should just lock these sick fucks up? You seem to be wanting to get me riled up, but I'm not giving you the satisfaction.

All I have to say is that you must be one of those liberal types that think we should just lock up these sick raping pedophiliac, necrophiliac murdering scumbags, that inflict misery on countless others. And you SAY I'M the ONE who needs therapy?

I think you do. So you condone the murdering of small children

  • by these sick fucks? You ever hear of mob justice? What do you think they do? They rip a child murderer apart. Maybe that's too harsh to do to a child killer in some stupid liberal's eyes.

Look at our roots. Look at that sick fuck Albert Fish and than tell me that the electric chair wasn't too good for him! He deserved far worse for what he did. If you think otherwise, than you're just fucked!

I think you need to watch the movie "The Punisher". Not all heroes are sissys about killing.

  • @Laveticus Has it occured to you that you sound every bit as creepy as those murderer-rapists you claim to find so abhorent?

Has it occured to you that disembowlings and gouging out eyes and burying people alive (but not rape; that was a joke, ha! ha!) are exactly the kinds of stuff serial killers sit around thinking about? Not all of them, of course. Only the really sick ones.

I've never seen _The Punisher_, but if it's about the joy of torturing people I think I'll skip it, thanks.

  • @Laveticus God, you're awful.

  • bruce couldn't square up with the guy...lol

  • I still can't believe the same Shyamalan that gave us brilliant films like this, "Signs" and "the Sixth Sense" could release such crap as "The Happening" and "the Last Airbender".O_0

  • 2:09 made me turn super saiyan.

  • one of the best films in cinematic history flopped at the box office simply cos its too deep and intellectual for the average dumb ass person

  • @druggiewithagun its not deep at all the whole idea is stupid an itelligent person will find this film very very boring
