@PeripheralSenses that is exactly what I thought when I first started listening to BK! I am a die hard Weezer fan, and now I have added BK to my list of favorites XD
i like how he was talking about honest bands because at the time all of those bands were honest. i bet he would take back saying that kings of leon is an honest band because any honesty they had went out the door with the new album. If you want to get big, over produce the shit out of your music and in the words of matt followill, "make music for the masses."
what he is saying about the music industry is totally real. check out wilco's documentary "i am trying to break your heart" or hanson's documentary "strong enough to break", both are about the crumbling music industry.
and go to areyoulistening(dot)com for some cool indie bands. i think ben might be on there, but i cant remember.
oh and about the whole packaging thing..that's why a bunch of cd's are coming out in paper sleeves, instead of the regular plastic ones.
grass roots is where he lives, and where I live and hopefully more people like us are cropping up everywhere to spread the message...damn, that almost sounds like a religeous experience...

haha that transition that wilco made from one label to another was hilarious. I'm glad they made it the way they did.

if you guys like ben, check out elliott smith. He's really really good. Listen to fond farewell, and rose parade. He died in 2003.
