  • Also keep in mind that tip started the production team "the ummah" which included dilla, ali shaheed and featured raphael saadiq from tony toni tone and d'angelo

  • Tip is a talented producer in his own right and actually influenced both dilla and neptunes...watch the atcq documentary beats rhymes and life to see for urself...when pharrell is featured he says that himself, dilla and kanye are tip's sons..thats deep bcuz look who he names he mentioned.....

  • Q was the best, Q is the best, Q will the best... forever!

Amplified est très très bon, je le réécoute en boucle

  • who you think The Neptunes got their style form???? J Dilla of course!!!!! perfect example right here

  • @JayDeeAZ12 Really??? I don't hear the neptunes in this beat. This is alot more jazzy than the neptunes usually go for.

  • @bowtiedon not saying the Neptunes made this... but it sounds like a Neptunes type beat... which is why i said they got their style from J Dilla.. a lot of their beats you can tell are J Dilla influenced

  • Let's take it back to the essence........R.I.P. J Dilla

"Lets talk about these rules i break

    And the things we take

    And the land of stone?

    And a buck or two?

    And the love for you

    And the things you do"

  • One of Dilla's illest beats for sure! The bassline is absolutely ridiculous! The muted horns is the element that solidifies this song...

  • Dilla!!

  • i personally wonna thank Q tip for making this song 4 minutes long.

  • The closest thing to sound like Tribe circa 1990-1992. Yeah I know what year this came out but by this time Tribe was broken up and the sound never came back but this song would fit in perfect with Midnight Marauders.....

  • Most of the time I listen to techno music, I listen to very little rap music. My brother listen to it a lot. But this sounds good....I really like Q-tip. I remember back in the days. I don't remember this song, but thanks for uploading it. :)

  • Renaissance is fucking amazing

why are rappers like these so slept on?

motherfuckers like soulja-scrotum should be shot in the face or some where, they will die.

  • Renaissance is the ISH!!!! I love it. It's underrated because he is talking about real things. Not just sex or money

  • @lilhavin yeah I BOUGHT KAMMAL THE ABSTRACT WHICH WAS RECORDED IN 2001 they released it back in 09. I already know plus Stevie Wonders daughter is on the record singing background vocals.

  • Q-tip beats are nice

  • @hancock

  • They did this album's production together

  • Hell yeah it does.. I get so hyped up when i hear this!!

  • this beat makes you wanna scrunch up your face and do a crazy ill head nod.

  • lol damn thats me! like all the time. i hope it doesn't become permanent

  • HAHAH why was I doing that when I first came on here. lolololol don't forget that handclap and the fist pumping in the air. lol

  • I shook my head in disgust when I heard this years back. Right when i thin I'm over it, stuff like this makes me miss Jay Dee all over again. Like Baatin said, it's kind of hard to swallow the fact we'll never hear another new Dilla beat ever again. Rest in Beats.

  • sick song

  • yeah alot of people missed this song/album because they were so put off by q tip's new image at the time with Vibrant thing/breath and stop.

this album had some really solid production by Dilla.

I have the 12 inch from back then

  • Oh yeah. lol but man I love it. I can't sit still and listen to this. There are just so many layers here. It just hits you.

  • solid proof that sampling can be an artform ... there's a lot going on in this beat

  • how in the hell did i miss this song. i love it!!!

  • This song bring back memories of a girl who messed me up at that time this song had came out in 99. :-(

  • Don't you hate when that happens. lol That happened to me with the whole waiting to exhale soundtrack. I can't enjoy it at all lol I got my heart BR

OKEN hard when that came out. lolol

  • this album is better than his new one, IMO. bought it when it came out back in circa...96? back when i was 12!

  • this album came out 1999

  • i´ve only listened to Q tip´s new album (wich kicks ass btw) and ATCQ. This is mighty fine as well. I like this laid back style whom q tip has!

  • I took this album for granted when it dropped in 99, cant believe how good this track sounds now, awesome!!

  • the bass line is crazy is piano on a 12 inch

  • This is the usual from Q Tip.. and on top of that the team up with one of the greateest unknown producers.. Detroits Finest J Dilla

  • Damn!!!, Nice since A Tribe Called quest!

  • Q TIP ONLY SON. PRODUCED BY J DILLA.

  • are you fuckin' kiddin' me? Do you hear this? My homegirl let me listen to this CD a few times, driving from DC to Miami and I don't remember this cut. It must've been a bootleg copy, I'm definitely buying this one. How can someone not like music this good? Q-tip is inspiring, a unique voice too, he sounds like no one else, and dosn't ever need a guest artist on any of his tracks.

  • hot shit !!

  • Dupa i smrod :)

  • second fav track on the album. Dilla's master production and q-tips flow are completely in synch. seriously underated album.

  • The JESUS of FLOW, carryin' HIP-HOP on his back like the cross FOR REAL!

  • word up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn, that might be the best comment I've ever seen posted.

  • Sick production!

  • I mean deserves...excuse my gramatical error.

  • Most under-rated rapper ever. He never gets his worth of air/media play he diserves..he keeps it real hip hop..Go Tip!

  • You also got the most unknown drum god. i mention jaydee to kids today and they say "Yeah, Jermaine Dupri is icy." Sad, but true.

  • Q Tip is Legend... What a class tune! Boom!!!

  • I LOVE Q TIP :)

  • i love hip hop. Q-tip is hop hip!!!!!!!!!

  • --my favorite track on the album. And then the joint with Busta.

  • What about 'lets ride'

'Listening to the joints I play inside.. Mos Def, J, Prince & Stevie, Marvin Gaye, led Zepplin and Biggie'

Tip is the shit for real!

  • "Let's ride" and "Things U Do" are the best tracks on "Amplified" for sure, yeahh

  • thats hot

  • oooo dis is my shit

  • j dilla!

  • man if they only played more music like this on the radio..

  • Who's Got The Rapidshare link for "Amplifed" I can't find this CD...
