hi..i own this beautiful bird and it's loaded with O.S. max La 65 engine i have been trying hovering it.. but it doesn't..i'm using 12x6 and i have one 13x6 prop but still fail hovering.now on someone's suggestion i installed 12.75X3.75 prop..it does but still it can't hover properly.do i need to put some wait on tail or what should i do?
thats okay i actually wanted a plane that can just have nice, relaxing flight. do you know this personally or is it logic? because i had a .46 on it in the sim and it hovered just great. my vintage enya engine is pretty god damn powerful.
i had an 11x7.4 master airscrew on it and i switched it with the apc 11x6 and it ran louder, more fuel efficient, more rpms more torque, and it needed less needle valve adjustment.
@guillemasco i tried a hover one time with the enya .45 and it ALMOOOOOOST did it. but instead the engine almost stalled. then i tried it again and the plane stalled, PLUS the engine nearly shut off AND by the time i pulled it out of the stall it was 6 feet off the ground. i almost fainted. good thing i have fast reflexes.
@mrfourtysevenman actually the hover is possible with .46 engine.. Ofc it depends on the engine and the performance of it.. mine is thunder tiger and i DO hover my
improved for 3D flight calmato sport with it.. LoLz hah???
next time i will be in my hometown i will record a video and upload it..
yes. i got too much lift and i landed with nose just slightly down and landing gear snapped back. the pants went into the wing. nothing bad though. recoverd the holes in wing and the way the landing gear mount was done made it so it gives instead of snaps off the entire front end when it breaks landing gear.
my brother argued i should land with the wind because i have too much lift. but if i land with it i will get too much speed to land and the plane will drop like a rock. right?
@mrfourtysevenman the plane u got is 3D.. it is supposed to have the greatest lift of them all..! since u r a beginner in this kind of planes, try to fly when there is not much wind.. if its windy its a bad day for 3D planes and there is not much to do.. it depends offcourse on the skillz of the pilot.. :)
(my opinion is that u whouldnt be able to land it with the wind..)
true i am a beginner. as in im new. but i am a KICKASS 3d pilot.
at my club some of the members see me as a little extreme to fly my avistar in almost 20 mph winds. i was so good at 3d stunts, the treasurer waived the 10 dollar initiation fee. nobody on the field knew what a high alpha harrier roll was and i showed them. i am 15 and i am a rare breed :D they say i had too much aileron throw to fly but i said i don't have enough. i will invest in some high 8 film to post 3d stunts.
the thing is the wings are like giant amplifiers and when the engine is running on that it gets a giant VROOM VROOM!
it flies great. never stalls and its the first plane i landed on my own! man it's beautiful when that thing comes in at 3 mph just inches off the ground and does an *almost* touch and go. i got it on tape.
Maybe many people who looks at this video thinks that is easy.I know it took you a lot of effort to get there and you have to be proud of that.Keep going!!

does the plane give you much back torque spin when you try and hover it?
mrfourtysevenman 1 year ago
nice harrier.
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
would you recomend this plane to me?
.45 engine
5 months on realflight
little actual flying experience
can hover in simulator
shits bricks when actually flying
does not fly on a windy day.
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
i think you will be able to fly it. but it will not hover with a .45

ORLY?

I have a .61 on mine and it can hardly hover so I imagine that it won't with the .45
If you already have the engine you can try with it first.
Good luck
guillemasco 2 years ago
how experienced were you when you started flying the u can do?
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
well im not that rich i need to do 3d without paying too much for an engine
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
and also, how do i get my engine to fit in the cowl?
do i just cut holes?
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
do you use apc propellers?
the best thing for that is an apc 11x6
i had an 11x7.4 master airscrew on it and i switched it with the apc 11x6 and it ran louder, more fuel efficient, more rpms more torque, and it needed less needle valve adjustment.
so if you dont have one, get an APC 11x6.
the gray kind.

@mandugal i cant land mine with a 61 lol. needs to either have a bigger prop or i could cut the engine on landing.
mrfourtysevenman 1 year ago
@mrfourtysevenman u mean there is too much speed on idle while flyin???

can i put a gms engine on it?
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
i just flew it with that .45 on there.
the thing is the wings are like giant amplifiers and when the engine is running on that it gets a giant VROOM VROOM!

Very glad to hear that. Good luck enjoy the plane.

what comment u replying to?
anyway, i just had my first solo flight.
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
now i got the exact same engine as you
mrfourtysevenman 2 years ago
would you reccommend putting an ax 75 os engine on that plane?
aerialboy55 2 years ago
Yes, we also try a .91fx but its to much. The best engine for this airplane is 72FS or any .70 four stroke with an 15'' prop. Best regards
guillemasco 2 years ago
will it fit in the cowl and look nice with a 75 ax?
aerialboy55 2 years ago
yes, will fit. You will only see the muffler

Is the .61 ringed or ABC? Do think think there is a noticeable difference between the two types?

did you try the .70 surpass before you put the .61 on? How big of a prop do you spin with a .61 on this plane?
kdxdh 2 years ago
i didnt try the .70, for other videos i've seen i think it works better becouse you can spin a bigger prop.
Im using an APS 12.25X3.75 but works better with an APS 13X4W with 15% nitro.
good luck, looking forward to see videos from yours..
