  • omg... did he die??

  • SO... DID HE DIE?? lol

  • @d1drifter87 No but his legs were cut off.

  • this is why that stupid CART bullshit sucks

    obviously too dangerous, but noooo,

    you americans like action .

    dipshits.

  • LEMBRO DESSE ACIDENTE, FOI HORRÍVEL!

MAS GRAÇAS A DEUS ZANARDI NÃO MORREU. E MESMO COM AS PERNAS AMPUTADAS, AINDA FAZ O QUE MAIS GOSTA: CORRER!

  • Alex just won the handcycle division of New York marathon, November 6 ,2011

    Congratulations, Alex.

  • Its incredible how alessandro survived in that crash!

  • i respect for zanardi but don't respect at all for Indy cars....after this almost fatal accident they have some add good safety but it's not a safety at all..it just MODIFY the car to the limit. Just look at Kubica accident i think far worst than this one.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheMusaz58 there is no way in hell the Kubica incident is even close to as bad as this was.

  • @erasetoimprove Did you ever saw Kubica's crash (I hope you mean his crash at Montreal in 2007) ? Kubica was crash on the concrete wall and his car was in 1000 pieces. But, Alex was in a very horrific crash too !

  • @TheMusaz58 Kubica didnt get his legs sliced off when he crashed though did he

  • Good driver too. Incredibly lucky to survive. He's really made something of himself too. Really strong and inspirational man.

  • @harrycollin01 Jeez, no he didnt!

  • @harrycollin01 It says "NEAR FATAL" dumb ass! He wasn't killed! He just lost both of his legs! He's made a full recovery and is alive today!

  • SHIT, i bet he closed his eyes when he saw him comin

  • Zinardi>Nearly every other F1 driver in history.

  • Zanardi's hopefully going to be in Italy's 2012 handbiking Paralympic team, I for one will be supporting him!

  • I recently read an article about how hes back in racing and now he uses a special setup on his steering wheel to allow him to work the clutch, gas, and brake pedals. What a man, total respect for having made such a great recovery.

  • so lucky to survive, if the flight to the hospital was 3/4 mins longer he would have died :/

  • cart cars were crap that would have never happened in a f1 car

  • he lost his legs

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU SHIT MEN O MY GOD!!

  • it looks like his helmet flew off . . .?

  • WTF near fatal he is the worlds luckiest guy if you ask me!!!!!!

  • Alex Taglianni

  • Who crashed in him?

  • As you say, avenged7fold332, Alessandro did NOT die. He made the most amazing recovery from horrific injuries, returned to the circuit where the accident happened, reeled off the remaining 13 laps (accompanied by Mexican waves from the crowd!) and went on to win a race. Forza! La Passione!

  • if you havent seen his crash at spa when he was in F1 have a look... he has a fucking death wish, caught on fire and everything...

  • back in the car less than two years later with fake legs... un-fucking believable, this guy is legendary

  • Hey guys there was a documentary at this crash on National Geographic channel. Anyone know where i can watch this on the internet, please

  • alex escaped death TWICE! one in belgium and one here....that's a real miracle for someone to came out of that alive.

  • I heard one of his legs was found up on the bleachers

  • d-d-did he died???

  • @ham236

  • @ham236 Read description!!! -.- He didn't die, he lost both legs i this crash, AND he is still drifing races, with a special prepared car for him.

  • OMFG. He survived that and came back to racing? Big respect to this man. I watched this video like 10 times, still cant understand how he survived.

  • @Mahy165 He's like a-a-a.. SUPERHUMAN!

  • isnt that the crash where Zanardi looses his legs or something ?

  • This thumb's up for that guy surviving the most graphic crash I've ever seen, yuck!

  • è quasi comico il fatto che "l'esecutore" si chiami tagliani

  • Is this the one where the safety crew member took off his belt to stop alex zinardi's bleeding? if it is props to the safety crew for saving this mans life.

  • Alex are the Great man!

  • /watch?v=ws3jS9dPuQU WATCH THIS FOR NEW FOUND FOOTAGE OF THIS CRASH. RATE AND COMMENT FOR A SUB GUYS THANKS

  • crazy

  • Alex Zanardi losted his both legs on this accident

  • There goes his legs!

    HORRIBLE

  • alex sei un esempio di vita...forza zanardi!!!

  • I rebebmer this he lost his legs in this crash, but he continued racing in wtcc with metal ones, right?

  • always been a fan of chip ganassi racing and its drivers, zanardi was my favourite, he was agressive and smart on the track and took risks that paid off. its a shame what happened to him but his competetive heart has kept him going. i wish him all the best

  • He might return for the Las Vegas Indycar world championship 5 million challange...Ganassi says he has a car ready if he wants it and Zanardi has expressed interest, that would be fantastic and hopefully will eventually get him in the Indianapolis 500 =)

  • Krazykukurov. He did'n die he lost his legs!

  • @SoliderBuffalo

Don't feed the trolls... The "did he died" comment is a bad joke, it isn't a serious question. Where have you been the past 2 years? Trolls post "did he died" on any random video in the hopes of pissing people off.

  • did he died

  • Hi´s no dead Watch this video "alex zanardi"

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he is alive, but how on earth someone could survive that ????

  • @PoMu4 He has lost his legs!

  • @blasueltz123 I thought he only broke them!

  • @s695579 He did, but he broke them off.

  • в мясо

  • How in the bloody hell can he be dead? The bloak is STILL racing in WTCC.

  • @realpiemaster He retired at the end of 2009 .

  • VINCITORE ITALIANO!!!!

    ITALIAN WINNER!!!

    ITALIEN VINCITEUR!!!!

  • Near fatal is an understatement. Mr. Zanardi is proof that life is beautiful - he overcame blood loss that would kill most humans - he came to terms with his loss of limbs, never walking etc....he has over come immense emotional hurdles too. I salute your fortitude Mr. Zanardi.

  • I will be ten years since the crash in September. He is one amazing person. He inspires everyone especially people that have disabilities.

  • legs

  • Alex Zanardi is the most courageous man in Racing Driving. To continue racing and to continue enjoying life even after this horrible accident just proves this.

    An amazing man.

  • Zanardi <3

    from Poland

  • Zanardi was so lucky to survive this, a horrible accident.

  • If I remember correctly, this CART race occured right after the events of September 11, 2001. CART was already in Europe for two races and then the attacks occured. Since all American sporting events were cancelled, CART was the only American sporting body who decide to continue on with its races because they felt the need to have some level of normalcy. Then this tragedy happened. What was already a somber time was made worse.

It's almost like God punished CART or something.

  • im sick of low lifes who look at racing fatality videos ever one of m donohue?

  • he's so luckly but unbreakable

  • Pause at 0:09. How the fucking hell did he survive that? Scary. Amazing that he's now doing touring cars

  • alex zanardi: true grit personified

  • This is the danger of open-wheel racing; F1 drivers like Senna and Schumacher spend every race gambling death even with high safety standards for Schumacher's case. Thank goodness Mr. Zanardi has another shot at racing.

I also hope Massa can psychologically recovered from his accident like Kubica.

  • @hailtothejedi dude Senna is dead

  • For somebody to have an accident as violent as this and carry on racing takes a lot of courage. Ive got nothing but respect for the guy, i wish the world had more people like him.

  • google for high def picture, you'll see flying body parts

  • Did he die?

  • @judman117 no you twonk

  • if i were him (i dont wish this) i'll forget what is car

  • did he die?

  • @ponchoyo no lost only his legs

  • he died in that crash.did he die.

  • @0039073

no he didnt read the fucking dscription before really , he lost both his legs and is still racing

  • no. he is a former formula 1 driver. he is still raceing

  • was it alex tagliani who hit him? i remember seeing this on tv. i also remember he drove again with a special made car right? not too sure

  • Side impacts are the most dangerous ones to suffer when using single seaters... Those cars are designed to withstand great front and back end impacts but lacks safety for side impacts especially on the cockpits...

  • What a great person, what a great driver, he's now a Tv host, he has his own show here in Italy called "E se domani.." which means "If tomorrow.." that talks about all the innovations and future progresses the world will witness,

He's a real man, maybe one of few real people out there.

  • so much respect for this guy, he is a fighter

  • @pogonaut

no he's racedriver can't you see that ?

  • Ouch

  • yes, WTCC

  • How the hell did he not die. insane.

  • It isnt fatal

  • was this the crash he lost his legs with?

  • @DerKleineHai Unfortunately yes

I remember that after the crash (some years ago) he raced with BMW in WTCC or a similiar competition (i don't remember well)

  • @hummerstyle Yes, at Monza. It's Probably here on YouTube somewhere.

  • @DerKleineHai

    yes

  • @ba3cool : That he survived can be described as a miracle and here's why. Despite any technology still both of his legs were cut off. He was many many miles from facilities that could help him, and according to the doctors helping him he should have died. That is a miracle.

  • @kyrtonhefa I dont understand I thought that portions of the chassis were almost unbreakable? And he lost alot of blood its said... yes he should have gone but thankfully not. He still competes even without his legs he is a hero.

  • @5point3seconds666

    Your a fucking SCUMBAG.

  • @MotorSportAUS Hey fuck shit! guess what... the driver lived!!!!!!! if i we're him i would want people to see the danger involved in this sport . THIS ISN'T FUCKING PICKING DAISIES IN A FIELD!!!!!!!!!!!! People die in this sport to entertain and to challenge themselve's! Now, buck up or shut the fuck up!!!!

  • @5point3seconds666 You're a loser stfu.

  • @5point3seconds666 And yet even after his accident, he has achieved more amazing feats than you ever will in your pathetic lifetime. Eat a dick, faggot.

  • @5point3seconds666 your a fucking retard, how would u like that to happen to you, wait you wouldnt even have the balls to step into a race car, wait you dont have balls, nor a life, so go fuck yourself you degenerate reject

  • @5point3seconds666 I've gotta say, you are a twat for a comment like that!

  • @5point3seconds666 you're a fucking idiot!!!!

  • Go Alex ! Ninguém segura o Italiano ! Regards from your brazilian fans !

  • Nelson Piquet, when asked about what else it made him nervous in a race said:

"Being with Alex Zanardi next to me."

  • wana see real dedication to live and the sport you love? Go and see Zanardi still going round corners faster than most drivers would. i'm don't lika Italians much, but for this only, Viva Italia!

  • I remember this... Just terrible!

  • @kakha1974 yes, terrible just like the people who died (Jochen rindt etc.)

But he had luck: he didn't died

  • he lost his legs

  • jesus and he still is a great driver with his prosthetics

  • @coldstorage83 320 Km/h

  • That's a nasty crash.. glas he survived though, the guys a genious, that's proved by the WTCC that's he's won a few races in without any legs aha

  • this was either 2000 or 2001, those were the only 2 years c.a.r.t. raced there, also, he didn't die, several years later, he drove a modified c.a.r.t. car before a race and finished the couple of laps he didn't finish in this race

  • what year was that in?

  • @mustang2k10 I think it was in 2001.

  • there r sum videos and pictures wer u can actually see his leg descintegreat on impact. pretty nasty.

  • had a great heart! after all continued to live without ever giving up! great man! GREAT ALEX!!!

  • and i'll re write it.

  • And this guy finished 4th at the 2007 New York marathon.

    This Italian is unbreakable.

  • he 'only' lost his legs. they fit him something so he would still be able to race wtcc and he retired last year

  • Sweet Jesus

  • Why do people keep saying he's dead? He's alive today.

  • Heard on the radio of both drivers: ... HOLY CRAP! ... WHAM!!

  • Does anyone know how he drives a WTCC car considering he cannot use his legs and WTCC requires a SMG stick shifter, so having the accelerator on the steering wheel wouldn't work surely.

  • Remeber we watched it live and , shit another 12 inches he would have been split in two pieces...glad he survivned he is a wonderful family man...he has insurance of course all financially well for his lifetime.

    Love you Alex!

    Hard hugs,Gemma

  • @monk3ypilot

    He didn't died..

    He only lost his legs.

Last year he drived in the WTCC you know?

  • @monk3ypilot he's not dead i think

  • I was just watching this thing on discovery about the crash and the had a picture from another angle at the moment of impact and you can see pieces of his legs flying. I'm somewhat glad he was unconcious when this all happened. Some people have got their legs cut off while they're totally aware. Kudos Alex.

  • The tragedy is that the car spun when he got back on track! The other car would have missed him otherwise. Zanardi still a very bubbley character! after all that happened. And continued to race on. legend!!!!!!!

  • he died.

  • He didnt die, He lost both his legs .

  • wow. i watched him spin out and i was like oh yeah thats nothing...then i see the car coming head on and obliterating his cockpit and my jaw just DROPPED.

  • i remember this since in high school. he was like my aryton senna.

  • I was there, Lausitzring in Germany in September 2001 sitting only a few metres away. Crashing into Zanardi was Alex Tagliani. Zanardi lost both his legs in that crash, one instantly. It took about an hour to get him out of the car.

  • Walk it off pussy

  • @ewing1979 you know he lost his legs right? Actully in a photo taken you can see the flesh of his legs just in front of his car.

  • @ewing1979 mother fucker! he lost his legs!

  • who is the driver of the other car?

  • @StillBeatsYourName94

    Alex Tagliani

  • @ScuderiaRuss thx^^

  • Comment removed

  • I was at that race and that crash happened right in the Area where me and my dad stood. It was indeed horrifying but i was reliefed and rather astonished that he survived.

  • Did he die?

  • @PandaDelight no, but he lost both legs

  • @PandaDelight why you don´t read the title or the notice from the uploader?

  • he only lose her legs... :(

  • I have seen this crash in tons of compilations. I always assumed he was killed. What a miracle!

  • he lost his legs. =(

  • I last remember Zanardi trying to get back into racing, albeit at a lower level, after getting outfitted with some prosthetics. I don't know if he was able to proceed any further.

It's a good thing that they had the medical team there like they did. I doubt he would've survived had this accident happened 30 or more years ago.

  • @YusakuJon3

Zanardi raced a couple of years in the WTCC (world touring car cahampionship)and the italian touring cars . He won a couple of races in WTCC but was never com petitif enough for the champignonship. He retired in the WTCC when BMW reduced the number of cars this year.

  • @sybrensmedes Thanks for the information. I'm glad that he was able to pursue his passion a little further, however abruptly it ended. Perhaps he can offer his knowledge and experience as an instructor to young up-and-coming racers at this point forward.

  • f1 manager online! --> gpro. se/?id=127141 <-- (without the spaces)

  • im pretty sure he lost both of his legs in the crash

  • @nonamebrand0 he dieded diddy dieieddidiedieidoeododieded! Did die didn't die doodie die. Or you go die!

  • @Msgoddard85 u suck diddy died didderdead

  • his legs were in the other part of the car and he also lost over half of his blood if i remember right

  • impossible, i cant believe he survived that

  • alex is in the red car, right?

  • @pennst24

yeh... when some of pit crew ran to the scene they contacted the team boss to say 'his legs are gone'..... 'what do you mean gone?' apparently was the reply. They're not here...their gone.

  • Did he died?

  • @Msgoddard85 No -_- read description of videos sometimes

  • @Msgoddard85 Its "Did he die" not died, and not, if you were literate enough to read the description you'd know

  • the man is a giant racing is in his blood most would give up after what happened to him still racing i believe,,good luck to him

  • can`t believe that he torn his both legs off and revive him 7 times and survive

  • he should have died!! atleast he didnt
