  • thanks for the healthy green smoothie tips

  • I've been replacing my breakfast and dinner with green smoothies a couple days during the week..thanks for the tip about the dates! I''m def gonna try this

  • Also can you tell me if I am drinking too much. I have a guzzler that is 24 oz. Is that too much for one serving?

  • YOu can freeze your ripe bananas and eliminate the ice. Just a quick tip but thanks for helping us with a recipe.: > )

  • thank u for the video. God bless! God is good!

  • Awesome! Love it. Thank you so much! It's fab to see fellas excited about this kind of thing too. God bless you!

  • Thank you for being budget conscious! Great info presented clearly

  • Thank you! Very helpful :-)

  • Raw guru... but that was 3 years ago.. but i did find one for my nephew for $299 it was referbished from blendtec.. it's working fine.. bless u, jack oh also bed bath and beyond has them and with a 20% off coupon they r around $350

  • Where did you find a blendtec for $299?

  • sweet to have the prayer at the end....loved it!

  • great video! thank you

  • Also buy one of those large sized jars of pre-crushed garlic and you can toss some of that in. Ginger is also excellent Add spices-- don't be afraid to experiment.

  • Excellent, Walmart has a lower smoothie maker-- about 12 dollars and it is a very good performer-- Hamilton Beach Wave Station.... Green smoothies are amazing. Also buy some discount sized crushed tomatoes and add 1-2 cups to the blender-- thin out the mixture by adding some water. Be sure to add a tablespoon or more of coconut oil, peanut oil or olive oil-- oil helps to increase the absorption of the fat soluble vitamins.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks for sharing this! I heard somewhere that it's not good to mix fat with fruit. I was concerned with adding ground flax seeds to the fruit in the green smoothie. Curious on your thoughts on this. What have you heard? Thanks!

  • loved this :) thanks!

  • thanks man, really enjoying your vids!

  • it teach cook healthy food.

  • very use full video..

  • thank you Jack....looking forward to making my first one as soon as I can get the ingredients......shalom and blessings

  • i like green smoothies, nut there are lots of veg are should not eat raw.!!!!!!!! really not health....raw Spinach contains oxalic acid that binds calcium (-> if not enough calsium is eaten with spinach it will take calsium from your bones thus causing osteoporosis is consumed often in large quantities) and can be harmful if you have kidney problems. And it does affect the absorbance of iron....。also broccoli & carrots should be cooked....

  • @Phanentina can you send a link for this information - was about to do one of these with kale (not spinach) I know it is a spinachy kind of veg....but can you show where you got that from - like a link - thank you in advance if you see this.....shalom

  • @JackHodg my good i sell smoothies and you talk to much just show how its done i dont have ir time

  • Hi thank you so much for this video and God bless you too. I love that you close your video with a verse. God does love us all and wants his love to over flow from us. I'm working on my change of custom eating and I highly appreciate this video. For God loved the world so much he gave his only begotten son. John 3:16 God Bless you again.

  • Hi Jack,

What luck! I just asked a question about flax seeds on another channel and then turned here to have it answered. If I have it right, you have to grind the seeds in a processor first, then add to the blender? Also, do you use them any other way? Thanks in advance.

  • thumbs up for ice being FREE! great vid!

  • Thank you so much. Blessings to you as well.

  • It's called a pit that's inside a date, not a seed.

  • Jack! Is Brocoli and rolled oats okay?

  • Great vid ! Thanks for putting it up So true. I have been having one fruit and veggie smoothie a day(plus eating healthier and staying away from processed foods) for the past three weeks and I can not believe how much more energy I have! It is unreal.

  • Great vids !

  • you crack me up dude! howmuchcokediddudobeforeyoumadethat?

    Great vid!

  • you crack me up dude! howmuchcokediddudobeforeyoumadethat?

    Great vid!

  • Thanks Jack! Great video...didn't think about putting them dates in there, but now will start for an extra sweetness :). I do love having the flaxseeds in the green smothie..I usually put half flaxseed oil and half grinded flaxseeds.

  • AWESOME smoothie and BEAUTIFUL ending .. GOD BLESS YOU ...

  • By the way, your Blendtec will grind that flaxseed if you put it in first and grind it up. Thanks for the video. Looks good and I can't wait to try it out.

  • My favorite green smoothie is also the cheapest to make. Spinach, banana, a green apple and a handful of strawberries (which are organic and cost me virtually nothing - I grow them myself!).

  • Thank you for the economical powerhouse video!!!

  • three huge leaves of kale, half a banana, and a splash of OJ... mmm... easy way to start your day

  • Do not know you personally jack, but thanks for giving my son an opportunity to learn more about video productions. He is a good man and I am sure that you can see the potential in him to go far. He is a lot like me when I was his age. Thanks again.

  • How long can you refrigerate juiced stuff before it goes bad?

  • Great Smoothie-cant wait to test it with my Vitamix Blender

  • Try adding a little fresh ginger...but just a pinch....it's strong stuff.

  • Good video man. I like your shirt a lot. What kind is it?

  • HAHAHA..."ICE IS FREE" hahaha

  • awesome video man

  • which would you say is cheaper, organic frozen or organic fresh fruit?

    Love the vid!!!

  • thanks for the great vids! you inspired me to make my first green smoothie today and it was much better than I expected! Quick question: i bought a container of organic flax seeds, but the nutritional label says 0g protein. is that a mistake, or is the protein in flax seeds different than conventional protein?

  • @FredB127

it is kind of complicated.. Your body does not want protein,, it wants the amino acid's that make protein. I have been told that flax is full of those amino' and good fats, thus rich in protein. U might check Protein myths. Hope this helps, your friend jack

  • @jackhodg that makes total sense. thanks for the info!

  • @jackhodg I agree. and also he has just ruin it! you should never MIX fruit and Veggies togather like that because one is more cleanseing and the veggie is more building, plus all that suger in the morning is not good for for you perfect environment for candida

  • @FredB127

0g sounds like an error or a very small serving size. I have a 250g bag of flax seed in front of me which I bought yesterday at the grocery store, and the nutrition label says for 100 grams of flax seed, there is 19.5g protein. A quick glance at the "Flax" page on wikipedia (in the frame on the right called "Nutritional value per 100 g (3.5 oz)" it shows 18.29g of protein. I often use flax seed and sesame seed (17.7g protein per 100g seed) in my smoothies.

  • luv cheap and easy ;))

  • soak flaxseeds overnight and just toss in smoothie, I think it works better and makes it more absorbable.

  • I will get back on the green smoothie wagon.

  • great video with a blessing.

  • Not to criticize as what you're doing is great. BUT there is wayyyyy to much sugar in that smoothie. It is very unhealthy. I suggest you do some research on the dangers of Fructose.

Sadly fruit is only healthy is small quantities.

    Best,

    nick

  • Thanks for the cheap healthy smoothie, you gave me some great ideas!

  • 4:47 mark is my favorite part of this video.

  • I'm having my first green smoothie right now, thanks for the help =D

  • Looks so good! I'm putting this up for my readers later this week. Thanks for the killer recipe. Love that it's affordable too.

  • @BJJANDKARATE

Yes you can keep for a day or two in refridge. Enjoy, jack

  • Hi Jack. I've been preparing smoothies for about 6 months now and it has made a significant difference for me. I've gotten my wife, parents and sister into it as well. I usually put the following: Cup of Spinach, 1 apple, 1 pear, 1 banana, 1 carrot, 1/2 cup of Strawberries and 1 Cup of orange use. Could I please have your feedback on the incredients I use. Thanks. Max

  • One of the best smoothie videos that I found today. Thanks for posting.

  • HI Jack what is that you used to grind of the flaxseed?

    thanks

  • @fletchersdad The best way to grind flaxseed is to buy a coffee grinder. I have a mr. Coffee grider it was only $10-15 if you want a great deal you can find them at thrift stores for a few bucks.. blessings jack

  • @jackhodg

I've always used Bob's Red Mill Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal. Would you consider the pre-ground flaxseed meal to have the same or less nutritional value as fresh ground? Is there really a significant difference?

  • @sareyjane Hi.. Its good , the fiber is the same but you probably aren't going to get the full nutrition as you would fresh organic. And you do know you need to refrigerate after opening that pre ground. Just to let you know it might be cheaper to grind yourself. Flax seed is one of the cheapest forms of protein.. and it does not go bad for long time if its whole... hope that helps.. bless you, jack

  • @jackhodg

Yes, I keep my ground flax seed in an opaque container in the fridge. Good stuff! Be sure to bring us smoothies next time you come to the office! :)

  • .Been wanting to start the green smoothie journey. So I just received my Jack Lalane 'emulsifier' and today is day 2...so far so good....tastes good, feels good. But question...I was wondering...I just read that the dollar weed that is such a nuisance is edible...has anyone tried the dollar weed in one of their smoothies?

  • Enjoyed this - going green from Monday! but cant make this one - dont have any mangos in and the dates make a change from getting hold of nectar. So cant wait to try this!

    thanks

  • do these things actually taste good? I've only made fruit smoothies and I'm ambivalent about adding greens.

  • @Ersatzbee You won''t believe how ggod they taste and make u feel.. Just b sure to lean more on fruit u like.. Maybe two bannana's the first time. I have friends who love these green smoothies just because they get there vegies and it does not taste like vegtbles. Try, U will b happy u did.. Let me know what u think? Bless u, j

  • @Ersatzbee you don't taste the greens. Try spinach 1st.. you will be surprised.

  • Hi jack,Great vid.Can you tell me if storing the smoothie over night in the fridge effects the proteins etc. Also the water,is bottled water better than tap?

Im gonna give this a go.Ta for the motivation.

  • @BEDBURN actually I have heard it doesn't loose as much nutrients as fresh juice does , because of the fiber and fats combanation.. I do make for next day when I have a early departure too. Be Blessed, J

  • Does it matter using water straight from the tap when making smoothies?

  • @globalgoblin

Good question.. water is very important. No to anserw your question. If at all possible at least get filtered water, the water the city gives is full of a lot of bad things, fluoride, chlorine, etc.. The better the water the better. You don't have to spend a ton of $ but I suggest some type of filtration. Brita has a pretty good one.. Hope that helps, jack

  • Tried this today, it is the most delicious green smoothie I have tried. Been drinking green smoothie everyday for the past 30 days.

  • why does he remind me of Chris Pontius.... $299 for a blender? (yikes)

  • very nice video! thank you so much! I cant wait to try one tomorrow

  • Where I buy flax, you probably put about .3 cents worth of the stuff in your smoothie.

  • Man that looks so good! I am jealous! can u still get the nutrients if it is turned into a liquid? or do you get less cause it passes through you faster if you turn your solids into liquids?

  • @IampureSol Actually it assimilates more nutrients, depending on how well u chew ur food. Smaller or finer the food breaks down the easier it is to assimilate. Try it and tell me what u think?

  • Oh i have been trying smoothies and am so in love with them! I drink about 6cups a day : ) I can't wait to try your recipe. My boyfriend loves them too : ) I am so happy thank you. I was afraid that if i turned them into liquid then they would pass too fast through my body to get the nutrients but Thank you I am glad to hear positive answers on that.

  • I do Kale, avocado, honey, hemp seeds, banana and strawberries.

  • I really enjoyed your video, instead of bananas or dates, can I use prunes or the gold or dark raisins to sweeten my smoothie. I have severe allergies so its hard for me to find things I like to eat..

  • Sure.. and do continue to eat better and better Raw and organic and drink plenty of good water and I have heard your food allergies will dissipate as your body cleans itself and ur immune system builds.. ur friend jack

  • Thanks for the great video. I made this and it was delicious! I join you in prayer for mankind, to find good health and God's love.

  • green smoothie AND coffee. There's no better way to start your day.

  • Looks delightfully DELISH!

I need to go to TJ's today anyway, think I'll pick up a bag of frozen mangos.

    HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

  • just go on Ebay , lots of cheap great high power blenders on there.

Get a Hamilton Beach Dual Wave blender for only $ 60 ! its very powerful

  • i have the healhmaster and it does an adequeate job, even thought there have been a lot of complaints about it on the internet, i have had no problem with mine(fingers crossed). I have been doing green smoothies for a month now,. Thanks for the ideas.

  • Thanks for the inspiring video!

I made my very first green smoothie today (the first of a many, here's hoping!) with my new object of fascination: a Vita Mix. Feels like I've crossed over the threshold into a new life.

  • You go friend.. the best is yet to come.. You are going to start to feel and look fantastic. Please let me know how it goes. Bless you, jack

  • Green smoothies definitely make a powerful breakfast! Great job getting this kind of stuff out there to more people

    -- John

  • Thanks for this video. Nice start! But I take issue that there are 3 essential things (leafy greens, fruits & fat. I don't mean to diss you, but I think that's pretty unbalanced advice. Some of us think that the larger variety of veggies the better; and better is what we should be teaching, not 2nd best! Also most of us raw green people believe it's best not to mix our fruits with our veggies in the same smoothie; it's about digestion.

Anyway, keep learning & keep greening!

  • thanks menderfire, I appreciate your thoughts and kind words. i am going to have to respectively disagree with your suggestion that Greens, Fruits and Plant fats are not balanced and essential. As to mixing veggies and fruits. If it is leafy greens they do mix well with fruits. Blessings to you and your work, jack

  • I agree it's good 2 go green & raw, I am simply questioning the words "leafy greens" because I think that veggies such as beet root, carrots, yams, radishes, garlic etc add nutrients in high doses that are needed along with the leafy greens. And then how about items like fermented foods & nutritional yeast & a few nuts & seeds?

I'm not criticizing, I'm all about learning, because that is what I do. And then I guide others. I want to guide correctly & there r so many different video opinions

  • actually a fantastic place to get these high power blenders for really low prices and they are in fantastic condition is EBAY

  • yeah i find greens go great with fruit.

  • good one man

  • I wanted to start a healthy nutritional plan today, but I went wild instead... I got chocolates bars and bretzels even though I was not that hungry. Something inside me seems to not like the plan...

In any case, I'm very decided to start fresh tomorrow. I've just bought some carrots, celery, tomatos, bananas, apples, etc. For breakfast I'll have a fruit smoothie, will have fish with for lunch, carrots and almonds for snack, and a veggie smoothie for dinner.

  • Eat a Raw vegan diet !

  • Easier said than done. The change has to be done progressively for me. That's how I am. Every few days I increase my raw intake :)

  • Forsure3, I share your junk food weakness. But I do the fruit smoothie every morning, and veggie smoothie every afternoon & homemade soup every evening. Then I am fortified so when I have a junk food craving, I don't feel so bad (mentally or physically!!!) Just try it, you'll like it after a few months of it!

  • Thanks for your support, Menderfire. :) I have not had any veggie juice yesterday and today, and I already feel the craving for junk food coming back. Fortunately, they're not strong yet. I'm sure they would become stronger every day that passes without juice. Tonight I will have three cups and nothing else in the stomach until tomorrow morning. The cravings will probably be gone tomorrow.

  • You mention the cellular level. I read that unhealthy people will have low levels of pottassium in their cells. By drinking good stuff like that, you'll increase that pottassium in your cells, which is excellent!

  • love the scripture at the end!

  • Burn All Unwanted belly fat easy with our new Diet Supplement which is all natural ingridegents, starts seeing Good results faster and easier ! Check out my Channel for more info!

  • totally loved the ending man...You the bomb! God bless you too! Thanks for the info!

  • My favorite blender is the Magic Bullet, $40 at Costco...I use it at least a dozen times/day.

  • i have blender worth 10 dollars do the same thing, point is we dont need to spend 200 for blender

  • Totally agree. I just ordered a $100 juicer, which I regret already. I will return it when it arrives.

  • Very helpful smoothie videos! I'll definitely try coconut butter and avocado!!! I can't wait to taste it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you sooooooooooo much! :)

    God bless you too~~~

  • Yes it is totally enough for either. Try it,, you will love how it makes you feel.. This on a regular basis will take your over all health up several notches.. I also recommend that you chew your green smoothies to aide in assimilation, and maybe add 1/2 or 1/4 avocado to add good fat ,which will be even more satisfying... experiment, and b ready to add another banana to first get use to the green. b Blessed

  • Thanks for this. Is it filling? Can i have it for breakfast or lunch or it wouldn't be enough?

  • Ice is free....haha loved it!

  • excellent, thanks

  • Excellent Info, very well presented. Can't wait to try this out in my VitaMix!

  • i lost 6 lbs in a week after taking daily noni juice enemas, couldn't believe it but I had the best crap EVER! I'm feeling clean as a whistle inside and my energy is fan-effin-tastic, need to incorporate noni-colonics into your lifestyle, cheers!

  • Awesome im trying it

  • Hope you got something that's fruity and tart and green

  • you said it brother, lets go for the gusto!!! hugs to you for making this vid!!!!!!

  • i would unplug that blender b4 you stuff your paws in there ! I got a vita mix prep 3 blender,i love it ! Also you should use organic !

  • i started eating raw 9 months ago ,now living in an italian family that only eat starches to 100% raw was not easy, but now iv been drinking only green smoothies for the past 5 months, without working out i lost 89 lbs,i feel awesome and even my hair is turning black again,no more body fat and no need for viagra ever again

  • Can anyone reply to my comment here or email me and tell me what I can substitute for bannanas in my green smoothie? The bannans give it a nice sweet taste and creamy consistancy-however, I have found bannanas give me heartburn. Any advice?

  • heres the problem i had when i first transitioned to all raw lifestyle,i bought regular fruits, not organic,(big mistake) because bananas are sprayed so you have to wash them well ,if you cant find organic ones, then peel them and so important not to touch the fruit with the same hands that handled the toxins on the skin, secondly freeze the bananas in a zip lock freezer bag from wholefoods so now when you blend it,the acid and potassium subside as long as you use more greens over fruit

  • Hi QueenS, I use dates sometimes for the sweet flavor instead of bannas.

  • try apples or pears.

  • I heard that apples will give pretty much anything a good or at least an OK taste.

  • Oh YUMMY!! I drink 3-4 large glasses a day, I grow half my leaves .. so it's wonderful to go pick them and make the smoothie right away!

  • Nice video, nice view, but that bottle of dawn ruined the scenery :)

  • Mmm, that sounds good.

  • can anyone tell me how many smoothies I need weekly to loose 50lbs...I really have to loose it or suffer serious health issues

  • u r going to have to change some things. Yes do green smoothies up 2 twice a day. Cut out the junk food, i.e.. soda's and w/bread & fried & processed.. Start drinking more clean water, work your way up to half your weight in oz.. Start exercising. if you are out of shape start out slow but work your way up, walk, bike, hike. Drink lot's of water, eat a plant based diet, nutrient rich foods. alot of variety. Lots of fruit and vegies. I know many made your goal. Exercise 5 days a week, bless you

  • I thought that I was the only one to whom bananas gives heartburns. The funny thing is that it does not always does. Possibly it depends what you eat with bananas.

  • Where did you get your blendtec?

  • Shalom ...Enjoyed your video

Yes YAHweh Loves HIS Covenant people...

Enjoy your journey to greater health...

  • Hi R J, Thanks.. I have watched a couple of ur vids too. Very cool. I have only been into green smoothies for around 6 months or so.. They are so so good for u. Let's keep sharing the love. Bless you friend, jack

  • Hi there,

Great Green Smoothie video. I loved it. I've made a few myself and it's real cool to see someone elses take.

Its nice to get an idea of price for the single smoothie. That will be helpful for a lot of people.

I hope you keep spreading the word.

I have had such amazing health changes from drinking Green Smoothies over the past year and a half that the more we can spread the word the better.

    Take care,

    RJ

  • Sweet.. You two are precious friends. Let's go for the full life the Lord has for us.. Bless you, and see you at the beach.

  • Hey! Genice and I loved your smoothies. You re-inspired me and taught me some new things too.

    Thanks and God bless you!

  • is green smoothies good for skin problems such as acne???

  • Yes, yes it is so good for your skin. Acne is impurities trying to get out of your body (usually). Drink blenty of good clean water. 1/2 your wieght in onces/day. Start to cut out the sugar and junk food. The green nutrition with all the fiber and nutrients will work to clean from inside out. ul c diference.

  • I love your energy......and the bless you at the end was awesome.....Namaste

  • Wow, what a good video: informative, humorous, and simple, and the ending blessed me and also echoed that verse well.

  • Good vid. I'm a full-time student and so can't afford a BlendTec, but I intend to purchase one once school is over. Still, green smoothies are the foundation of my daily diet--I drink 32-64 oz a day.

  • Hiya CaribAmer, I just saw where you can buy slightly used Blendtec blenders off eBay for about $100+ less than price for a new one. They are the models they used for demonstrations at various grocery stores. I dont know if this will help!

  • I appreciate all of your videos, they are especially clear & easy to follow. Hub (60) & I (51) are parents to lg. adoptive family & struggle to get veggies into them. We invested in a Blendtec & use the CHEAP kale greens. Who knew Kale was going to be not only so nutrient packed, but also FAR cheaper than the salads I was forcing down the kids throats! This is SO much easier and I feel like the best mom in the world. Im hoping to lose weight too. You CAN teach an 'old' dog new tricks!

  • You are so smart. Yes you will loose wieght too. You go best mom.. let me know in a month or two how you all are doing..

  • I love the video! I'm actually coming to a close on my Daniel Fast and wish I saw this video earlier. Thank you! God is love.

  • great vid! please do more cheap ways to eat vegan! 5 stars and favorite!

  • Nice video. Thanks for the instruction and may God bless you as well.

  • A really lovely video. Thanks for the message and for the message behind it. You are great and Jesus is awesome.

I have noticed that vegetable smoothies in the day help me feel more balanced sometimes. I think I might put too much fruit in my smoothie. Have you ever done that? Thanks again.

  • Thanks friend, Sure, to anserw your question.. Don't be afraid to put more green in.. That is usually the way i lean. My wife does not like them that way... You can always put in more fruit to taste.. The more i drink them, the more i don't mind if they taste a bit more on green side.. bless you, jack

  • I also shop at Trader Joe's and I use those frozen mangos and flax seed in my smoothies. I like you attitude and the way you presented ur techniques.... Thanks

  • Instead of flaxseeds, you could try using some chia seeds and/or hemp seeds. They've got a much better balance and ratio of omega 3's to 6's. Also, chia seeds and hemp seeds don't need to be grinned into powder to be digested properly like flax. Don't get me wrong tho, I've got nothing against flax seeds, I'm just sharing my opinion to give you some ideas that you may want to try out.

    Have a great day.

  • thanks.. i am allways looking for ways to improve.. I will try it.. I do not know where to get hemp seeds.. I will check it out though.. thanks friend, jack

  • Only problem is chia costs like $12/lb and hemp seed I've seen for $30/5 lb. bag on Amazon. Nothing cheap about it.
