It's funny how manny K-tel records they put out with covers of popular songs, and weren't really very good. Why did they take the time to re record those songs instead of getting the rights to the original versions. K-Tel always did that. I hated that.
I bought this back in the day too...still have it. The remakes totally suck....but it had Grandmaster Flash On The Wheels Of Steel, and Electric Kingdom by Twilight 22. It was worth it at the time just for those two jams.
This was like the K-Tel (bought at your local KMart) version. I remember hearing it and thinking, "This is a trailer park cheeseburger disguised as McDonald's."
Yea, I remember my Mom bought this record for me and I was PISSED!!! I was like ( In Cartmen's Voice) "What the F*** , what the Hell is this, THIS SUX!!" What serious rip off this was!!! Sounds like 7th grade cheerleader programmed this! hahaa, Wow, just sitting here listening to this just really brings back that feeling of be deeply screwed over!
I used to have this tape and some more ktel breakdance comps. They are very hard to find anywhere, please upload some more. Cant even find on i tunes.. thanks
lol 4real? still its a classic and even tho i dont like to admit it the ktel hip hop albums were a part of 80s hip hop culture i just got flashbacks from when i saved up to buy a ktel album and was bummed out cause it wasnt the versions of the orginal kinda
K-TEL put out that RAP ATTACK record that was all fake versions, I found a copy a while back, LMFAO it was so bad it was worth the $2, the funniest was the "Message" the dude had a bad Euro accent or some shit.
@hollandturbine do you know the album o fAlex and the City Crew ? A Dutch instructional breakdance and poppin' record from 1983? also brought out on K-Tel, with a poster in the LP-sleeve included. Lot of US cats learned to break this way. ;-)
