the channel that it transmits on is not monitored by SAR. we dont have the cabability to DF a beacon that is on for like a second or two. . you should re-conciter that stuped thing, if you want real peace of mind take it from a Search and Rescuer get a PLB and not that spot crap that is about half of the coverage that you will get with a 406 PLB. IF YOU WANT TO HELP US FIND YOU GET A COSPAS-SARSAT 406 PLB.

It says on the tag that it is not monitored by anyone but when you dont come back the person you told you were going should also be told what channel it is. It would never be as awesome as one of them big GPS beacons but for short trips I dont think I really need one like that.
