  • this is comparable to some meta lol the play8ing patterns , the speed picking ect. cool. lol i could see a metal version of this song for sure.

  • are these kurdish maghams? how are they related to the dastgah system? where can i read about them? amazing music, live it and love it!

  • @Pefetz6 The 1st 2 pieces are kurdish magham-s played with Seyyed Khalil's feeling ; last piece is a Seyyed Khalil composition.

The interpretation of kurdish magham-s is very different from one region to another ; kurdish magham-s are very ancient.

Iranian classic dastgah-s are a kind of "new" (18th century) compilation and arrangement f numerous magham-s from different parts of Iran.

  • @Pefetz6 Till now, we have no serious, complete and scientific researches about relations between kurish magham-s and classical dastgah-s.

The best book i know was written by Seyyed Khalil himself in persian ("Tanbur").

  • @rizepor Thank you. I know the radif is a fairly recent creation but as I understand the gushe-ha are much older. I am studying the radif now. Do you know if his book is translated to english?

  • @Pefetz6 the notion of gusheh comes with the radif as an element

of a dastgah ; the creation of the gusheh was certainly inspired from ancient magham or lahn.

Seyyed Khalil's book isn't translated ; i'd love to have time to do that work (but in french...).
