Tiffany Coates is a MUCH harder female rider, having done everything Mondo Enduro has done and then some .
Though Tiffany and Lois are actually good friends , I met Tiffany in Russia on her Mongolian mayhem tour Lois was going to come too but pulled out at the last minute.
Tiffany is still out there in Japan enroute to LA.
@kenmorgan1984 You seem to be missing the point - Lois and Austin's message is NOT that you have to be hard (whatever that means) to do these trips BUT that anyone can do them - you just need to get out there and start.
I'm not missing the point in that Lois's trips both of them have been heavily supported almost always finding another rider to acompany her. Which gives the impression you can't just go out there and do it, tiffany though did just go out there and do it completely unsupported it is only the last couple of years after her biggest trips that she has gotten support.
i only read lois on the loose so far i'm gonna buy red tape next moth. I loved her book lois on the loose when i bought the book i was drawn by the picture on on the front "A girl going from alaska to argentina on a bike" ....You gotta be joking on a serow?? and she did! loved it looking forward to red tape!
I read her first book a year or two ago, very inspiring. Don't know if I will ever be able to do a trip like hers, but it is fun to read them. Good luck with your adventure!
The end-parenthesis around the loisontheloose link in the info box is hypertexted like the link to her page. Clicking on it causes "The page cannot be found" window to pop up. Just a heads up if u want to fix it, or if someone wants to visit her page.

Great books. Also love her husband's work (Austin Vince) - his dvd "Terra Circa" about a London to New York bike trip is worth checking out.

She's got quite an interesting accent. It was a little hard to follow her at first... She's got some stories to tell!

What does she ride?

She rode a XT225 during her trip through the Americas and a TTR250 for her Africa trip. Both small trail bikes.
