@wwolfeMC I keep the anti-slip mats which are used to line the base of the cage. The bedding should always go into the toilet pan (potty) which is used to absorb their urine. Keep the cage free of bedding except for the potty.

@wwolfeMC you could hold him/her a lot (if he/she likes being held!) play with your guinea pig and, of course, feed it treats! If you just got your piggie wait a few days before you start handling him, because he still might be adjusting to his new environment and needs some space. Hope I helped! :)

@wwolfeMC Yes, give your piggie its favorite food/veggies. Mine loves romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes and wheatgrass. Feed them off your hands, and when they come to you, give scratches behind their ears, they love it. Through this, your guinea pig will learn to trust and love you. :)

@margarita606 Change the base of the cage to anti-slip floor mats. Put only beddings inside the toilet pan. In the beginning, put some soiled beddings and poops inside the pan so it can recognize that as a toilet to do its business. Toilet training takes around 1 month or faster depending on the pig.

@snakeeyes3883 Hi, yes that is a second level. :) I do not use bedding for their cage, only anti-slip mats at the 1st level and a comfy soft rug on the 2nd level. The guinea pig is toilet-trained.
