  • is Jónsi smoking pipe?

  • "God bless tht "control room" becuz its responsible for the greatest song in the history of mankind.

  • 4:41

  • Takk...

  • Thumbs up if Hoppipolla is your favorite......song of all time!

  • this album made me who I am today

    seriously!

  • Ahhhhhh Hoppipolla. How I love you. So much love.

  • WOW- not only is this an amazing insight into the band's mentality, but this combination of images and sound is a work of art in itself.

  • I wish they would visit New Zealand, they'd like it...

  • thumbs up if you got goosebumps when you hear to them

  • @wariorek wat a loser looking for thumbs up, just listen to the music

  • i dont know if these guys believe in God but their music is worship. =]

  • I think that, not thinking, is the smartest thing you can do if you make music.

Sigur Ros is a perfect example of that

  • I saw them in 2006 on the Takk... Tour and it was the greatest, most beautiful experience of my life....

  • i love their album cover

  • the band just understands...

  • sheer fucking awesomeness

  • They're the best! this music takes u to places u can only imagine for me its like be in the elves of middle-earth world its the beauty they represent! cant wait to see them!

  • you should read up on sigur ros a little bit more if thats the way your taking the music. all they're lyrics are extremely patriotic, political and beautiful all the same. you might notice this by watching the videos. the music they make are about lifes beautiful times as well as hard times. i know music is what you make it, but when i hear you say this, it makes me compare the band to rhapsody or blind guardian which to me is an insult.

  • Agreed!

  • @bristolcapristo You obviously dont now what you are talking about!.. ALL their lyrics are patriotic?? no. Sigur ros really is what you make it.. If it takes rulotron to middle-earth than thats awesome, I think.

I am Icelandic, and when I listen to Sigur Rós, I think about elves and trolls. Sigur Rós really takes me to a magical place :)

  • @BornFilthy is that the music or the mushrooms? lol

  • When are you going to see them??

  • your english isn't amazing but i totally understand what you mean

that was honestly the only way i could describe their music :D

    nice one man

  • 06:07 Metallica socks. My other favourite band

  • I think what it is, is that it is the beauty and power of Nature transformed into a harmonious audio. I don't just expirience listening to it when ever I hear Sigur Ros, I also feel like it's the closest I can get visualizing beauty, without really seeing anything. Do you agree?

  • agree

  • unbelievable band

  • I could go to a concert of their's every night of my life and i would die a happy person...

  • I saw them for my first time last night... and I have been in a constant happy mood. I could die happy right now, having seen sigur rós.. Best night of my life, no doubt

  • I know how you feel!

i've only seen them once, and that's exactly the reaction i had. i hope it's not the last time i see them...

  • I saw them on Tuesday :p it was unbelievable !

  • ill say!

only two days left, absolutely stoked :)

  • iceland is so cute

  • i miss a blue sky like that...no chem trails

  • Ya know, I'm so glad that I've gotten into this band within the last couple of years. They are so amazing and I'm glad I can read people's comments on here and other places and see that they have the same life changing effect on those people as they do on me. Anyone else, after listening to Sigur Ros, walk through life listening to them in your head, as though their songs could be a soundtrack through your eyes?

  • I feel you

  • I've only just got into sigur ros (2 days ago) and cannot stop listening to them takk and the latest cd. They make everything good in my world.

  • Iff you like takk you should check out agaetis byjurn and ( )

  • It's the language the Angels speak...

  • Singur ros first band on this planet of having rediscovered the meaning of the senses without words, just like Masaru Emoto....look for him, he discovered that the energy of our words can modified the molecular structure of water, and we are more than 60% water, singur make us better people with their singing Love.

  • "Just mucking about" he says! Jesus, wish i could produce that by just "mucking about"!

  • If Mother Earth were to sing, she would sound like Sigur Ros...

  • Never heard it put better in my life.nice one.

  • he's right...that's good man. at least it describes my mind when i listen to sigur ros.

  • @luqmanyusoff That is one of the nicest and most accurate things I have ever heard.

  • There isn't anything that comes close to sigur rós. I wish I lived in Iceland :)

  • unbelievable band

  • PERFECT. thats the only word that can describe their music

  • Such harmony in their hearts!

I can't wait to lull my children to sleep with the assistance of these guys.

  • Thier music paints landscapes in my mind.

sad soldiers, love, uniting the divided, hardship, humanity, water ripples, clouds, cobble stone paths, sunlight, greenfeilds, people smileing, young love, i cant describe the feeling, its everything that truely human.

  • Nothing like Sigur Ros.

  • These guys are the best. Hands down.

  • hands down? that implies negativity, u mean 'hands up' LOL :D

  • mia toa

  • im from iceland:D

  • Man, I'm going to have to visit Iceland sometime. Very beautiful photography.

  • oh Iceland! I must MUST MUST GO THERE SOMEDAY IN MY LIFE!!

  • their music is painfully beautiful, i consider myself pretty damn lucky to have seen them a couple of times

  • crazy icelandic bastards!!!!

nah these guys are really cool. very uniqe sound, normally i'm not a fan of the "post-rock" thing but you can really get lost in their songs.

    go the art wank!!!!

  • "spontant"

    what a cool half-non-word

  • heh coca cola heh heh

  • i hardly understand what they say, they speak so fast!! o.O

  • Maybe they speak icelandic?!

  • how painfully slow do you speak? they speak slurred with thick accents but not fast..

  • it just goes inside of you and you feel it all over the best sound ever to be created and just listen to them its a great experience

  • they are one of em who have discovered music...

  • The amazing thing about sigur ros is that weather one likes Metal,Rock,Dance, Rap,classical...they will STILL like sigur ros because they're SO unique and AWESOME! <£

  • i definitely agree!

my two favourite bands are Sigur Ros and Rammstein... sort of polar opposites :)

  • Do this guys give concerts in europe?

ILL GO WTF:O:DDD <3 those guys!!!

    keep it going !!

  • it would be better with subtitles, their accent is weird, but, anyways, Sigur Ros arem the best band of post-rock

  • Good documentary, though it`d be better if it had english subtitles, as jonsi accent is very thick and so hard to understand, especially for non native english speakers... and once again: Sigur Ros, u r the best!

  • Jonsi speaks rarely in this documentary, even orri speaks more than him.

  • i think its cus Orri speaks better english. he lived in england for a bit you know.

  • no I think it's georg who lived in england for a bit, you can notice that his accent isn't really thick like the other band members.

  • Best band around these days, bar none, and one of the few I absolutely HAVE to see live every time I get the chance. I hope they're around a long time from now. Really looking forward to the new album.

  • Who is narrating?

  • The band members are narrating.

  • Sorry, I knew that...I wasn't specific enough. Who is the first narrator? Is it Jonsi?

  • No, it's Kjartan the keyboardist.

  • To know Sigur Ros is to find yourself.

  • its usually not icelandic but a language they made up themselves

  • I thought that only () was the album where they used the hoplandic language...i could be wrong

  • () is the only album entirely in hopelandic, yes. Olsen Olsen and tracks 7-9 on Takk... is also hopelandic. The rest is icelandic, though on Vón it is sometimes hard to tell.

  • hmm, not realy..but thanks any way! ;)

  • what do "se lest" mean?

ooOOo! i what to lern to speak icelandic!!

  • I think he might be referring to an instrument known as a celesta because he is saying they have tried glockenspiels and stuff before, but this is the first time they have used this particular instrument.

I don't know what "se lest" means though.

    Sigur Ros is awesome.

  • Oh! I think "se lest" translates to "I see a train".

    Hope that helps ~_^

  • actually "ég sé lest"

if it's "sé lest" then it's just see train XD

just correcting if I may :P

  • Cool, thanks xxXFluffyFrogXxx, that's good to know :D

  • No prob =]

  • viste hernaldo, pa eso la gente de bien estudia inglés...

  • Sigur Ros creates/builds the longest crescendos in the history of all music...and it works brilliantly, if you lend a receptive ear.

  • What a work of art.

  • no cache ni una wea

  • i had no idea one syllable meant such diffrent thing in diffrent languages

  • takk in dutch is a branch of a tree

  • In this case, it's Icelandic for "thanks."

  • its No in Splenglian :)

  • cool! check them out in Screaming Masterpiece!! They're awesome in that one!

  • In Czech, takk is "so."

  • Beautiful, but it's very hard for me to understand you. :(

  • yeah, Takk is Thanks, and yeah, Hallgrímskirkja, the church, 7th wonder of the world indeed :D

  • this makes me content

  • lol i love jonsi's almost evil-sounding laugh after he says that it comes from a place deep inside the mountains of iceland

  • that's kjartan if im not mistaken

  • Sounds scottish :) no offence :)

  • i went to reykjavik and i know how its inspired them to make this music the church should eb part of the 7 wonders of the world, and to any icelander, am i right in thinkin that takk means thanks?

  • yea it does

  • absolutely right you are. and in sweden, thanks is "tack". you learn something new every day!:D

  • its Yes in Polish.

  • It's No in Indonesian. :)

  • thank you :)

  • i love the church in that city. ive never been there but it looks like a great place

  • God, Reykjavik is such a beautiful city. I kinda love how it looks like such a small city when really it is but no Icelander acts like it is.

  • That's exactly right.

  • Yes and its beautiful how its surrounded by mountains

  • lovely<3

  • Hahahaha i loved Kjartan and Orri's voices
