Rare video of an external aircraft walkout!

Anyone tried this bird with voice control software called "Multi Crew Experience"?. Not to be confused with fs2crew. Incidentally there is a free demo, so if you already have this bird in your hangar, all you need is a headset with mike.

I noticed that in the virtual cockpit, the number windows for the autopilot selectors (heading, course, altitude, climb rate) (also, if this is the defautl aerosim panel) how did you get the numbers to show up? on mine the only one that i can see is the course selection window. any help you could provide would be great. nice video by the way.

Wow what a video! That was their test ship S/N 1001. I worked for Lockheed back in the 70's as a Flight Engineer on the L-1011. As a matter of fact, I took my FAA flight engineer check ride on that ship! I flew the TriStar for the next 5 years - it was *way* ahead of its time; 4 hydrulic systems (3 on the DC-10), Direct Lift Control (DLC), all flying tail to counter jet upset and every plane had its auto pilot certified for Category IIIB autolands (not so the DC-10 and 747).

constellation wasn't a jetliner ;) it was a 4 engine pistonengine driven airliner ;) so the tristar was the only JETliner they made :( all others where for military purposes or propellerdriven. or executive aircraft like the jetstar :)

Go get add-ons! There's a hell of a lot of sites out there for add-ons. Just Google around!

And the L1011 is a great airplane. It really got the short end of the stick when it came to the industry. It was light-years ahead of tge DC-10 when it came out, yet still was a failure. Sad...

I always want to ride in those tristar! Sadly I never got chance, and bitch FAA told they will not let make commical trijet (airline with three engine) anymore. Only make twin engine and four engine for boeing 747 and A380.

The first Tri-Jet is the 727. The L-1011 first flew 3 months after the DC-10.

Nope, the BAC-Trident flew before the 727, so the Trident was the first Tri-Jet.

But the 727 is much better and looks much better than the trident.
