It would've made sense if Yellow had sent Orange with Gray, Red or Purple. They would've split the alliance between Orange, Gray, Red, and Purple then.

This would also be the third time in a row where the Orange Team was targeted by other teams for something negative early on (Samadhi in season 1, elimination in seasons 2 and 3).

Generally the tradition was to send "runt" teams up to the Temple of Fate in the early going so that they wouldn't be likely to seek revenge. I think season 4 broke that tradition (to an extent, at least).
Why would send blue anyways...let them work out their problems, they aren't doing anything to anyone else...send the stronger teams home.
