I am middle aged (young middle aged) and I just recently got the diagnosis for the anxiety disorder and I tried to get the diagnosis for Asperger's a few years ago and it came to nothing. My GP now acknowledges that the original diagnosis was probably wrong. I would have been so thankful to have known what was going on with me back when I was a teenager being bullied instead of having to try so hard to 'fit in' when that was never going to happen.
