@chadberry75 The entire industry is shifting toward automatic transmission trucks. Most garbage trucks have automatic transmissions. The only ones that typically have manual are roll-off trucks, but I believe in the next 10 years or so, many of those will be replaced with automatics too.

@labrieexpert2000 The truck at 12:00 is a Waste Management Inc - Mack LEU (Low Entry Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel TerraPro) with a McNeilus manual side load body. That truck is collecting single stream recycling.

@labrieexpert2000 The truck at 8:16 is a City of North Port, FL Autocar WX with an E-Z Pack Hercules front load body. It has a Curotto-Can II (the dumpster looking thing on the front), that is used to pick up curbside roll-out carts (garbage cans).

@traxxasemaxxrules I was trained on a front loader for a day, but I never really put that training to use - ended up driving an ASL instead. This did give me a strong respect for the position. One thing I can tell you, it's a lot more difficult than it looks. There's tons of ways to get into accidents with that truck, and drivers have to be very careful in order to safely operate that truck - in a timely manner.
