Whenever I listen to this I get so many memories... I remember it was a hot summer night, I was 13 or 14 and was listening to the 'Faith' album & this played for the first time... I was mesmerized...
The further we go, the older we grow, the more we know the less we show...
really LOVE this song. reminds me of getting ready for school, waiting until leaving the house to put my eyeliner on, outside, in the cold, trying to smoke a clove. sure miss those days...
Eso es tán PUNK!!!!!! Great to hear a song w/ no one lead guitar! Two basses in a infernal race! Simon vs Robert, they wont follow classic musical statements (guitar bass drums)
Ain't seen or heard this 4 years - two bass guitars and drums with no lead or rhythm. Set the scene no one else has done it since. Still a classic.....Wait 4 someone 2 do better LOL
What do you mean impossible? do you play in a band? Can you play bass? Have you tried to play like that? If not then be quiet cause you no nothin about music
This is the shit, i fucking love Joy Division, and The Cure, i am very happy that Robert Smith dedicated this song to Ian Curtis. Love this song.........too bad music isn't like this now-a-days. Music is lost............
Me too! Its so much easier to teach yourself than to try and find lessons. I can play Fascination Street, Just Like Heaven, Charlotte Sometimes, The Lovecats. I can play a few more, and I'm learning The Hanging Garden =]
This song is incredible... I remember the first time I listened to this... At first I thought it wasn't their greatest song but after a few more listens, this was permanently on repeat and I decided to get their whole discography. The Cure then became my favourite band, and I even collected their bootlegs. :) Now I haven't my extensive collection anymore, but wow, these were some great days!
Plus, they should totally release a cd version of the cassette 'standing on a beach' ! I would love to have the singles AND all of those fantastic B-sides on one disk.
hey Universalfuckingmusicgroup get of your goddamfuckingassholes and re-release 'Staring at the Sea the Images' on to DVD. Cure fans have long warn out those old VHS tapes.

Just read that R.S. used to dedicate this song to Ian Curtis when played live. Never knew that. Interesting.
