Surgery will not help because even if you were to have it tomorrow, you are not emotionally strong enough...you would still feel like you are lacking something. My words might sound cruel however, the key to your situation is learning to look deep inside yourself and love the person you currently are. Your physical body is just a container of sorts...work on healing your spirit and the rest will fall into place. Blessings to you.

I am so sorry you're going though this. I wish there was an LGBT group that organized campaign to help low income transgender people afford reassignment surgery.

In the meantime, do your best to improve your life incrementally and hopefully one day you'll be independent and in an job where you're able to get the surgery.

I am not sure if state medial assistance pays for that.
