  • Congratulations for your national holiday today Papua New Guinea!!!

In 1975 Papua New guinea became independent from Australia today its your 36st birthday great I hope the next 26 years will be great. Its a beautiful country with such a nice landscape. Our countries have a short time of history together. I wish you best look for the future from your friends in Germany

  • I love This is a really good video but unfortunately half the people in the comments don't seem to know what the hell they're talking about...

  • I'd kill to visit this country! :D

  • @ririhugs me too! :D

  • I WANT TO GO TO PAPUA NEW GUINEA. IT SEEMS AS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND CULTURE.

    RESPECT FROM ARGENTINA!

  • God save this blessed patch of our planet

  • Land of the Unexpected... I'll say!

Every time something goes wrong (hold ups, delayed plane flights, floods etc), my family have this joke of shrugging and saying "meh.. Land of the Unexpected!"

    Gotta love PNG =]

  • papua new guinea is the part of the indonenisa

  • It is not in Asia - in Oceania!

  • An incredible place, one I have longed to visit.

  • i thought Papua New Guinea is another country where most people lives their are white but it's not!

  • @6digit Nope.. us whites are few and far between. Not many expats can handle it, I don't think.

  • png is like the only place in the word like this cause the natives live there and not humans like americans...:( they win

  • LOL the only places that I like in Indonesia are only Papua,Padang, and Bali, other than that,it sucks

  • i live in indonesia and not all indonesia are like this, indonesia consists of hundreds of islands with different cultures and religions.this is why we have a famous quote called "Bhineka Tunggal Ika" it means different kinds of culture combine in one country.

  • @KPKonliner lol its not indonesia its Papua New Guinea.

  • Im beginning to realize late in life that money is indeed the root of all evil. It is created out of thin air and sold on at interest to the unsuspecting who think it is normal to be in perpetual debt to those who print and distribute the stuff. Inflation means that what we work for is worth less and less each year. And what is inflation? It's merely caused by the act of printing more of it and putting it into circulation! The more they print, the less its worth, the more we work to get the same

  • Great video but I'm afraid it might be too late?

  • nice & wild... watch my png vid... :-)

  • ayo ples ya...

  • Watch zietgiest movies on google films

  • And it is when im watching things like this, that makes me wonder; why don't we do more to conserve this unique wildlife?

    This footage is so incredible!

  • One of the most amazing nature videos I ever saw was on New Guinea, in an anthropology class.

Sometime in I believe the middle of the 1900's, the islands of New Guinea had still been mostly unexplored, except for the boundaries. A group of people, seeking to test the island's resources after the Australian gold rush, went into the mainland and met several tribes that had never contacted outside races.

One of them had a camera.

I saw live footage of how a culture, untouched by time, reacted to

  • meeting a semblance of modern-day culture. It was mind-boggling.

  • i just read on yahoo that they discovered 40 new species in a big cave in a moantain in here. giant rats, fanged from just to name a few.

  • There are videos posted of it here on youtube :) Search for "Lost land of the volcano" ...they made a BBC series of it :)

  • Really interesting, and same story as everywhere else: find the right balance between human activities and wildlife needs. 5/5

  • This area of the world, Australia, New Guinea, and Oceania hold so much allure for me because they have or had some of the most interesting traditional societies I've ever read about. The Dreamtime of the Australian aborigines and the thick jungles and mountains and rivers of New Guinea as well as the serene, carefree paradises of the Pacific. I can clearly remember being a child and looking at my Atlas of different countries and wondering about them. Truly Beautiful world. This makes me sad

  • Love my beautiful country!

  • Ahhh colonization...what else is new?

  • Papua New Guinea isn't much infested with AIDS, kewlkewl12. Just because they're blocked you're going to automatically assume that it is?

  • If 'sex' defines 'paradise' to you, then AIDS would be a problem. And what you mentioned is a total lie, take a look at a world AIDS diagram before you spout bullshit like that.

  • The first thing they should do is teach writing to these tribes. That would allow them to communicate not just with the outside world, but amongst themselves. The less infighting there is there, the more they can concentrate on resisting environmental damage.

  • paradise!

  • Oh yes papua is beautiful to me..i'm papuan so naturally thats how i feel.I'm so connected to the land.I hope that it wont get polluted or destroyed deep in my heart i sometimes wish that it remained hidden and a mystery...so that people won't come and destroy it.

  • la fantastica papua terra preistorica, sono felice che ancora esiste gente che vive allo stato preistorico, che meraviglia

  • papua new guinea is paradise. i would know i from from there. and no i do not live in the bush in mountains i live in a city on the beach where i enjoy boating out to tropical islands.

actually im glad ppl dont know much about my country then it would be destroyed like others.

I can confidently say papua new guinea is the paradise in all aspects of life in the WORLD.

  • yeah no offense but no1 cares wut you think.

  • THIS IS THE PARADISE

  • until they go hungry and decide to eat you...

  • I enjoyed this video about this country. It was very educational and informative.

  • Hey anyone from Highlands International School watching this? I dunno how else I could get a hold of some of you guys you all seem to have gone back to your own countries like moi! But Nathan I never told you that I liked you!!!

  • I'm sure there was alot more wildlife before cannibalism was outlawed.

  • Come on strdave you don't have to be mean to the people of Papua, New Guinea. Everyone lives different. So don't be mean.

  • the story of civilization: destruction.

  • hey shut up! how dare you insult my home country like this! where do u come from huh? i,ll call your home a shitty country and you,ll see how it feels!!! papua new guinea is a beautiful place if u give it a chance!

  • @violentbeauty1012

i recalled seeing something said about this country calling "shit hole". after what i experienced yesterday, i TOTALLY agree with it. IT IS a beautiful country IF you, your own people give it a chance.

  • wow

  • Tingim pipol, don't be fooled by Logging companies.

  • Very informative.... Appreciate what your guys at Conservation International are doing in Napua New Guinea. Thank you again. (Papua New Guinean)

  • Our common global good - rainforests of PNG, are being raped and exploited to extinction with no end in sight, even as we speak!

Stop the rape! Break the bond - sealed in blood and corrupt money - between Malaysian companies operating in PNG tropical forests and the PNG political hierarchy forever!

Without this, the world can sit and watch the last remaining tropical forests disappear from the face of this planet!

  • Interesting video. Should have captured some more from other parts of the "Land of the Unexpected"

  • Mangi mosbi, tingim ples istap.

  • mm biuölvb oöihöo tdru

  • I love PNG. Went there on sept 2006

  • PNG is a Paradise, indeed. We still have so much and we also have lost so much. But having too much is never enough. Thanks to Conservation International, WWF, etc.

  • yeah PNG THE LAND OF UNEXPECTED!!

  • I hope they save it

  • It's the whole logic of capitalism - destruction the natural world is seen as one of the "externalities" of making money.

  • @COAnews Leave the native people ALONE!! the world population needs to be reduced!, europeans and americans need to DIE!!!! the greedy cattle and timber companies just want to take over Papua New Guinea! its bullshit!!!

  • @5tonyvvvv you dorealise europeans and even americans make up a small amount of world population.

  • @COAnews Well for capitalism to go on, they pretty much have to destroy the natural world :(. Our economy stays goes round only with cyclical consumption.

  • A very timely message. I hope that PNG will be able to resist the tempation for full scale exploitation of their land and ocean. Hopefully, the rest of the world will support them in this, as very few large scale wilderness areas survive on this planet. PNG should look at New Zealand to see how much of the natural areas we desiminated and that we have only recently woken up and are now trying to repair the damage and preserve the little we have left.

  • very interesting

  • * * * * * Best of YouTube [intense, radical playlist]

  • Yes but Biodivsity is a driving force in the UN Treaty to reduce the population by %90. People are spreading out and globalism is doing a poor job of recycling and managing resources. Pushing people out into green areas, cuttting down forests and wildlife. This is a driving force in Smart growth and governments siezing land to sell to large corporations.

  • I blame rap
