  • that vault looks dangerous. a little short on rotation, they could land on their head

  • I always wonder what would have happened if produnova or shushunova would had competed under this CoP

  • wow...did she medal

  • absolutely incredible, powerful...great vaul, I can't believe that she was out of the medals this vault was for the first position, even better than Amanar or Olaru..

  • why doesn't Alicia Sacramone think about this vault. She has SO much power. She could really do anything. It would be great to see her push herself to her limits

  • @hankm77

I agree with you. In fact, I think Sacramone is the only gymnast who could perform this vault nowadays

  • just amazing!

  • Screw Chuck Norris. If I had to pick someone to kick ass and take names for me, I'd go with Prod. Could Chuck Norris ever do something this amazing? I think not!

  • OMG! AWESOME!! She's great! :)

  • DEEEP squat. :-S

  • start value 10.00, execution 10.00!!!

  • WOW

  • wow!!!

  • 1 word..... BEAST!!!!!!

  • She was so under appreciated. One of the Russian greatests.

  • Shame about that deep squat on the landing. She did this really well in the preliminaries.

  • but in terms of difficulty, this vault is valued at 7.1, better than cheng's 6.5

  • Produnova is truly one of the all-time greats.

  • She does 2 flips and it's a blind landing. It's so hard that she's the only woman in the world who could do it.

  • Why don't you go and try this vault yourself..and by the way, it's also called a Roche Vault. The man who first did this vault, almost died in a major competition and then the judges decided that since he attempted it but i think did not land perfectly that they name it after him..

  • If I won vault that year I'd have just handed over my gold to Prudonova - she had GUTS didn't she?

  • she didnt even medal did she

    4th

  • She? Is a badass.

  • Is this vault named after her?

  • yes

  • She doesn't tuch the floor with her butt.

Non ha toccato a terra col culo.

  • ma ha toccato al terra col culo!

  • honestly, even though she had a low landing, the rest was perfect. it is like a 2-3 tenth for a squat back then, and it was a fantastic vault! i was thinking a score of around 9.7

  • dis she touched the floor with her butt?

  • nope

  • LEGS OF STEEL! Wow, she was the best vaulter those days in my opinion, the strongest.

  • I consider her the champion here...that score is so stupid

  • I love her!

  • I know, the old scoring system sucks! The new one would have made justice to a gymnast like Elena. She's the only one who have ever attempted it!

  • I think both systems sucks. In 1996 I'm pretty sure that would have been a 9.90. The main deductions would be the cowboyed rotations and the low landing, but the bonifications are also important.

  • Awesome!!

  • Wow!!! incredible vault!! I though that 9.5 was way too under. Under the new system, that vault has a jury A score of 7.1, the highest of any vault. Even if the landing was low, under the new system, she still would have scored higher than a well done Yurchenko double.

  • hell, that vault has a .6 higher A score than any vault in the code now. Alicia and Cheng wouldnt have a chance!!!

  • They are two different kinds of vaulters. Cheng would had never dreamed about fliping that strongly. OTOH, Produnova would never had dreamed about twisting like Cheng. They are both more than great.

  • @chokolata But the horse is harder to vault on than the table =D
