There is less fact in being able to not increase anything by doing something, than to increase something by doing anything. Understanding something new will create a physical change in the brain. Either you become more intelligent by learning something new or less intelligent. What is more likely?
ok. you can do that experiment on yourself you know. have you personally been able so increase your intelligence by any measurable amount? how many IQ-points do you think is possible to raise it with? 5? 10?
Halt for a second. Do you agree that it is more likely or not? It's a valid question to ask and a very easy question to answer. Just yes or no.
Of course I know I can experiment on myself. What say I haven't already? What say I haven't already repeatedly? I have successfully done so. And so to answer your question, it is relative as I have stated in my blog. By how much can one inflate a balloon?
The answer is a "no" when it comes to IQ but a "yes" when it comes to other things such as riding a bike or whatever thing neuroplasticity is involved in.
So what is your IQ? I want numbers, they are more concrete than words =) By how many points did you increase it? Which tests have you tried?
Too bad you see it that way. I'm not here to try and convince anybody of anything. Merely let each and every one of you draw your own conclusions. Which you have.
To a question like "what is your IQ?", following would be my reflections:
1. When?
2. On which test(s)?
3. On which scale(s)?
4. Timed or untimed?
5. Culture fair or not culture fair?
6. Administered or not?
Since IQ isn't a constant and measured in many ways, one should be more specific both asking and answering your question.
Actually, there are standardised IQ tests. You are completely dodging the question. Your IQ on such tests will change until while you are very young. Beyond adolesence however, there is little variation as I understand it. It is possible to get better at IQ tests, but not to any major degree. The increase is false in my opinion. Change the test format and the gains will be lost. I personally feel that IQ tests should only be considered a very, very rough guide to intellect.
we are always training our logical thinking because we always use it for everyday living. there have been some experiments like this trying to find an actually working method for increasing intelligence but so far no-one have succeeded in finding one. if there where one we could easily train school children to think more intelligent but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work that way at least not only.

I asked for exactly that. "Wich tests" is tied to all the other questions but you are still avoiding to answer any of them. So:
When have you tested you IQ?
Wich tests? (4 and 5 goes together with this)
Was the test administrated?
What was your IQ score (ofcourse you should specify wich scale as well)
By how much do you think your training method abled you to increase your score from one time to another? I am curios

An IQ test was administered to me a year before I had part of my brain taken out..and a test 5 years after the surgery.
After having part of the brain taken out, my IQ went up 23 pts. Its not as high as it was according to school records, but close enough for me
How did I do it? I abused every type of alternative medicine I came across and pushed everything to the limit
Interesting irony: I have part of my brain removed, and have been in a relationship with a member of mensa for over 5 years

I like your philosophy. Teach people to logic without lording it over them.
Cheers!
